Beautiful place Big Bear. The visitor center is very nice and they give you very good information. And if they bring older people it is a good place to leave them and rest or make a technical stop. It has public toilets.

I can honestly say this is the very first visitors center I've had a good experience with. In fact, they were very friendly and most helpful. Go figure huh? These places are normally quite unfriendly in my experience..

The Big Bear Visitors Center and Chamber of Commerce are located in the same building. Public restrooms on the outer side of building and free 24 hour parking in this nice lot. (Part of the Village area)This location also used, for outdoor events such as the chile cook off, and the recent 50K fishing tournament awards ceremony.

I visited to get a lifetime pass but they said I didn't need one. After I left I discovered I did need the pass. So don't leave without one. Seniors, Military, and Disabled get discounted to free passes. Check it out online at the U.S. Forest Service website before you go. Wifi can be spotty in Big Bear. Don't forget to leave a donation!

Awesome place to get info in town. The moment we walked in a woman was offering to be of assistance. Two ladies were giving information over the phone at the front desk and a man assisted us while we were looking at the pamphlets. Very helpful since some of the things we were planning were not available that day like the trolley and the Museum.

Beautiful in side and out
Just out the discovery center on the other side of the lake. Get maps you will love this area if you are into the outdoors. Plenty to do and enjoy.

Helpful. Still don't really recommend big bear. Yeah it is close to LA but didn't like it. Maybe it was better before the drought. I don't know. Just don't see myself going back unless someone else pays.

There isn't much here that you cannot find inline but there was an employee who was ready to answer any questions we had. The center also provides a number of local brochures, business cards and a lengthy visitor guide.

Book elsewhere if you have family with you. They don't tell you that only 1 caR peRmit is available. We drove in from out of state to find that the second car was not allowed. They told us to call the big bear visitors center to find elsewhere to park. DONT BOTHER, we were told they no longer do referrals.

World mark is dOwn the road and the rooms are huge and beautiful. There is NO limit oN the parking spaces and NO permits are needed. It is close to Vons, Big Bear Lake and ski resort.

We will NEVER book here and hope others are aware.

This has to be your FIRST stop when visiting Big Bear Lake. The staff is very knowledgable and will help make the most out of your visit whether for the day, weekend or extended stay. Plenty of resources like brochures, maps and flyers for current happenings. If you are a hiker, they will guide you to the best trail depending on your experience. Thanks to their recommendation, I did the short hike up to the PCT, which was a great experience.

Stopped in to get advice on accomodation and general info re local area. Unfortunately the person that served us was not overly helpful and was rude. Not sure of her name but she had a feather tattoo on her right arm. She seemed more interested in trying to operate the tv in the corner then talk to us. We persevered in trying to extract the right info but were directed to the pamphlets.
She is in the wrong profession.

If you want local info, go to Big Bear Sporting Goods. Steve is super friendly and knows the area. Buy something while you re there and support a genuine mom and pop store.

A must visit. The staff there went well beyond the call of duty.We asked if they knew of any places that had kayaks available to rent and that could fit three people. A staff there named a place and even called them for us to confirm whether they had one available for to us to rent. Also, the staff mentioned that an event that was going to happened the next day and if we brought a coupon, it would be free to enter. The staff pointed out that the coupon was in a newspaper and instead of just handing the newspaper to us, the staff actually cut them out for us. The friendly and knowledgeable staff here definitely made our trip a much more pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend that you make the visitor center your first stop to not just find out information but to get coupons to various attractions at Big Bear.
