A nice place to visit during autumn season, but many animals are not that active during cold season.
A nice place to visit during autumn season, but many animals are not that active during cold season.
Pandas are the best! ... but you have to be very patient to see them moving. Most of the time they sleep.
Just to see the panda...but others is empty too bad
Worst zoo I've ve been to, animals in bad exhibits and treated unkindly by visitors
Lots of animals. The zoo is very big so it will take at least half a day to see everything. Has some very nice statues also.
2 stars only because of Pandas. Rest of animals stay in poor facilities. I regret I visited more than Pandas
Experience Panda's live! Awesome experience! All other enclosures unfortunately not in good condition ...
A wonderful place. The house of the pandas is a must. But also the other areas.
I want to pay attention to the time. There is a problem when animals have time to rest.
We went to the Zoo to meet the giant pandas, unfortunately they were not on a good day and just wanted to sleep .... it is necessary to buy a special ticket to see the pandas because they are in a segregated region inside the zoo. It's all very clean and well maintained.
Nice place to visit in Beijing 6 panda are there in the Zoo
Very nice zoo. Loved the Pandas...surprise surprise
When i first come i expect nothing, my main reason come here was only to see Pandas! Because that was my third times go to China but i havent seen any Pandas, so i decided to come here.
It was so cheap only 14!!! Hahaha
I was there on winter and there are not much visitor, it was good experience anyway.
Its quite clean and signs are written in English and Chinese, so we still can understand even if we cant read Chinese.
I love this place!
Went during the off season. (Jan 14 2018) Crowds were almost non existent. This zoo has its own metro station and is very easy to get to. Rhinos, tigers and some other African animals were not on display. You'll still be able to see the pandas, monkeys and elephants.
Although it's very cheap to get in, the animal enclosures are very unkept and most animals (particularly the elephants who were in very small rooms) look unwell and unhappy
Lots and lots of rare animals, children will be happy!
Nice place to watch giant panda. Is not well maintained.
I do n t know if it s because the weather is too hot, the Lion Tiger Mountain, the Giant Panda Pavilion, the Bear Pavilion, etc. can only see one or two animals, and I feel a little disappointed. Other museums are not bad, especially the Ocean Museum. Although the tickets are more expensive (full ticket 150 / person), they are also worth a look.
There are many types of animals. If you want to be a little more serious, you can go through each museum and take a whole day.
I'm not a fan of zoos but I had to see Pandas. The areas are large and look well cared for.
Best place a family to spend during weekends.. Biggest zoo with all kinds of animals..
Very importantly "Panda Beer" ..
Not a great fan of zoos for ethical reasons. Nonetheless they can provide an opportunity to educate children. This vast zoo has many inmates from the giant panda to lions and tigers and bears - oh my! It does get rather crowded, but it's not too expensive and perhaps worth a visit if you're in town and can get over one's reservations concerning the captivity of animals in small cages.
Summer is still very suitable, the plants are quite a lot, it is best not to come at noon, the animals have to take a lunch break, hahaha
Old zoo. A lot of animals. Aquarium worth to be visited .
Extremely Crowded, very long walks are required, there is no transportation available inside the park, enclosures are great, Panda enclosure has seperate ticket, we bought the ticket but couldnt go as there were never ending ques to enter. Most of the staff does not understand english, food available is for chinese tastes, signs are english and chinese. Aquarium entry is seperate ticket to be bought inside the park.
Animals in this zoo are not the best, their terrariums are dirty and not well maintained. Pandas are the biggest attraction here, but their range is not much. In comparison with the European zoo, I would not recommend visiting.
Many empty enclosures. Everything closes two hours before the park does
Very large and wonderful. His salary is beautiful and I have many kinds of animals and birds I will visit again
It was awful. The animals are not well cared for and the zoo is not well kept.
Beijing zoo is easily reached by subway. Especially to see Panda must pay entrance fee again. Panda is a typical animal of China. Panda area is quite wide, divided into some space that is limited by glass. We can see Panda activity.
Pandas live in small and poorly adapted spaces, they need to review the care of these precious animals. I did not know the aquarium. The pandas pamper shop has affordable prices and interesting products.
Very crowded but there are plenty of Pandas to see.
The Giant Pandas are definitely the highlight here. I suggest getting there earlier in the morning so you can see them eat, and avoid the busier time of day.
We visited end October. Cheap entry fee. A lot of the enclosures were empty. It was sad to see a number of the large animals in very small spaces. The animals looked unstimulated, the elephants rocking side to side, the rhino walking around in a circle and the large cats sitting and staring at nothing. The entry fee for the aquarium within the zoo was expensive and the scenic boat cruise was not operating
Going in early September, very lively, rich in animal species
Good place, but sad to see some of the animals kept indoors and in small places.
You need a visit to several hours. Preferably boat ride.
Travelled to china and my kinds and me visited ancient zoo of China, good place for kids and has a good history in it.
It's a wonderful place, good for the children. I love Panda
Pandas are treated under international standards for animals. They seemed very stressed.
Honestly when I was there, I was slightly disappointed at the lack of organization and the large crowd there. Never less, we had a fun time going through the large variety of exhibitions. It is best that you pick a right time go as the zoo gets really crowded during some seasons. Overall, this is a great place to go to if you have kids or want to see pandas
A city zoo in downtown with history. Various kinds of animals originate from all over the world. Very crowded during the weekends and holidays. Limited parking space. Best place to see pandas in Beijing. Better not go there on holidays.
Nice big park but not very nice cages for animals. For some animals you have to pay extra to see them
Let s be clear. This is a must see in Beijing so the three stars is not a reflection of the overall place. The cost is maybe $2.50 in USD and $3.25 if you add the panda house. Pandas are amazing. Lots of great animals. Worth the days walk. The cages though are poorly kept. Weeds all over the open areas. Most behind glass because of the heat-And the glass and cages are filthy. Some animals you could barely see through the grime. I understand it must be a hundred people s full time job to clean the glass and pull the weeds and many of the animals you can t do so when they are present so it s a lot more complicated but this is the whole parks main presentation so it would be so much better if they would figure this out.
I think this place is a bit old now
You get to see pandas, of course it s a Chinese zoo
And the aquarium is big and old, so many sales people want to sale kids stuff, typical Chinese stuff again
The Panda area was super however the rest of the Zoo was poor only because the animals were in a distressed state the housing was cramped so the animals were bored. There was a lot of pacing back and forward not nice to see.
Amazing to see the the pandas, but the enclosures for the rest of the animals are very poor. Almost sad to see some of the animals.
Big park ! Make sure you be there earlier as possible to finish it
Very poor experience. The big cats are crowded into spaces so small I doubt that they can even properly stretch their legs! And the white tigers! White tigers are not actually a species. The only way to get them is to inbreed and the majority are so disfigured they have to be "disposed" of at birth! No real zoo would do such cruelty to their animals.
Good place to see Pandas. Vast area , you need a whole day to cover. Animals are not kept in good condition. In any case it is must place to visit in Beijing!
Beijing's Third Zoo globally was established in 1906 in the late Qing Dynasty, and Beijing Zoo is one of the largest zoos in China, and the park is home to 14,500 animals, which represent more than 450 species of wild animals and more than 500 species of marine animals, The zoo occupies an area of 219 acres (89 hectares), the Beijing Zoo includes very rare animals such as the giant panda, which has a great attraction in the park and the most popular.
Initially I thought the reviews of the animals living conditions were probably exaggerated, but having seen them for myself I have to say the place definitely needs a drastic change. For a zoo in central Beijing, I'm disappointed.
giant panda
It is the first and largest zoo of its kind that was built in China, it is located in the Xicheng district. According to its warnings it houses around 450 different species with a population of more than 5,000 animals. Its most popular attraction are the beautiful giant pandas followed by the white tigers and the bengal tigers of northeastern China; In addition it has other species such as polar bears, American bison, giraffes, elephants, zebras and kangaroos among others.
The zoo is divided into rooms or areas depending on the species of animals to be exhibited, surrounded by beautiful traditional Chinese gardens in the form of a Tai Chi diagram.
A great zoo, definitely worth a visit if you're in Beijing. I would recommend paying the little extra for the pandas, and don't forget you can get student and other discounts.
The Beijing Zoo is very big and clean, the zoo itself has a beautiful gardens with excellent landscaping, animals are in good condition and have a lot of variety and abundance. For pandas, a separate section is made and large shady pandas are visible behind the glass. Of course, it's usually behind the visitors.
We enjoy the visit in the zoo yesterday and it was all very nice. A lot of species there as White tigers and others. I had some same experience with the Berlin with a little bit of advantage for Berlin
Very bad conditions. Small concrete places full in mud and dirt. Tigers are sleeping next to empty Coca-Cola bottles.
