One star because I can t go lower. Where to start with how horrible this place is? Oh, I know, Admissions. The Director Deena is childish and unprofessional! She wouldn t take our calls to tell us herself that they would not take my sister for care because she was a more difficult case. Prior to this, she had us running around for 6 weeks, yes 6 WEEKS, getting documents she said I just need this one thing and we re good . Time for a new job honey, you are too childish and unprofessional to work with the public.

This is the very best place for rehabilitation bar none. I was there after my left hip replacement last October and I am going back next week after my right hip replacement. Staff is wonderful from the nurses, aides, PT', and OT's. Food is great and everyone is helpful and friendly. No matter where you have your surgery this is the place to go after.

My husband is a patient at Bethel Health Care for 13 days now for rehab after heart surgery. The health care providers and all the therapists are wonderful. Every one of them were very attentive to his needs. I chose Bethel Health Care because we recently moved to Danbury and it is close to home making my visits to him close by. Not only was it close but I was glad I chose this facility because of the excellent care he has been given. He just said to me recently this was a good choice you made . He is being discharged tomorrow and he will be leaving strong and positive from his care here. He even said the food was good. Lol
Thank you to all who cared for him and for making his stay at Bethel Health Care a great stay during his rehabilitation.
Best regards,
The Russo s

My mother was with Bethel Health Care in January this year. Nursing staff was very attentive - always on top of her needs. She had a lot of pain from surgery and unexpected findings, nursing went above and beyond to ensure her pain was well controlled and Rehab is second to none! The facility is clean and inviting. She is now home doing well thanks to Bethel Health Care!

My mom has been to Bethel Health Care a couple of times for rehab. Each time, we are more than pleased with the level of care and compassion the staff demonstrate in taking care of her. They accommodate every request. In addition, the meals they provide her are almost always above average. Thank you for helping mom through her difficult times

Should be CLOSED DOWN, ZERO STAR RATED! My Dad end...

Should be CLOSED DOWN, ZERO STAR RATED! My Dad ended up dying here. My family left him at 6:30PM AND a few hours later he had problems breathing. He had aspirated food from his feeding tube. His roommate tried to get help several times and he was told to go back in his room. Finally, swearing at them, someone came and realized Dad was in distress. He went sepsis and roommate was admonished for swearing.

ROOMS: Extremely small. A curtain separates other person from your loved one. You can pay the extra fee for private room. One chair only in room for loved ones half of room.Heating system has issues. Rooms are either over the top boiling hot or very cold. Again, no one cares, told to open a window. IF your loved one takes a turn for the worst, the roommate gets to experience the pain and suffering, perhaps for days, from all of their family members in their room. Only exception is a long term resident who belongs in the room. The dying person would be moved somewhere else.

CARE: If your loved one is very ill, think carefully before considering BHCC. The staffing is inadequate. On the first floor, there are so many bedridden elderly who need care. If patient is in pull ups, they stay in urine for hours. It is a leisurely pace for care, and no one medical situation is going to move them along. Quality care is not delivered with compassion and dignity/respect.

EMPLOYEES: Staffing appears to be at a bare minimum. I had observed several employees not being friendly to a long term resident. They are busy/cannot be located in emergencies, nor do they have a sense of urgency about the emergency. Dealing with their staff is emotionally draining, as most of the time you may find yourself running down hallways looking for help. Early morning, walking down hallway past rooms, horrible stench of bowel movements permeates the air.

DYING: As stated, this is not your place for a loved one with any possibility of compromised health. They will follow doctors orders on administering meds, BUT that's all. Their workers are hardened by all the elderly barely existing in their beds. You will be experiencing your loved ones journey by yourself. Even if your need palliative care in a hospice center, don't make the mistake of trusting BHCC. With my Dad's last breath, I ran down hallway to get help. The nurse wouldn't go into room and I had to yell at her to help. When she did, she yelled at me "He's DEAD" and ran out. No "I'm so sorry" no hug, nothing. I stood in shock, disbelief of Dad passing and what I just experienced.

FOOD: Not nutritional, white bread used for sandwiches. If you expect your loved one to get stronger on healthier meals, it won't happen here.

CLEANLINESS: Unacceptable. Pads used to support my loved one, had poop smeared on them from someone else. As with everything else, the bare minimum staff (probably allowed by law) is around. The grounds are cleaned and have a few benches around. Wheel chair of roommate was used to toss urine soaked pull ups/blankets/sheets. Left for hours, resident was unable to move or use their wheel chair. After bringing to several staff members attention, nothing was done. I finally tossed everything off into hallway so roommate could use his wheelchair.

I stayed with my vulnerable loved one around the clock for three days. My loved ones roommate was a very kind, considerate person. He went for help when my loved one experienced problems. No one came. He went several times and finally started swearing to get attention. The roommate was admonished for swearing AND my loved one got needed help. Had it not been for his attention, the end would have come sooner with unbearable suffering. Again, do not allow someone you love who has health issues into BHCC. Personally, I would not trust my dog to their care because my dog is special and would require special care and will become just "another animal". Sad but true.

My mom was there for knee surgery last year she had a wonderful experience. From the nursing staff to therapists she was treated with kindness and respect. The therapists know exactly what they are doing and they are very encouraging making her road to recovery a little easier, which also played a part in making her decision to go have her other knee surgery and back to Bhc for a second time. She wouldn't have it any other way.

One off my children had work at Bethel health Care and had a very difficult time with Management and staff. The head directors would consistently lie to residents and staff to get what they want or to keep people quit. There was always inconsistent communication from directors and the staffing was always short over worked and the facility is very unsanitary. All about getting you in, getting your money and giving you as little as possible. I have heard nothing but horror story's about Bethel Health Care and would not recommend this place to anyone.

My son Scott was transferred to Bethel Healthcare about two weeks ago. What a blessing. I have never seen a more caring and thoughtful staff of trained professionals. They work together they are a team. Ther orientation is too find out how to best care for their patients and then guide them forward to succeed. Each department excels. The rehabilitation teams the nurses the aides all take pride in their passion to care for their patients.

The organization is catastrophic. Poor management. All corrupt and based on politics also very biased and personal. Management is racist and predjudice against foreigners. No chance of success. Unstable employement.

My daughter chose BHC because she researched and it has the highest ratings. I have been here quite a while and my experience has been excellent. This place is clean, orderly, pleasant. The staff is fabulous. I am treated with dignity and consideration. People are courteous and caring. I am very fortunate to be here. I am a retired nurse and worked in nursing homes most of my career, so it is easy fro me to critique this facility. I am so glad my daughter chose this facility, this is my home and I love it. Also, the food is fabulous here and restaurant quality. I would definitely recommend this facility due to it's high very high caliber. Thank God I am here. Nursing staff top notch. Caring, giving, dependable. I put my complete trust in them and have never been disappointed. I am happy to be here! For me it is a blessing to be here in my old age. I feel safe being here, despite in the middle of the pandemic. Thank you so much.

Unanticipated events occur in our lives that require quick responses. The one that confronted me was the need to select a rehab facility after undergoing emergency surgery. There was no question in my mind that Bethel health Care Center was my number one choice for a number of reasons. I knew that their therapy department was highly rated. In addition, some friends had stayed at the facility with favorable comments. Whenever I would visit them, I was impressed with the overall appearance and the degree of cleanliness at the center. My time here has definitely reassured me that my choice was the right one. The personnel at all levels has been professional, friendly and always willing to help. The most perfect example is my PCT, Tom Tehan who couldn't be more helpful in every way.The therapists have been working patiently and diligently with me every day with positive results. Consequently, I must say that I am most appreciative of the love and care extended to me at Bethel. Thank you so much! Mildred Gallik

My 90 year old mother was here in August of this year for a broken hip.She had been here previously about a year and a half ago. The staff including therapists, recognized having her before and were all very welcoming. She felt comfortable and safe and had another great stay at Bethel Health Care. She says she wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Coming from my mother, this is a great testament to all who work at BHC. Thank you all for the dedicated and caring work you all do, especially during these trying times of Covid 19. Sincerely, Joe Olivo

This place needs to be shut down. People in prison get treated better than they do at Bethel Health Care Center. They neglect their patients, and getting anyone on the phone to help is impossible!! The Administrators and supervisors NEVER return phone calls, and are always "in meetings." They must be having meetings about how to run their business into the ground, as I see their future full of lawsuits, and would I be shocked if this place is still in business 1 year from today!

My Father and Father Inlaw both spent time at Bethel Health Care Center in the last few wks of their lives. The care and support they were given was second to none. My father was a terminal cancer patient, the staff was extremely good to him. The physical therapists did an amazing job working with him and keeping his spirits up while he was there. The nursing staff was alway's attentive to his needs and alway's greeted my family when we went to visit him. My Father Inlaw was also terminal. We lost them both within 2 months of each other. The staff at Bethel Health Care Center was pretty familiar with us for a little while and I can say that we couldn't have chosen a better place for our fathers to be taken care of in their time of need. -Douglas Brown.

My uncle was at Bethel Healthcare during COVID. There were many steps taken to keep him and the other patients safe and protected but I missed being able to see him in person because of the no visitors rule. I was able to speak with him often though. Deena, the admissions director was always willing to help me communicate with my uncle, even off hours she responded to my texts and calls. She also helped to keep me informed on his progress. The nurses were professional and caring. His therapist was persistent and patient, always pushing him to do his best. He is home now and doing great. I would recommend Bethel to friends and family with out hesitation. Bethel is the best!

I just got out of Bethel and this would be my fourth stay. I picked this facility for its physical therapy department which is phenomenal. Each and every one of the physical and occupational therapists are knowledgeable and compassionate. Little did I know that the care was way above my expectations and the nurses and staff treated me as though I were family. They are dedicated, hard working and compassionate and made each of my Four stays a happy and positive experience. Some of the people that made these experiences happy are, Nancy the concierge,Tom who literally runs the place,Christal ,Charnell,NeNe,Rena,Vicki,Linda,Josh,,Cleadeh, and Sandy in food. Please don t be mad if I didn t mention your name for you are all great people, and made my stay pleasurable. Thank you again for helping in my recovery,I wouldn t have been able to do it without all of your help.

The physical therapists offer very poor service. ...

The physical therapists offer very poor service. Basically they are THRILLED if the patient declines to do the therapy. Less work for them, right? That's the attitude. We had a VERY different experience at the two other rehab care centers my relative used in the past years. Also, some of the nurses are kind, but others are extremely cold and even mean. Stay away at all costs!!! There's a reason this place is the one that always has a bed!!

I have never been in a hospital for more than a day. Recently, I had a diabetic ulcer on my heel and was in the hospital for 8 days, and then transferred to this rehab facility. My experience has been beyond any expectations I could imagine. Every staff member is kind and shows me a level of love and compassion I have never received. From the nurses, the aides, the custodial workers, and even the cooks.....the love runs deep at this care center. Although I can't wait to finally go home to my own bed, they have made my visit here one to remember. If you ever need to go through any form of rehabilitation, considering any other place than Bethel Health Care Center is mistake. They should be your only choice - period.
