As we are nearing the end of 2018 it has been great to reflect on some of the highlights. One of the biggest and best highlights by far was attending a cookery course at the Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saison Cookery School in July this More

A fantastic experience from the moment you arrive. We spent 10 minutes in the lounge area enjoying amuse bouches before being shown to our table. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and were equally happy to make recommendations or leave us to decide for ourselves. The lunch tasting menu and matched wines were exceptional. I understand now that such dining is levels above what you're used to. We ended the experience by walking some of it off around the grounds, which were also interesting. Highly recommend going.

Outrageously expensive but oddly worth every penny for a special occasion. You go for the dining experience - tasting menu is pretty much as good as it gets, and the wine is amazing too. And the rooms are huge and luxurious, the garden and especially the vegetables are brilliant, service second to none, set in a great part of England. Treat you and someone else

Totally unbelievable place, the grounds, service, food, accommodation was one of the best experiences we have ever had in the world. The nearest place to get anywhere near this was Cape Lodge in Margaret River Western Australia. My wife also experienced the cookery school afternoon session which she really enjoyed. Totally recommend this for any couple wanting the better things in life and well worth the money

Everything about this place is beautiful. The buildings, grounds, staff and food. The service our party received was like no other. From arrival with champagne in a private lounge area, to collecting our coats and leaving - the staff could not do more for you and were professional and friendly the whole time. Absolutely faultless. Such an experience.

Just the best! Go for lunch but spend an hour walking round the beautiful gardens first, best old fashion we've ever had! Of course the food and service is exceptional but spend time after lunch to walk around the gardens again, savor the experience - it's far more than just lunch x

This was an experience not to be missed. From door to door, the staff were attentive and made us feel like royalty. Dishes were described by staff that clearly knew the ingredients and cooking processes.

Would I go again? You bet I will.

A beautiful old manor house set in lovely gardens. Every thing about it is 5 star. Had a meal here recently perfect. After the meal sat in the lounge area for coffee and finished of by walking round the gardens. Sun was out a perfect day.

What a night. A celebration of my daughter getting a first in her degree. I must mention firstly Lucas the head sommelier. Our cellar was very special to us both as we have an interest in wines. Then Durian in the kitchen for taking an interest in our reason for dining at Le Manoir. And for giving us an extra course on the house! Then Andrea for serving us so well all evening. Finally Nick for giving me a clean serviette when I got chocolate everywhere.
A superb meal . A loverly Jura wine. A night we will never forget.

A few years ago, we took a private dining room for my mother's birthday.

The grounds are stunning, the atmosphere is very tranquil and everyone makes you feel welcome.

As for the food, superb! We were treated like Kings & Queens, nothing was too much trouble. The service was impeccable.

Perfect for special occasions.

Reassuringly expensive!! Excellent ambience, amazing service and attention to detail. Food was extremely tasty and balanced and perfectly seasoned. Didn't have wine to experience the whole taste of the food . Garden was fabulous to look round ,and to see a country house garden in full use was encouraging to an amateur gardener. Sadly Mr Blanc was not in residence but this did not detract from our enjoyment. Bucket list is getting shorter but may need to add another visit to ensure our impressions were correct!!

Wonderful few days here, the garden tour is an absolute must. Only problem were the weird poached eggs at breakfast, turns out they are not actually poached, they are boiled then de shelled. Not quite what we expected !

Been three times now. Simply one of the most beautiful places I've ever eaten and simply the best food. Anyone giving it less than five stars and no write up, probably never ate there. Anyone complaining about the price, for goodness sake why did you go? You know exactly how much it's going to be and it is worth every penny! Anyone complaining about service, you are obviously impossible to please. Anyone actually complaining about the food, well ..... there are no words!

Accomodating staff, wonderful food, service was delightful and beautiful settings. I can't fault this place. All I would say is I preferred Al a carte to set menu but it's worth every penny either way.

Sublime hotel, with attentive staff and the most delightful gardens. The seven-course tasting menu was one of the best meals we have ever eaten. We ran out of superlatives! If you are planning to celebrate a very special occasion then this is the place to spend it. Not cheap, but the most wonderful of experiences.

Lovely place. Beautiful. Nice service. Very expensive just for once a year. The fire was not lit in the waiting room and was very cold outside. They didn't guide us properly into the waiting room but they apolige after and gave us a free aperitif. We expect more for the price we paid. I hope next time is more successful.

Beautiful food in a beautiful setting. The gardens are really beautiful so make time to have look around if you come and visit. Everything on the menu was perfectly cooked, and so many of the vegetables tasted so fresh as they were obviously picked from the garden

Attended for anniversary lunch. The location and the gardens are spectacular!! The service is second to none, the staff can't do enough for you. The food is amazing. We had the 5 course taster menu, and although the dishes are small, we left feeling stuffed! Overall, this was an amazing experience!

My Mum and I had the most marvellous lunch, Thank You! My experience was enhanced by my chat with some of the gardeners, as I am an allotmenteer...picked up a few tips! But the highlight of my visit was the greeting I received from M. R. Blanc, whom I met in the garden and who welcomed me like an old friend, despite the fact he had never met me before! What a lovely gesture! Thanks to all. What a lovely day!

I booked the hotel to celebrate my 40th wedding anniversary, with the main reason being the restaurant.

The whole experience was frankly outstanding. On arrival met in the car park, doors opened for us, luggage collected and shown to reception. Welcomed warmly, as soon as they knew our name, this was used throughout the stay.

Reception showed us around the hotel before taking us to our room, our luggage was already there, including the suit hanger neatly hung in the wardrobe.

Our room - Botticelli was spacious, and in one corner spiral staircase to the bathroom, this was amazing with a mural reminiscent of a renaissance painting, with his and her baths(with drapes), shower and some excellent lighting.

The bed was enormous, and comfortable the sleep quality was good, and a breakfast tea was delivered promptly at 7.30 as requested.

This hotel is faultless in their attention to detail and service delivery

We very much want to return and soon.

The food is as you would expect - fab! The service was also terrific. After lunch we explored the garden, now I wasn't expecting that! Ponds, orchards, wildflower meadow, vegetable garden and so much more. Great way to spend a couple of hours whilst your lunch goes down.

A truly exquisite and truly French experience, beautiful views wherever you are in the estate. The hotel public rooms are sumptuous, and the bar is refined in its choice of drinks and intimate layout. The grounds have to be enjoyed: even on a rainy day they are a reward to walk round.

When one expects so much, one is almost always dis...

When one expects so much, one is almost always disappointed: and such was the case with our visit to Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons. We booked a table at short notice, on the day on which we went to the restaurant and that in itself surprised me. The setting is beautiful, the garden around the house perfectly kept and it appeared to be full. We were greeted by a very smartly turned out team whose smiles were cardboard perfect but which conveyed no warmth or enthusiasm at all; the choreography was flawless, up to the point at which the maitre d hotel came over to welcome me back and asked whether I still had an allergy to scallops; well, the last time that I had been to the restaurant , my relationship with that fine mollusc was still particularly friendly. He had been fed the information by the very polite lady who took the reservation and asked if anyone in the party suffered an allergy. His performance was oily and unnecessary.

The sommelier was knowledgable and gave me some good advice with the result that the burgundy which we ordered was sublime; the only thing which was.

Our food, on the other hand was so unmemorable that I don t even remember what we ordered, except that it was eye wateringly expensive, making me feel like a complete fool for being taken for such a ride. I was not happy because my guests on that day are epicureans and the week before we had eaten together in a restaurant of equal standing, 2 Star Michelin, in London where the food was of such high quality and so well prepared, that I am still able to recite every order, starter, main, pudding and cheese which everyone had.

We were only there for dinner so I have no opinion on the hotel section except to say that it looks wonderful; and some of the other diners were staying for the night. But it is not somewhere where you feel relaxed nor comfortable; the staff and waiters are stiff, as if they are being watched, all the time.....and that rubs off on the guests.

I wish that I wasn t right and that the evening had been more memory making than it was; in reality, it was an expensive mistake, one which will not be repeated. It is not acceptable, in this day and age, to treat customers like fools. There is too much choice out there and living on past glories is shortsighted. The evening may have been an aberration but I won t go there again to find out if it was or not.

Fool me once, more fool me; fool me twice, more fool you. I ll stick to once.

We had lunch at Le Manoir on Saturday for my husband's 60th. We had an amazing time! The staff were fabulous , the food absolutely delicious. Our waitor couldn't do enough for us and made the day extra special. It is not cheap but is worth every penny for that special occasion. My only comment would be that my son and I were both driving, not once were we offered a non alcoholic drink apart from sparkling water! Just a thought!

A truly special experience to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. All the staff are professional, attentive and friendly. Seven course taster menu is outstanding, stunning food superbly cooked and presented. Breakfast equally good. Gardens lovely to explore and our room was gorgeous. Meeting Monsieur Blanc was an added bonus. Thank you so much for everything.
