We were promptly placed at a window table upon request. We ordered their cheese and olive platter which was exceptional, and the nice gentleman explained the cheeses. He did an excellent job. Our waitress was very nice, but as the evening progressed the service she provided got slower and slower. There was way too much time between menu selections that we had finished; and we waited forever for the lasagna dinner. The lasagna was very tasty, but we were a bit irritated by this point so it wasn't the experience we were hoping for on our anniversary. For a pricey meal you would expect better service.

great drink specials during happy hour, even on weekends! smaller portions on food/draft beer but that is too be expected at most fine dining venues. Superb surroundings complete with a cheese bar!

We were here New Year's Eve and had a wonderful experience. My first, but the friends I was with had been here many times and love it here. Our waitress was absolutely amazing the entire evening. The food was delicious. Overall the I would definitely rate this a top notch experience and will be back for more of their amazing food!

I cannot say enough about the food at Bice. Absolutely delicious. I'm from NY where we have some pretty awesome Italian food but this place was head and shoulders above anything I've ever eaten on the island of Manhattan. If you are in San Diego don't miss dining here. You will not regret it.

Bice Ristorante is an authentic Italian restaurant in San Diego. We came here on a whim and it was absolutely fantastic. I had a meat stuffed tortellini (my favorite pasta dish) and it rivaled those I get back home from my 100% Italian family. Being an Italian with roots to central Italy, and growing up on homemade Italian food, it's a breath of fresh air to eat at a place that takes the culture seriously! I recommend this place to anyone who wants the experience, a glass of wine, and an authentic Italian dish.

I came here for the first time last week with a client from out of town. We actually found this place while walking 5th Ave which is way too touristy and noisy for a Saturday evening. We had great service and the seafood was pretty good especially since I'm more of a steak person. Love the atmosphere and that it's right in Gaslamp so it's close to all the bars and hotel.

Worst place, very loudly!!! The owner was rude and even more rude with the waiters. The food quantity was very less. My friend ordered the pasta with vegetables and he got charged $9 extra for vegetables without informing him during the order.

This place was Excellent! We used a Groupon and I am so happy were bought that. It gave us the opportunity to try so many things we may not of otherwise. The Buratta cheese they bring to your table at the beginning is some of the best stuff I've ever had and also now a new obsession. Their lobster pasta was some of the best I've had although I don't ever care for that prep of lobster. It seems like a waste of a good thing all by itself. But there was tons of lobster and it was cooked well and flavorful! I had the beef and mushroom ravioli! That was excellent and the beef inside the ravioli was clearly present and very tender! I love being down town and also at a nice restaurant with big windows. The waiter at times seemed disinterested when I asked for recommendations but, I felt we did pretty well with what he suggested and our own choices. I can't wait to get back to this place the food was top notch and it's a great place for high class Italian food!

Fabulous Italian restaurant. Excellent food service and atmosphere. Love their salads bread and tomato sauce. The beef ravioli is to die for! Highly recommended! I will revisit any time I visit San Diego! I wish they were in Pittsburgh! 3 Yums Up!

The craftsman style decor was very attractive. The service was good and my swordfish was prepared perfectly. The view out the window across the golf course was pleasant. We would return for an occasion that warranted the expense

Our visit, I hope, was a-typical. Made a reservation 6 as we were in all day meetings. Arrived 15 minutes before to let them know we were there and were told we should have arrived closer to our time and that they wouldn't have seating for at least another 30 minutes for us. (why make reservations?). Then drinks were wrong, two recommended bottles of wine weren't available, and 3rd bottle wasn't good at all. Near the end the mixed drinks for some in the group became sour and we found that they had run out of an ingredient ... those drinks were comp'ed. All in all we were not impressed and due to the staff attitudes in general (our waiter did try) I can't recommend. My hope is that our experience was a one off an you'll fair better.

Loved their veal lasagna!!! And their grilled octopus salad is divine! I loved the restaurant and service but the ambience sucks! People there were incredibly loud and we couldn't sit and talk for long really we just quickly ate our food and left.

Every dish was fantastic and the service (aside from our initial wait after seating) was excellent.

Meal highlights:

1. Bread basket: WOW. I have never been to a restaurant that put so much effort into their complimentary bread selection. Great and delicious variety. The bread also came with a scoop of creamy butter sitting in a pool of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

2. Cheese platter: Bice's award winning cheese bar did not disappoint. We ordered 7 cheeses of the chef's discretion for $24. The cheeses themselves were exciting and came with some dried fruits and an amazing Italian raisin bread. Try it!

3. Beef Tenderloin Medallion: at this point in the meal, the lady and I were quite full, but we left this plate spotless. The beef medallion was pink and juicy throughout with a nice sear around the edges. The garnish/sauce atop the beef was phenomenal and added a perfect crunch to the steak. Mashed potato and Brussel sprouts complimented the meat perfectly.

Honorable mention:
We had a shaved steam octopus appetizer that tasted like no octopus we've ever had before. I loved this dish and would definitely recommend it. Ask your waiter, because this was not on the normal menu. It was a part of the chef-inspired 4-course wine pairing meal.

I highly recommend this place. It can be pricy, but it is worth it.

Speaking of price though, I am interested to see and plan to check out their happy hour.

Went for Happy Hour on Friday and enjoyed the quality of food and service at a good price. Been here for dinner before and the food/service then was also excellent. Seating was comfortable, did not receive one of the tapas but it was removed from the bill for us. We ordered several rounds...

The ravioli is a dream, the atmosphere is romantic, but laid back, mind you I was here for Comicon so most places have a very relaxed dress code during comicon. This is by far the best restaurant I've eaten in while in San Diego, highly recommend you visit.

If you want true Italian cuisine as they do it in Italy, not as it has been interpreted in Americanized Italian restaurants this is the place. Food is excellent, service is very good. Wine list is incredible. I highly recommend BICE!

You guys! They have a cheese bar! The service is excellent and the food is great! The sommelier was out of the wine ordered so he gave us a bottle much higher up the list. Did I mention the cheese bar?

The owner of BICE who is also a great chef taught us how to make lobster bisque, grilled shrimp, an amazing italian quiche and panacotta of different flavors all in 3 hours. He is amazing teacher and always gives amazing cooking hacks, the food came out amazing .
Cannt wait to make my own food that I learned in the cooking class
Again loved everything about the class

Such a nice restaurant! Great atmosphere, great service, and great food. I honestly had to take a guess at my order because it's not in English, but the descriptions are usually enough. Very expensive in my opinion, so keep that in mind. Definitely worth checking this place out. Server was something like Fillipo.

Celebrated my wife's 74th birthday at A. R. Valentine and had a great time. Each of the 8 of us agreed the food and service were excellent. I and two others enjoyed the duck confit recommended by the server, and it was the best I've ever had--by far! We have eaten there several times, always a wonderful experience. Food and..

I've been to Bice many times throughouqt the years and have never once had anything but an outstanding experience. The service here is second to none and just recently I went with a girlfriend who not only was a military veteran but was also celebrating her birthday. The bartenders and wine specialist were superb ...they brought out desserts and drinks, personal messages, and had us laughing the entire night. It's rare I write reviews but Bice has earned it over and over again. If you're in San Diego, make the stop. Great location, great food, and great service. Special thanks to Piero, Alex, and Paolo.

You can't go wrong with Bice. Good italian food. Some of the dishes are non-traditional but there are great standards on the menu. The home-made gnocchi are amazing. Great atmosphere.
