Horrible. I don't know how they claim to protect Pandas and keep them in such a bad environment. And unfortunately is the same for the other animals too.

One of the Beijing s resorts, a variety of grandparents and grandchildren are playing with children. There are quite a lot of animals, and they are divided into various museum areas. The Panda Pavilion needs to purchase tickets separately.
A place that is worth visiting during your stay in Beijing. An undoubted attraction of this zoo is the large panda, but the tigers made the most impression on me.
Fun place to add your knowledge on variety of animal inthe world, especially one particularly known as china's Giant Panda
The place is big, but the planning is very poor, even the road signs are bad.
Well maintained. Great mix of animals from different continents. Ample seating area to rest our feet. Eateries are costly, recommend to bring own food and drinks.
Subway at door step and bus hub just across the road. Easy reach.
Zoo in Beijing, where you can admire the famous panda bears, there is a wide variety of animals to see, and you must at least travel it in about 3 hours, very easy to reach via subway line No. 4, and get off at the station of the same name Beijing Zoo.
Do not go here. Do not support this terrible place. Animals stressed out of their mind just pacing back and forth in tiny cages.
Compared with Hong Kong Ocean Park, the fare is too flat, and dozens of RMB can be used for half a day.
Thi s a horrible zoo. The animals are in awful cramped and concrete enclosures with nothing green or anything to play with, the bears are in an open concrete enclosure and people throw all sorts of horrible things at the poor things. The zoo keepers are never around there s pearly no standards here. This zoo is just a horrible excuse for a zoo and should be shut down an the animals taken somewhere with better facilities for them. It s called animal cruelty!!!!!
Was better than I thought it would be. The panda house was great. I expected to see one or two, not half a dozen.. bathrooms still needed attention.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE, THESE ANIMALS SHOULD GO ANYWHERE, BUT HERE.
i mean its better to sell them to other zoos around the world...
The venue is very large and can't be walked for five or six hours!
There are so many animal species in it that are worth seeing
But there are some animals that do not live well
Overall a good spot
Would like to give no star. But one zoo gets the zoo for biodiversity. You can really see a lot.
Unfortunately, almost all animals are very sad to look at. The enclosures are tiny, dark, there are feces and urine around, many animals lack fur, some have eye infections, are emaciated and run totally disturbed from right to left. Especially bad is the big cats. Terrible!
I was happy to have paid only 2 euros for this zoo, in retrospect I would have given them no money, because it will never benefit the animals.
We were not in the aquarium, but there was also a huge mystery out of what's in there. Admission one would have to pay again extra 20 euros.
In hindsight I have seen that they hold belugas, dolphins, mantas and various shark species. Of course, shows are made with the belugas and dolphins. Dreadful!
One can only appeal to all those zoos no longer visit and thus no longer support!
- Went there to see pandas and we weren't disappointed! They were so cute! We got there around 1 PM and caught some of them asleep while others were eating.
- The place was cleaner than I expected. There are shops inside where you can buy food and souvenirs from, they're more expensive though.
- Be sure to wear comfortable shoes because it's a very long walk around the zoo.
- They have an impressive collection of reptiles and amphibians. Don't miss that! Also, walk around the lake/lagoon and enjoy the view.
- Oh, be sure to expect chinese people (not just kids but adults) tapping on the glass cages even though there are reminders in both mandarin and english not to do that displayed everywhere
There is no point having warning and dont signs because nobody seems to take any notice. For a big zoo the animal's didn't have much space. They all looked very sad. On the plus side, beers are around 50p.
Totally gigantic zoo (one of the largest zoo in the world) but dont come on winter because you will miss lot of animal.
Well maintained zoo. Mainly visited to see Pandas and it was nice to how they have been protected.
One of the worst places I went to in Beijing. Some serious animal cruelty taking place. Polar bears were living in 25 degree heat, well above their natural environment. Pandas and elephants were in extremely claustrophobic cages, with no space to breathe. The zookeepers need to have a good, hard look at themselves.
Nice relaxing park with lots of interesting animals
Very cheap which is nice but very crowded and pretty plain
After visiting this zoo, I was very upset and depressed, the animals in this zoo are in very poor conditions. After visiting this zoo I decided to boycott our zoo.
It's an incredible place!!! Aquarium is spectacular !!
The facilities are in very bad condition, the worst is that the animals are in very bad conditions, sad and in a rather hostile habitat. Hopefully this space can be recovered for the conservation of different species!
Inexpensive. Needs better conditions for the animals. Very crowded on the weekends. You can see the panda!
Although I am mostly against zoos, this one was not that bad! I don't get why people say this zoo is terrible, it's actually decent. All the animals seemed happy in their enclosures. The Australian sector, however, was a different story. The cages were filled with feces, and it was dusty and had not been cleaned in a long time. The gift shops were nice though, as the prices were reasonable and the items cute. I got myself a little panda toothbrush! :D
Lots of animals were in very small cages and since the zoo was undergoing maintenance there were a lot of empty areas
Beijing Zoo is a panda! However, it was kind of subtle to know that the panda became a Chinese one because it invaded Tibet.
The only tourist destination that has never encountered a grueling sale, both inside and outside the park. So 4 stars w
As a zoo, it is no different from Japan, so if you have a limited number of days to stay, you can pass.
Its amazing.so clean and well arranged. The whole day may be less for enjoing it.
Tickets are super expensive, the overall movement is very poor
The aquarium is tied to the zoo ticket
I don t want to go, there is no way
The facilities are not good, the toilet is dirty, and there are many people.
Don't want to be a plate, don't go.
Animals are also rare
And every animal feels abused.
A 3D movie is also worth 20 yuan.
Got it and found it to be a normal movie.
Someone has been selling goods through your aisle
It s very annoying to watch a movie, let alone watch the show there.
Fantastic zoo! The grounds are beautiful and the pandas are delightful.
The zoo is wide and clean. There were many people come to visit here because it was the peak season and summer holiday. Mostly with children because they had school holiday too. The public toilet are not as horror as I thought before. You can also see the panda, the animal icon of the country here. No need to go to Sichuan. Unfortunately, they frequenly sleep!
Good place but i'm unlucky bcos of sleeping panda, cannot watch the panda show.
Worth visit if you are in Beijing and have time to go around.
Fantastic, amazing, a must do in beijing. Well setout zoo - bilingual maps.
It is very bad that they mistreat the animals very much and they are all sleepy in super reduced spaces.
Why are there strip clubs at this zoo? One for the humans and human strippers and one for the animals and animal strippers? Like seriously what the heck?
Not bad.. cheap and the panda house was great to visit
For the capital of the (second) most powerful country in the world, this zoo is depressing. The exhibits were very small and some of the smaller animals did look neglected. The pandas were fun to see.
A must do activity for Beijine. This Zoo is fantastic. Keep in mind the basic entrance does not include the Panda holding area, the extra payment is minimal but well worth the visit. The monkey and bird area is also well managed.
This zoo is horrible, anyone who thinks this is zoo is an acceptable way to treat animals is kidding themselves.
You visit the tortoises, 2 of them in a 3x4m enclosure with an almost empty water pond and wonder why they aren't outside with a fence to keep them in.
Then you reach the elephant's who also seem to have no water, maybe water isn't easy to get for animals in China.
The worst part though is when you reach the two polar bears who have been left to roast in the sun with water you wouldn't touch if you were dying of thirst, what makes this all the worse is that there is an aquarium inside the zoo which the polar bears should be if they are at all kept in the zoo.
This is hands down one of the worst zoos in the world and should be avoided if you have any care for animals.
Large and the ticket price is very visitor friendly. And of course the Pandas :). The only disappointment is the Aquarium s Dolphins show, the program content is not as good as it s used to
Giant, special animals, panda bears, and cheap and very cheap entry ticket. Require an entry ticket + entrance to the panda bears
Business hours:
April 1st-October 31st: 7:30-18:00
November 1st-March 31st: 7:30-17:00
Only the main attraction is the Giant Pandas.
The rest of the animals are in small cages, with feces and dirt everywhere.
It was a disappointment.
Good place to see lots of thing's pandas in particular it is great
Good recreational & learning place also from some aspects.
Visited during an organized excursion and in a holiday period and therefore quite crowded. We have limited ourselves to the part dedicated to pandas ... both internal and external. They are not in their natural environment but they seemed well kept.
This Zoo is depressing, I do not know how to allow animals in these conditions and above all their star animals, the pandas, if they ask me I would say that they were more dead than alive.
Everything is big China. Panda is felt familiar and it is recommended for those who love panda.
Giant Panda's! Great fun! Although it would've been delightful to see them in a more natural habitat.
Interesting collection, the Pandas are interesting and cute.
What the Beijing Zoo boasts is probably pandas. Well ... Pandas really are, but they look like they really were very bad there. The zoo itself is clean and tidy, the general order is preserved, although many catwalks leave much to be desired. You have to reserve at least half a day to work around the object.
Awful. The cheetah had a cage so small it could barely pace. Fastest land animal couldn't even jog. I was forced to go here with my company. Don't go here willingly.
Lovely zoo. Many of the enclosures are old but you can see the zoo is trying its best in a culture that is developing conversation to current western standards. Loved the panda exhibit! You gota pay extra for it though.
When I was a child, I liked to come to the place, including the wolf, the big tiger, and the little monkey.
Pandas get the limelight while the rest suffer. Red kangaroos looked gaunt and were obviously disoriented and staggering while hopping around and around and around their tiny yard.
Sad to see only the pandas there have a good life and the other animals don t, please remove the other animals and keep the pandas .
Good. A lot of animals in a friendly environment. Just outside the subway station with a mcdonals near to the main entrance.
No to much to see ,stinking animals and they don't look happy at all ,good thing is cheap and big
Nice place to visit though Animal enclosures are not that great.
Quite an extensive list of species in the zoo and the place is huge.
A lot of rare animals. Good living conditions . Zoo pride - giant panda !!!
The hawker stalls selling cantaloupes near the Beijing Zoo are scammers, so be careful.
The zoo, like everywhere else, is a bunch of tired and tortured animals. But it is just gigantic (like everything in Beijing), and it has a curiosity - pandas! We came here only because of them.
