My experiences might be only true for small age toddlers. I believe they might keep kids cleaner. In general, all kids were dirty in the same classroom with running nose and dirty clothes, before eating and/ or playing, they could use bibs to keep clothes clean.
Also, student workers are not doing their jobs properly, i have seen several times that teachers were leaving the responsibility to student workers at the later time of the day lets say after 3:00-4:00 pm. One day i picked up my kid while student workers were watching the kids outside, and they even did not realize that I picked my kid, they were chatting among themselves instead of watching the kids. Also, two times my kid hit her head while student workers were taking her to potty.
Most of the activities are just to fill the time, for example, even during cold days, they were spending time outside, i have been seeing my kid just sitting outside not playing at all. They were in general sick because of this.
Social activities also were poorly designed, kids were playing with themselves and were not encouraged to play together.
If you ask a question for teachers, they might get offended which is not a professional behavior. If your kid loves one of the teachers, the other can jealous.
As usual, one day, we went to the center to pick my daughter. She was sitting on a student worker lap and she looked pale. Once she saw me, she started to cry, she was very fussy in the car and she did not eat anything at home and she threw up several times at home. We scheduled an appointment immediately with a doctor the next day and i was trying to learn from teachers what she ate that day through e-mail, I never got a reply. She did not go to school for a week, two-three days later, when I went to school to pick up her clothes, I asked face to face the same questions to one of the teachers to learn what happened to my daughter (who was not able to speak with me) because she was very happy in the morning of that day. The teacher took my questions personally and got angry with me.
Then, the same teacher started to behave differently to my daughter. If i was wrong and i believe i was not, then, i do not know why my daughter deserved such behaviors, you do not expect a childish behavior from a teacher who you trust and give a responsibility to take care your love ones. Then, my mind was always there, i was always thinking how my daughter was getting treated in the center. Especially, if a teacher is also a mother, i thought that they may understand me better, but it was not the case for me. while i was seeking an answer about my kid, i was staying silent since i did not want to damage my kids psychology more. Because after this specific experience, maybe because she threw up or maybe she got a different treatment at school, she became very reluctant to go to school. But my mother feelings are telling me that it was the difference in treatment, since she started to pronounce the name of the teachers less at home. And my questions were around "what she ate that day?"
Other teachers might be better in the center, but based on my experiences I believe that the teachers that i had to deal with was not professional.
My general experience is teachers are not professional and responsible, they do not stay all time with kids (7:30 till 5:30). Student workers are very immature in general. I do not recommend this place for kids between 1 to 2.5 years for sure.
