About Beth am congregation
Beth Am Congregation: A Spiritual Home for Reform Jews
Congregation Beth Am is a vibrant and welcoming Reform Jewish community located in Los Altos Hills, California. Established in 1955, our congregation has been providing a spiritual home for Jews of all ages and backgrounds for over six decades. We believe that Reform Judaism offers a path to life filled with meaning, joy, and spiritual fulfillment.
At Beth Am Congregation, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome. Whether you are new to the area or have lived here your whole life, we invite you to join us on your own personal Jewish journey. Our community is made up of individuals and families from diverse backgrounds who share a common commitment to living meaningful lives guided by Jewish values.
Our services are led by Rabbi Janet Marder and Cantor Jaime Shpall. They bring their unique perspectives and experiences to our congregation, helping us deepen our understanding of Jewish tradition while also exploring new ways of expressing our faith in the modern world.
In addition to weekly Shabbat services, we offer a wide range of programs and activities designed to engage members of all ages. From religious school classes for children and teens to adult education courses on topics ranging from Torah study to social justice issues, there is something for everyone at Beth Am Congregation.
We also have an active social justice committee that works tirelessly on behalf of those in need both locally and globally. Our members volunteer their time at local food banks, participate in marches for racial justice and climate change awareness, support refugees through advocacy efforts as well as direct service work with organizations like HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society).
At Beth Am Congregation we understand that being part of a community means more than just attending services or events; it means building relationships with others who share your values. That's why we encourage all members – whether they've been part of our congregation for years or just joined recently – to get involved in our various committees and groups. Whether you're interested in social action, music, or just getting to know your fellow congregants better, there's a place for you at Beth Am.
If you're looking for a spiritual home where you can explore your Jewish identity and connect with others who share your values, we invite you to join us at Congregation Beth Am. We look forward to welcoming you into our community!
