Would definitely recommend to friends, family and strangers alike! The staff is really personable, professional, and helpful. The wait was not long and the Vetenerian is just awesome! Handled my tiny chihuahua so well!

Recently decided to try this Vet clinic and took one of my dogs here for a broken leg, very affordable, super friendly staff and Vet was very easy to understand very patient with me, very caring staff I enjoy their service and felt they cared about my pet as much as I do!Will be back for the rest of my pets to be seen for sure and I highly recommend them for anyone
A few years ago my mare collicked in the middle of the night. I finally found a vet who would come out to my place and treat her, Dr. Stevenson. He said he'd be there within the hour. I walked and walked my suffering mare and when an hour and a half passed, maybe longer, I finally called him back. He said 'sorry, I fell asleep at the clinic.' As soon as he arrived he gave her an injection and she immediately collapsed. He said 'she's not supposed to do that.' She flailed violently hitting herself in the face with her hooves as her eyes rolled back in her head. Vet goes over to his truck and comes back wirh a pail and tubing where he proceeds to fight with her on the ground trying to get the tube in her nose. Can't do it. Vet stands up and says, she's dying and seconds later she's released and is gone. With that he says sorry, packs up and leaves with me standing there with her halter in my hand looking down at my dead horse whom I've had since she was born. Do you remember us Dr. Stevenson? My precious mare's name was Easter. I wrote Dr. Stevenson a very respectful, non-judgemental letter months later asking him to help me understand what happened that night...that I just needed to know from a clinical standpoint what had transpired. I received no response at all from him. I tried to just accept it but it remained a mystery. Quite a while later I wrote to Dr. Stevenson again asking him if he could please help me out and let me know what he thinks happened, so I can put the questions to rest and move on. Again, no response, no nothing from him. So, I can forgive a mistake of grabbing the wrong drug or accidently going into an artery if that was what happened...but a veterinarian who has little regard or compassion for their client after the loss of their beloved animal to even acknowledge you is unprofessional as a veterinarian, cold-hearted as a human being. Dr. Stevenson, you should be ashamed of yourself for your lack of courage, kindness and compassion. Might I suggest a different profession where these traits are not cherished by everyone who walks through the doors of your clinic. Your clients, the people and animals, deserve good care and that entails not only caring for but CARING ABOUT them as well. You fall short on both counts.
I unfortunately had to put my cat down. When I called them and explained my dire situation, they were very sympathetic and were able to assist me that morning. I was given condolences and timely service. I had called Cleveland animal hospital first. The woman who answered the phone said that they were booked and if I wanted to I could come in the afternoon and they MIGHT be able to help me. She didn't seem understanding or seem to care about my situation at all. I highly recommend Big Thicket over Cleveland Animal hospital.
They were very high but I guess I shouldn't gripe because they are a very good group of attendants that ate great and even though they don't like Dr.Poe. HAVE MERCY
I took my Bassett hound Betsy here, she tested positive for parvo. She was so sick she wouldn t even walk! Big thicket kept her and treated her I called a lot because I was worried and they were very informative and comforting! The vet said she could stay up to 5 days most likely longer, she ended up staying 4 days and before they sent her home she s home now back to her normal self! I can not thank them enough for saving my baby!!
We brought a newborn kitten here who was maybe a few days old. He had diarrhea. We went for a fecal sample to make sure he was okay and didn t have worms or anything. They gave us medicine to give him and we bought saline to keep him hydrated. We brought him home and gave him the medicine and within a few short minutes he stopped responding, stooped hardly moving and couldn t meow. We brought him back up there and they fed him through a tube. He looked like he couldn t hardly breath. They said he may just be tired and to let him rest and keep an eye on him. Since they just fed him we brought him home to rest and when it was time for more fluids he was dead. Before we brought him there and gave him the meds they prescribed he was very active and meowing like there was no tomorrow. As soon as I have him the meds he completely started shutting down all together. I think he was too small for the meds and when I showed back up there with him not responding they should have been honest and up front with us and honest. I regret bringing him here and wished we would of used the pedialyte instead with his formula. Never again will we go here.
Very caring vets, reasonable prices. The staff is great. The only thing I would recommend is that they get more help. They are extremely busy and sometimes it takes quite a while to get in on your scheduled appointment
I found I stray puppy on the road and I called them they said that they would help but when I went up to the office they said they wouldn't do anything unless we had money and that any animal that we bring in whether is ours or not we had to take care of its finances I was just trying to save a young puppies life because her eye was popped out of her head and she was bleeding out of her nose and they resused to help
Thank God for this Vet clinic. My goats had a cough so I called them. Dr. Priestle is the best. So knowledgeable, professional and took time to comfort me, my goats and listened and answered all my questions. See ya soon!
My dog was puny after encountering a raccoon. The vet, Dr. Wendy, identified the problem and sent us home with meds that really worked. Luckily, he had his rabies booster the month before. He was almost normal in a couple of days! But kept on antibiotics til done. Best Clinic!!-
This place is wonderful! They have great prices, the staff is extremely friendly! They have great communication, sometimes there is a bit of a wait but that is to be expected! The staff here is so kind hearted and sweet! For x-rays, anesthesia, 17 stiches and medication it was only $430 and some change! I highly recommend this vet!
Dr. Browning and her staff are the most caring and compassionate people. Our animals vary from mini schnauzers to Great Danes as well as horses. So she can do it all! We have been going to her for about 7 years and drive almost an hour each way and will continue to do so because of the service we receive.
Very polite, good service, took care of my pot bellied pig before and after his surgery he was in good hands made sure they answered all my questions correctly Thank you
I needed to get my cat some fle medicine becuase the medicine she was on she was having an allergic reaction to it and was unable to get in contact with my veterinarian. I contacted Big Thicket and even though they were double booked they still fit me in and I was able to get my cat looked at. They were friendly and very helpful. They answered all my questions and was very informative. I definitely will be taking my fur babies to Big Thicket going forward.
Tell you one thing on the phone then when you drive there they tell you totally different.Told me I could get a flea pill without an appointment then when I drive all the way there was told dog needs appointment. They didn t care
I have taken a few animals of my mothers here and they were great, took my three month old pup here. We had left for the weekend and come back home Sunday to find him not being his spunky self, not eating, not wanting to do anything Monday my wife started giving him brother and Pedialyte he seemed to perk up early Tuesday morning he was no better as soon as they opened was there vet did a parvo test which was negative but said had a bad case of hook worms. ..He assured me he would be fine would have to stay one to two days on i.v. and other meds and when he was up and better start him on his shots .Wednesday and hour after they had opened my wife called to check on him and was told he was fine at one that morning but passed away sometime before they opened at eight. ...they didn't bother to call us to tell us this but instead called back to inform us we had a balance left....So it cost is $350 for them to kill out baby........Highly disappointed Very unprofessional and will never being another pet here....
I brought two 8 week old puppies I found in the middle of the road in to get looked at, the staff were very friendly and told me everything I needed to know and the care these little guys needed. They seem to be on the road to recovery thanks to the staff. I highly recommend tanking beloved pets to this facility.
I've been going to Wendy for over 5 years. I highly recommend them. They are professional, honest and very caring when it comes to your loved pet. I have nothing bad to say about them.
Great Vet! Used these guys for years for my cats, dogs and horse and I trust no one else with my pets. Proven to me time and again how good at their job they are. Caring and compassionate. All of the doctors are great in the office in Big Thicket. No experience with the one in new caney.
I took my German Shepherd to big thicket because she had a terrible rash and her skin was starting to turn black. The vet told us that it was just dry skin and whatnot. She gave us this conditioner, which obviously didn't work. We then took my dog to Cleveland Animal Hospital and they told us that her rash was obviously mange, which was confirmed after a test. Big Thicket is NOT reliable. The price for the visit was also very high. Even though we had an appointment, we had to wait a very long time for what was supposed to be a short visit. I would never recommend Big Thicket.
I used to come to this vet mostly for coggins and minor things but I had some Horses I needed seen and treated. This clinic wouldn t even let me let them out of the trailer and did minimal treatment for them. Glad I hauled the horses to another clinic and get the horses the treatment they needed. I won t be back to this clinic.
I used to use another Vet in town but had trouble many times getting in.....I ve taken my dog, cat and horse and they ve all been well taken care of and the DVM s are very thorough
The wait time to be seen was a little long for a scheduled appointment but the staff was Uber friendly and made us feel really comfortable and I would definitely continue bringing my pet kids here! The vet was so sweet and very thorough she made me feel at ease especially with it being my first time coming here! Prices are definitely reasonable here so that is also a definite plus!
After some really bad experiences with other nearby vet clinics, the service here was so refreshing. They were so kind and helpful. Our dog had gotten hit by a car just before Christmas and was in desperate need of help and they were so reassuring and helped him to a full recovery
Decently priced, provides great service, love both the females Vets they are so very nice. They have always been super helpful. I have had several dogs cared for here they are wonderful people.
Dr. Stevenson saved my dog's life. She needed emergency surgery and he took her right away. Without him, she would have certainly been euthanized. I am very grateful for his kindness and expert work!
I have brought two of my dogs to see Dr. Stevenson at both locations now(New Caney and Cleveland) and he has been great both times. The first time was for one of my dogs that has a luxating patella and he was very gentle during the exam and very sweet with my pup. This second time was after my other small dog was attacked by a neighbors dog. She did not seem to be seriously injured as she only had a few small shallow bites or scratches, but the vet tech discovered that she had broken a tooth somehow during the fight. The vet tech showed me exactly which tooth and explained the price difference between having the tooth sealed versus having it extracted. I chose to have her tooth extracted. It ended up being a difficult extraction, but Dr. Stevenson did great. I was worried that it would end up costing more than I could afford since it took more work than anticipated to extract the tooth, but my bill ended up being less than the estimate. Plus they got her up to date on her vaccines and it was still cheaper than just the tooth extraction estimate. She is recovering faster and better than I had expected. Based on my two appointments with Dr. Stevenson I would recommend him to anyone with small dogs who is worried or anxious about having a small dog treated accordingly.
We moved here five years ago and have been using Big Thicket for our pets ever since. I lost one of my girls a year ago and the doctor was so caring and compassionate. It really touched my grieving heart. All of the doctors are very knowledgeable and I never doubt any information they give me. They take time with the patient parents and explain everything thoroughly. I would recommend them highly.
Great group of people working here. have used them for many many years and have been pleased with them very good with the animals and patient with me and answer any questions I have nicely love the extra touches they give cards and emails for birthdays and sympathy when a member has passed lets you know they care
Late day emergency requiring them to stay 1 hour late. They worked my dog in and did her surgery and had me on my way in 1 hours time. These folks are the best. Give them your business.
I've been going to this vet clinic for 9 years and have brought in many dogs... strays and my own pets. Everyone is so nice. My main vet is Dr. Hunt and she's always willing to take whatever time is needed to answer questions. They are also reasonably priced for vacation boarding, surgeries and meds. I've seen farm animals there too getting their vaccinations and illnesses cared for. The staff is all knowledgeable and helpful and I've even been able to bring in all 4 of my dogs at the same time for their exams. Their online portal let's you keep track of your pets and make appointments there too if you like.
From the moment we walked in the door until we left they were nice sympathetic and very professional with my Carla faye she's a little puppy she had never been away from the house and these are the first people that she had come in contact with other than my wife and I they made her feel very comfortable very calm and they fixed her right up and I'm really glad I went there I believe they saved her life thank you big ticket
Dr. Zach and Dr. Wendy are two of the most caring people I've ever had the fortune to meet. Not only do they care about their patients, they care for the owners as well. The staff is absolutely the finest people you would want to take care of your animals. They treat them as their own!
This place is so unprofessional went to take a coggins in for a three hour test seen a donkey that they geldid in was a horrible site when then got done it looked liked a dog got a hold of it he was just standing there pouring blood the vet stayed outside smoking then after waiting four hours on a test the vet jumps in her car an at 3 o clock an the Secretary had to call her back she left with my coggins to mail it now why would I drive for a hour to have a quick coggins done sit there all day for it to be mailed this place is a joke
They always take their time explaining things to me & all the treatment options with no pressure. They treat my Gracie Mae (toy Chihuahua) as if she is their only patient. All the staff is amazing & very helpful. Thank you!
I have no complaints. Everyone is friendly and they all really love our pets and that shows, and that makes a difference. Thanks for taking good care of my fur babies!
I brought my Frodo (feline) to them with a broken femur. I have a stabilized colony of strays that I keep current and felt like they showed more empathy than my current vet. I'm considering making a change.
The vets & staff at Big Thicket are the best. We have using them for years in good & bad times for our fur babies. They have been patient, compassionate, understanding, & always take time to explain everything. I cannot say enough good things about them! Thank you, Big Thicket!
Thwy have wonderful doctors there for my animals. There patient with some of my higher strung pets. Like Turd the cat quite well. There lazer surgical technic to spay or neuter your animals is quite worth the xtra little money. I have had many animals fixed . And the laser is deginately a great plus for your pet. The healing time is much faster and way less painful for your pet. Check it out if you get a new added member to your family. Sincerely Michelle
I just called to ask about shots for 1 dog and receptionist said $148.00 That's is Pricey for Only Shots , plus hang up on me so Rude . I don't know why people recommend this place.
I cannot say enough about this Clinic Team and Dr. Wendy. If there were more stars I would give them. I knew they did not typically take my breed of animal but after trying 10 other clinic who did with no luck I called to beg for a chance. They agreed to see my precious Daphaney and do what they could. They got her right in and did their best! In the end the best was to not allow her to suffer anymore. HUGE thanks to Dr. Wendy and her Team. The amount of care and attention we got here was unreal, truly compassionate people who care for animals. We were a total random hot mess of a client today and they took it in brilliant stride. We left with an air hug, tears and a casket that had her name and a heart on it, I mean who does that. Amazing!!!! Obviously we would have loved a different outcome, but if this is the way it was going to be, I would not have wanted to be anywhere else. Thank you!
Other then my vet and vet assistant this place is very unprofessional! As for the young brunette assistant she needs to find a new career because obviously caring for sick animals is not for her if she thinks it's OK to speak the way she does to the animals owners! An for the girl in the camo shirt with the badly done tattoos all up in down her arms she needs to get some training in how to be a productive and efficient receptionist! I brought my sick dog in with exploding diahhria for an appointment at 1:30 an did not leave till 3:20 when I was the first appointment after lunch. After the vet was done with me I went to check out an patiently waited for the lady in front of me to check out even through the receptionist was taking her sweet time. Then as I'm waiting a lady walks... no pet, no emergency but for dog food an instead of checking me out next when I obviously have been waiting before the lady even came through the door she assists the lady with dog food and dnt even acknowledge that I had been standing there! Then walks off while I'm still standing there waiting to check out an my poor dog has an accident!!! Then as I take a phone call telling my husband "I'm waiting an I'm trying to get outta here" the young brunette girl rudley speaks over me while on the phone who BTW just walked into work and trys to argue with me and calls me rude! Lemme tell U something my dog might as well be my child and if he's sick an having to have an accident because I'm having to wait while y'all check out other ppl who came after me for DOG FOOD!!! U DAMN RIGHT I WILL BE RUDE! DO YOUR JOB OR GET OUT OF THAT LINE OF WORK! This was my frst AND last visit at this clinic an its a shame beacuse i did like the vet! They really need to reevaluate their employees... alll of them before they lose a lot of money because of disrespectful an unprofessional staffing.
