Best Western - Truckee Tahoe Inn Review

The Best Western hotel in Truckee is a nice hotel that I stay in during my ski trips to Tahoe in the winter and when I vacation in the Tahoe area in the summer time. The rates are are affordable and reasonable and the overall service very good. There is free WIFI in the rooms that have had a bathroom upgrade. The jacuzzi which also has been upgraded is very nice and there is a nice fire pit area that has been added. The free hot breakfast is a definite attraction.

Great location, great decor, friendly staff, convenient to freeway

Pleasant people at the front desk. Great value. I highly recommend this motel. I also like the fact that it is located a couple of miles off the freeway so that we didn't get any freeway noise. Nice and quiet.

Comfortable and clean. Huge plus on allowing dogs even though the pet fee was large. There were very few options in the area for people with pets. They put us in a dog centric area that was pretty noisy as the walls aren t very thick. Breakfast was great but crowded, even for April. There is a Tesla charging station next door. Convenient access.

Worst mattress ever! Poor quality innerspring mattress made a "crunch" sound when sitting on it to get into bed. Stayed in a king room with my companion, ad both woke up with a sore back and neck. After walking in the room with nearly new white socks for 30 minutes, the socks were filthy! Breakfast mas meh...cheese on breakfast muffin sandwich was hard and curled.

Friendly, attentive service, the feather beds are amazing, the leather chair and ottoman are really comfortable, the room had everything we needed. The facility is great overall. My favorite spot is the fire pit right near the entrance for safe outdoor relaxing at night. There are quite a few restaurants in walking distance, a grocery store (raleys o.n.e) and hardware store about 1/2 mile away, a bike trail that takes you to downtown Truckee and Donner Lake, and is also just off the freeway and road to Lake Tahoe (but not so close that you hear the freeway). Also, Tesla chargers are available if that's applicable to you.

Covid things to note: the pool was open but the hot tub was closed as were dine-in type areas. They have grab and go hot breakfast which was pretty good - tamales, bean, eggs one day and ?? the next. They also don't clean your whole room every day unless requested but will clean anything on request.

Very nice property, excellent value. Beds are exceptionally comfortable, rooms clean and attractive. Nice pub across street, downtown is 4 min away, the lake about 15 mim.

I reserved my room online. Ordered a single King-size bed. When I arrived, I received a single Queen-size bed. They would not refund me the difference in the price.

Good place to stay especially if you are going to ski in Heavenly. The hotel locates at very convenient location, staffs are very helpful, the breakfast is one of the best among hotels providing free breakfast. Room is good for family with kids as it comes as 2-queen bedroom. Overall it's a good hotel to stay at in the area.

For what it is, it's a decent hotel. It's clean, the staff was friendly and they had a decent breakfast buffet. It is next door to a couple of eateries and in general was a nice place.

It was great I love that they allow dogs they have a heated pool also people were swimming when there was snow outside. There's a nice restaurant nearby too.

The Best Western is a great place to stay for casual Elegance, comfortable beds and rooms Great Outdoor hot tub with fire for sitting with friends, great bathrooms with fans and lied that automatically come on when you enter the room.

We had a very nice stay at this lovely pet friendly hotel. The staff was warm, caring, and informative. We look forward to staying here again!

From the quick check in to the wonderful breakfast, everything about this place is great.

I stay in hotels alot, and because it is business, they tend to be the Marriott/Hyatt level of hotels. My room at the Best Western Truckee was as good and spacious as any of the high end hotels. And my 2 German Shepherds loved it too.

It's a great place to stay! Amazing restrants just minutes away! And I always look forward to the all inclusive breakfast.

I would come again in a heartbeat! The front desk staff were knowledgeable and friendly, the hotel is pet friendly, and it's located just a little bit away from Lake Tahoe.

Clean and reasonably priced with free breakfast. Beds are really strange with puffed up pillow tops. I didn't get a good night sleep.

I loved this hotel. The pool and hot tub staying open to 10pm is a nice touch. I had an 11 year old who takes every chance he gets to get into a pool, and being open to 10pm it allowed us to sight see during the day and then swim at night. The location of the hotel was great, close to the town and close to the freeway to go and explore nearby attractions. I will definitely use the Best Western at Truckee the next time I am in the area.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. It was really nice how a little light went on in the bathroom in the middle of the night, too! The breakfast was done very well with proper consideration and safety from COVID. One of the best Best Western's ever! And we stay in them fairly often.

Paid 200$ and they did not provide even lousy bottle of water! Breakfast was disgusting

We stayed 1 night. Everything was wonderful. Check-in was seamless. The remote wasn't working but the front desk traded it out immediately. We had breakfast the next morning. Food was good. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. We had no complaints and would stay there again.

Very nice hotel parking is tight, but doable, lobby and food area are very nice, breakfast ??? just that the eggs were dry and tasteless, sausage was very good, potatoes were ok as well. I'll stay there again. Nice location great restaurant across the street. I used the meeting room and it was quite and sizable, and perfect for what I needed.

This hotel was very clean and recently updated. The staff was extremely curteous and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The daily breakfast was a plus and many of excellent restaurants within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here one night while we waited for a room at another location. This place was clean and comfortable. Their food and service is good.

Room was clean. Noise in the halls on Saturday night was high until 11 or so. Difficult communicating to the housekeeping staff who did not speak English proficiently when all we wanted for them was to pick up the used towels laying on the bathroom floor (after they were finished cleaning the room). I felt the price charged for this room was high for the amenities and value received. I'd consider staying again, but only after seriously looking at other options in the Truckee area.

Best best western I've stayed in. Bed was super comfy. Rooms were good sized and well furnished. Breakfast was well stocked. Nice place overall.

This is a fantastic hotel. The beds are some of the best I have EVER slept on. The staff is amazing. The breakfast is amazing. I will definetly stay here again.

I will never stay at this establishment again let alone any best western after my experience. My credit card was charged 4 different times in a one night stay. I rented 1 single room for myself and when I woke up I had 3 other charges from the hotel on my card. When I went down to the front desk to rectify the situation I was insulted and treated harshly by the front desk saying it was my fault that I made multiple reservations For myself which is definitely not true??? They refused to refund my money and told me to call some customer support line and dismissed me. I m now stuck in California with no gas money to get home to Washington because my card was overdrafted! Absolutely horrible service and straight thievery.

I stayed here with my dog and family. The room had everything we needed for one night, my only complaint being that the bathroom door was hard to open if closed all the way. Also, the shower had no shower curtain or door so water got onto the bathroom floor which was kind of weird. Other than that, I have little complaints. For a dog hotel, it wasn't too loud, and the breakfast provided had a large variety and was decent.

Beds at this Best western are not like others. Not as comfortable. All of the staff is great at the front desk and breakfast but the food was not so good here. Location is beautiful so if you're not concerned about the bed or food I'd recommend.

Politically profiled but an unprofessional desk clerk at check in. Solely based on the state my driver's license is in I was asked, "Do you still love Trump?" As if that's an automatic question. Is that what this world is coming too and the quality of service you'll receive based on the state of your residency??? WHAT BUSINESS IS IT OF HIS WHAT MY POLITICAL VIEWS ARE????

He persisted with other political questions and I do feel the quality of service was compromised based on his assumptions and views. My bed was lumpy with feathers poking through the sheets which disturbed my sleep. The hair dryer did not work properly and the room had an odor to it. My business associate whom I was traveling with had not of these issues in their room.

At check out the girl merely handed me my statement. She did not even ask how my stay was. With the total lack of courtesy on the part of hotel staff why even bother with bringing it up with the general manager??? No point in my opinion, just state the issues here for everyone to read instead.

Convenient location, great staff, nice pool area and exterior frieplace. Comfortable beds and the little gym was adequate for what I needed.

The exterior and interior is exelent. The fire features they have around the building and pool area are really awesome as well. The spa, I have never seen a spa so big and the jets in the spa felt good. As far as my actual room. When I got inside the room looked great, nice decor and looked freshly remodeled. When I went to take a shower I could not help but notice pubic hair on the ground around the toilet, as well as some dirt and hair on the shower walls. I wear sandals in my rooms so was not to bothered by it until I pulled the blankets back on the bed and seen some hair in the bed as well. I understand people make mistakes and miss things but this was pretty gross. The coffee the first morning was cold telling me it was the day before and on check in as a rewards member who stays at primarily best western, I was not recognized again for the 2nd time I would recommend this hotel to others as this was the first time I have experienced this with a best weatern

Great location, lots of grab and go breakfast options with COVID, nice pool, hot tub was closed. Convenient that there are some dining options right across the street. I don't know why they are charging for a daily pet fee right now when they don't do any turn down service between nights, that was pretty disappointing.
