I came in looking for a helmet. The staff was willing to run back and forth to the stock room to find me the style, size, and color that I was looking for. They also had a very large selection of bikes to look at that you wouldn't find at a smaller store. When checking out it also sounded like they offer some bike mechanic classes to help you take care of your ride!

I've been here for a number of reasons, most recently to purchase a new mountain bike. BGI -- both the 82nd St. and Bike Hub YMCA locations -- is a super-friendly shop. Because they move a lot of bikes, chances are that if you have a need for any random part, they'll have it.

Some people will say you should support the little guys, and that BGI is too big. I am all about supporting moms & pops. The fun part of being a bike nerd is that visiting every bike shop in town is like digging around in the bins of various record stores. They're all unique, and all wonderful. BGI is no "Best Buy." They're local guys who have run a very successful business, and you do some bike stuff there.

The team was great! They made sure I had my new bike rack mounted on my car correctly and that my bike was secure. Friendly and knowledgeable staff took great care of me.

The largest selection in town. With three locations, this is their flagship location. The staff is knowledgeable and their maintenance department knows what their are doing. If you need shoes, clothing or fitness equipment, they have it all. Remember, they have a huge tent sale in March with hundreds of bikes and gear - don t miss!!

Wrenches did a nice job with the bike overhaul tune-up, which was on sale. Explained everything to me, answered all of my questions. A co-worker who moonlights there even took the bike to BGI for me. Great service. Thanks!

Make sure you look the bike over good before you take it home. I made the mistake in not doing this and found a couple good dings where the paint broke off when I got home.

Your service department was friendly and helpful. I was walked through the different maintenance levels, we discussed the other upgrades I wanted and everything was done very expertly.

Hands-down the best bike shop in Indianapolis! Having never owned a nice bicycle before, I was new to what options were available to me. Victor Suarez at BGI not only showed me a few different options that were available, but allowed me to take the bikes out on their test area to see which ones were the most comfortable, etc. He provided me detailed information so that I could make a value-decision on a new bike that best suited my needs. I came home same-day with a brand new road bike and love it! BGI not only has new bikes, but has a ton of accessories for anyone's needs, as well as a service facility to keep your bike tuned up well. I highly recommend Victor, and the entire team at BGI for help with your bicycle needs!

I'm a beginner cyclist and decided to buy my road bike and accessories at BGI North. My salesperson was helpful and gave me pointers that have been useful. Overall, a good experience. All my questions were answered and they had everything I needed.

Had great experience at this store. Walked in to a beautiful store and was greeted by a freindly sales person who asked " how may i help you". I told her i was new in town and just wanted to get my bike looked over to see if everything was ok. I meet Josh who is a one of the service managers and he made me fill out a general paper and said he would give me a call when my bike was ready. Half an hour later i got a call saying that my chain wasn't in urgent need of changing but it was coming close. Asked the price and decided to have a new one installed. The whole process was easy and fast and was riding my shinny clean bike within the hour.

Excellent and quick service. Right at my appointment my bike was ready and was given instructions in a friendly way when asked for help.

They had a great amount of bikes, and only the best brands. They also have bike helmets, which I recently purchased, and it is very protective. The best part about this place is that they let you test ride as many bikes as you want for no fee at all. Because of this, I was able to find the perfect bike for me, which is a highly recommended Cannondale Quick CX 5. Although this place is relatively pricey, they give you nothing but the best quality, great service from the employees (who are all very nice), and simply a great experience overall. Can't wait to come back and learn even more about bikes!

You couldn't ask for a better bike shop. Friendly, knowledgeable, and quick service any time of year. They're honest and have a great selection of products which they are happy to special order if it's not in stock.

I understand they may not be the cheapest place in town, but retail is tough these days, and the service and knowledge they provide is worth the MSRP. They strike that balance of upscale fitness store and bike shop down the street, really giving the best of both worlds in each regard. Come here for fair prices and great service.

The folks that helped me buy a bike trainer were very helpful. I purchased a nearly complete set up, with the small exception of a wheel block for my front wheel, which we thought would be included in the Kickr Core. Overall, I m happy with my purchase.

Horrible customer service came in the store with my friend no one acknowledged us and after waiting 15 - 20 minutes for a sales person she passed is up and waited on someone else. Will not return.

I like many others decided to splurge for a new bike in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to a shortage and bike companies temporarily shut down, I had to wait a while for my bike but so glad I did. My Electra Townie 7D EQ is so beautiful and comfortable and the completely contactless service from BGI was fantastic. Thanks, BGI!

North side store. Very helpful determining the best size for me. Nice area to try out the bicycles. Very friendly and patient staff, I tried out 3 different bicycle/size combos. I've had a Giant Escape for a year and a half now. Had a couple of minor issues with the bike and when I took it in, they put it on the stand, found the problem, repaired it and I was in and out in a few minutes. I would highly recommend BGI.

These folks didn t just repair my E bike they improved it. They did excellent work at a very fair price. Two thumbs up!

Came to your tent sale event. Greeted at the door by sales associate and a factory rep. They patiently answered all of our newbie questions and we left with two new bikes and accessories. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, from the sales associates to the technicians and cashiers. It was a great experience! We will definitely recommend anyone to visit BGI.

Great experience. My wife and I are new to riding, walked in and within the first minute someone came up to us offering help. The employee ended up spending over an hour with us talking about the different bikes and their uses, as well as taking a few of our top picks out to test ride. After purchasing the bikes we had two other employees help us fit both bikes into our small car. Will definitely be back for any other biking needs

Our first experience with BGI was exceptional, and we definitely plan on going back for all if our cycling needs. We recently made the decision that we wanted to get back into leisure cycling, and because neither my husband or I like the aesthetic of cruisers, we had been looking at hybrid bikes instead. We were paired up with Lucas upon entering the store, and he listened to what we were looking for and took stock of what we planned to use our new bikes for. Unfortunately, due to COVID, they were all out of hybrid bikes (both from selling out and manufacturing delays), and would be until the fall most likely. Instead he showed us some comfort bikes that were not in the cruiser style, and proved to be very knowledgeable about both the products, their uses, and proper fitting. Another thing we appreciated was that he did not direct us to highly priced bikes, and told us that if we really want hybrids, we should wait and not just buy bikes for the sake of getting bikes. If you have been out of the bike world for a while and looking to get back in, I would highly recommend BGI and working with Lucas if he is available.

Ben May did a fantastic job showing me options on gravel bikes, took the time to explain the differences between different brands and models, listened to what I had to say and made very good recommendations. I was very impressed with his knowledge, patience and helpful and friendly attitude. I am extremely happy with my new bike and will continue coming back in for my biking needs. You guys did a great job and I feel like I got an awesome bike at a fantastic price!

As far as bike shops go, you probably won't find any better than BGI. They're a little expensive, but you get quality. I bought my bike here a couple years ago and they were super helpful in getting it all setup for me. I come here frequently to buy equipment and they have a nice selection and helpful staff. If you join their e-mailing list, occasionally they send out coupons as well, which is nice.

Service was very good. Delivery was prompt, on time, as as stated. Very easy purchase process.

First, I wish to thank them for taking my old bicycles. I hope someone will find a good use for them. Next, I found their employees to be very courteous and helpful.

I have been going to BGI (the downtown Hub) for more than two years, and I cannot say enough good things about their service! My ride is older, which concerned me. However, the mechanics at BGI get it running smoothly within very little time.

My wife and I are novices when it comes to riding bicycles for exercise. Tyler was excellent at explaining to us what we would need, and listened first to what we were looking for. We got to test ride many bicycles before we made a purchase, and we walked out of the store not only with our purchase, but with a bunch of extra knowledge about what we would need to enjoy our investment! Furthermore, the service station is awesome at checking everything out. We will definitely return if we need anything!

My step father is an avid bike rider and loves BGI. I live in the Philadelphia area and ordering an online gift card is perfect for him for the holidays.

Charged me the price of delivery for something that was never delivered and then fixed the issue by refunding the full amount. Bit of a hassle - wish it could've worked out but at least they fixed their mistake.

I brought 3 bikes in for tune-ups. They charged me $266. A lot of money but I didnt have time to shop around and needed it done right the first time. I had them install a new kickstand on one and as I unloaded the bike from my van into my garage, the kickstand fell off. I tried to re-attach it but could not. I had to load the bike back in the van and drive back to the store and have them fix it (again). Not happy.

I expected better quality work from this business.

I don't know much at all about bikes. I knew how much I wanted to spend on one, that's about it. I wandered around for a while before an employee acknowledged me. The store didn't seem all that busy, but I did stand by the bike I wanted to test ride for quite some time prior to an employee approaching me. She was helpful enough, not super friendly, she did try to upsell me on lots of accessories. She did make sure I got a good test drive with the bike I chose. Overall I wasn't super impressed with the customer service at all, but I am happy with the bike I chose.

Ordered new shoes and peddles for a birthday present. She loved them. Great products and the service was perfect. I could not ask for anything more. Thank you

BGI has a great deal of product on hand from clothes to bikes to accessories. Their staff are all into biking and are very knowledgeable. Not to be missed is their semi-annual tent sale. Loads of great deals there!!

Great selection of bikes, the staff was courteous and very knowledgable as I am not a serious rider, more for leisure and a little exercise, they helped find the right bike for me, would recommend to anyone, whether your a seasoned rider or new to the game, and ask for Patrick, he was awesome!

This place is better than any national chain. Workers are knowledgeable and prices are fair. I've purchased multiple bicycles and now a rowing machine. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I highly recommend checking BGI out.

First class associates. Frank did my fitting and is a wealth of knowledge. I like that he knows the history behind most things bicycle and explains how to best maximize my bike. He puts safety first and that is a huge plus. The bike carrier guys were super helpful and explained the little things behind each type of carrier. The last face I see when I leave BGI, Kate "Blanchett" (not her real last name) she is very helpful and always has a smile. The biggest thing. I was in during the sale, along with a million others, and I never felt that I was being rushed or my questions were an inconvenience to anyone I spoke with. Staff is very knowledgeable and eager to help. Inventory is a little misplaced in chaotic on the wall but a wonderful selection. Being able to ride your bike before you buy it is definitely awesome.

Fast, friendly and knowledgeable service. I had a new bike seat installed and was shown various options to train in the winter. I feel confident going back to BGI if I need anything fitness related.

Stopped in looking for a 20" bike to surprise my son for his 6th birthday. Had done some research online and thought I knew what I wanted at my $300 price point. Preston was extremely helpful showing me the bikes in that category and discussing the features and size differences.
Stopped in later that day with my son and Preston very quietly helped me get him on the bike and even a test ride without making it obvious that we were buying a bike. We acted as if we just wanted to know what size a bike a 6 year old needs and kept him distracted talking about Legos and other things he likes.
In the end ended up with a Giant bike for him that should fit him for years to come at a $70 savings over the Trek which didn't fit quite as well. Preston made that experience for us and I can't wait to give Trent his new bike.

The customer service we received here has been above and beyond expectations. We were very grateful to Jeremy, Amy and Adam for their help with the Saris 3 Bone we purchased. Jeremy helped us choose the right bike rack for our vehicle, and taught us how to put it on our vehicle. Amy sent new straps to us overnight when the straps broke 4hrs into a 10 hr road trip. And when we brought the 3 bone into the store after our vacation, Adam was quick to replace the entire product when we asked for a piece that we thought was missing. They made a difficult situation much easier.

The equipment was delivered on time and put together well. When there was some confusion as to additional equipment I thought we had purchased, they made some calls and quickly had a solution. They stayed late and installed the additional equipment right away. I am very pleased with the quality of the equipment. It functions as promised and is very easy to use. I would definitely return for future purchases and highly recommend BGI!

My wife and I traveled up to BGI Indy North from the Louisville Kentucky area during their Labor Day Sale and was able to purchase an E-Bike for my wife and unfortunately we were not able to come back to pick up a bike for myself that weekend. I did travel there again on business and contacted Abby to see if I could get a discount on the price as I explained that I had missed the Labor Day sale, so I came back into the store and test rode the bike and I new that this was the one that I wanted. I did not purchase it at that time and ended up contacting Ben a few weeks later and he was able to confirm that the bike was still there and he was also able to work with me a little bit more on the price. So we ended up driving there the next day and was able to purchase the bike. I am very satisfied with our purchases and we are looking forward to many miles of riding together. I know very little about bikes, except how to ride them. I went in to get service on my daughter's bike and to buy a new bike for my son. The salesperson I spoke with was very helpful to me and was always mindful of the price-point I mentioned to him. BGI was prompt, both in getting the one bike serviced and getting the other ready for pickup. I was very pleased with my overall experience at BGI.
