Berry Bros. & Rudd Ltd Review

What a fantastic history this place has and some fabulous wines too. We were given a wedding present of an evening meal with Bordeaux wines which was simply amazing. Our host Demetris Walter was a superb fountain of knowledge which never ceased to entertain us the whole night through. The meal was Michelin quality and the wines were some of the best we've ever had the pleasure to indulge in. I would not hesitate to return and would highly recommend this.

I had heard good things about Berry Brothers and wanted to try out their service for a gift. We had an issue this bank holiday as a very special gift I had ordered did not arrive. I spoke to Michele who was wonderful and apologized about the miscommunication between warehouse and courier service. They were able to get my wine delivered a couple of days late but were very professional and communicative throughout the process. My partner received the wonderful gift and we could not be happier.

It's was a humbling experience stepping into a company that has existed for more 5 centuries. If you want to get quality wine, spirit, whiskey, champagne, Brandy etc. This is where you should go to.

This wine shop is just unquestionably incredible. If you are looking for something very special or just a treat for a weekday night you won't be disappointed. The staff are always friendly and incredibly knowledgeable.

Great selection of fine and drinking wines with help from knowledgeable staff. Worth a look just for the austere atmosphere, and the own brand wines aren't expensive and are pretty good.

Nice place for wines, you have quality there, so don't expect to find something cheap.. definitely worth a shot if you are a wine lover!

Not much to say here as it's one of London's oldest wine purveyors and they've changed with the times a great deal having an excellent selection of affordable wines in addition to the classics. Only issue is that you'll have to wait often to get an order assembled as they have the main stock downstairs but there's not really a physical option to have it all up top. Very knowledgeable staff as well.

A superb winery with lots of rare antique wines. I bought a bottle of cutty sark from 1975 and prepared it for my father. Happy

Excellent for wine tastings, highly recommend for client entertainment. Only giving it a four because after an excellent dinner our client wanted to drink something besides wine, to find out that bar had closed 10 earlier with no prior warning. Would have been the perfect evening otherwise.

Absolutely terrible. I ordered and received confirmation of my order on Monday June 12th for a bottle of wine and a presentation box for a friends birthday. The party was Saturday so the 3 day promised delivery should be no problem. I rang Friday morning (16th) to enquire when the delivery would arrive to be told they had it down for Tuesday the 20th (over a week from order).The reason for the delay was they had held a company conference on the Wednesday ,I said this was not good enough so they said they would find a courier and deliver it on the 16th, they said they would email the details so that i could track it. No email was sent and i had to ring yet again to trace it, an email with tracking details was then sent to me. The wine arrived minus the presentation box !!!!!! All in all a very poor service from a company i will not be using again or recommending this company.

I had an impeccable experience buying a Cornas before the patron offered me brilliant advice and suggestions. My bag broke though later in Waterstones, somehow nothing broke. I wanted to make you aware of this bag issue in case it's not isolated issue

Berry Bros. & Rudd is a British wine and liquor merchant founded in London in 1698. Since then, the company has grown from a small coffee shop into an international company with six offices around the world. They have two Royal Warrants, 300 years of history and currently employs seven Masters of Wine, more than any other company in the world.

What a brilliant place! Went in yesterday to get a bottle of port valued. Lovely people who really knew what they were talking about. Huge wine selection, fantastic!

I wanted to find out what wines the shop has in stick, so I visited their website before going to their physical location in London. Unfortunately, whenever I clicked on BY COUNTRY and selected a country or a type of wine, the website would not respond to my clicking, thus preventing me from seeing their French or USA collection. Please, resolve this annoying unresponsiveness.

My wife loves sitting at the fireside with a bottle of good wine. That was the reason I visited this store. I just wanted to surprise her. Because of my total lack of information it was a very hard task. This place is full of high quality wines. The competent salesman literally became my saviour. I was impressed with his attentiveness and patient. He helped me to choose the perfect wine with intense and rich flavour. My wife loved it. I'm so grateful.

We were invited to a dinner party that was in their private dining room. The wine, food and the service - excellent. The sommelier knew a lot about the history of Berry Brothers and the wines that were served.

It is definitely a good wine source for you to drink at home or your office. Although, it's quite costly, you'll get what you paid for. You can even try out the wines with their label. It's fantastic. If you are looking for a store with a great wine selection, that this place is the one for you.

It's a shame the star rating can't be higher as I was really impressed with BB&R.
From the outside one could get the impression this is a pretentious place where only the well heeled would frequent, how wrong you would be.
This is long established business dating back centuries, the approachable and lovely staff are very knowledgeable and willing to answer the simplest of questions while having the experience to advise the most experienced sommeliers.
It's a long time since I felt so welcomed in a store without the pressure for a sale, but as this is such a fine wine shop with an amazing variety it seems a shame to visit and not to take something to quaff back at home :-)).

The quintessential wine shop in London, large choice and the staff are very attentive. First visit to the actual store as generally order online...should go more often.

Ordered a gift voucher on 9th december via the website, in plenty of time for christmas or so i thought. I was told it would arrive in 2-3 days. It's now the 19th december and it's still not here. Two phone calls to "Customer Services", the first time I was told it was dispatched on 15th december. On 18th I had an automated email to say it had been sent, and that it would take 3 working days to arrive. TO LATE.
Terrible service and ineffectual staff on the phones.

Yes this was very good. Had to wait rather a long time to be served, but helpful service. Would recommend their own Fino sherry.

Had dinner in the Georgian Townhouse at one of Berry's Dining Events, and as always, it was a lovely evening with good food, wine and convivial fellow diners. The ambience is that of a sophisticated dinner party in elegant surroundings. It certainly is one of the more unusual dining experiences, and for me at least, the best value high-end dining in London.

Expensive commission rates and VERY slow to pay. Customer service is non responsive and aloof. If you are trading or investing in wine there may be better alternatives.

Always enjoy shopping here, and the staff knowledge is excellent.

Well what can I say ... Only TOP TOP absolutely to visit.

You get the true measure of a company when something goes wrong. There was a mistake with my order and the wrong wine was delivered, a quick call to customer services and an updated delivery was made a few days later. There was also a hand-written apology note which was a very nice touch.

Great selection of wines available in amazing building, with us having a great tour of the cellars before our wine tasting and business meeting.

So helpful. I went in to buy a special bottle today and they talked me through what I wanted then recommended I wait a couple of years. The options they have for buying old wines or new wines is incredible and they have a really good storage service which is reasonably priced. I left without paying a penny today but very impressed and I will definitely be back!
