Spot right beside the Elbow River. The Campground Hosts are friendly and will bring wood around at night.

Lovely spots with lots of trees and an awesome firepit ring. Checkout is at the civilized time of 2 pm

This is such an easy walk with so much to see. The levels of beaver dams along the water are so neat to see and its usually relatively quiet compared to the larger hikes in the area. Great for kids or people who are not up for a big hike but want to enjoy some great views and some good old Canadian beaver watching

Quite a quick and easy walk and really beautiful scenery. This is a nice walk to do with smaller children as it's not too challenging and there are no steep inclines. The scenery and surrounding areas are also enough to keep younger minds occupied and engaged. We visited on a week day and there was ample parking available in the morning but we noticed things started getting a little busier after lunch.

A nice place to camp with nice hiking trails along river. The only thing I didn't like was the misuse of rules. Several spots had more than 2 cars per site. Overcrowding the roadway.

Nice campground near Calgary. The sites are nicely spaced out and there are lots of spots near the river. It is quite busy on the weekends and we were very lucky to get a spot. The Campground hosts are very nice and come around a couple of times each day to sell firewood. It's all first come first served so if you're looking for a spot it's worth it to drive in even if the sign says 'Campground full'.

Beaver flats is an amazing camp ground located at the base of a group mountains. Your still in alberta sadly but you dont realise it with the mountains so close. You have access to all kinds of hiking paths and multiple water falls in the area, along with lots of caves to go and wander thru. The campsites are very well shaded by trees. The fire pits are a little small but it does the trick. They could use more bear proof garbage bins around the camp ground. The fire wood is 10 dollars a bag which is a little pricey but you wont find it cheaper anywhere else. There is a store about 20 min drive from beaver flats that has everything you need at a decent price. I am going back again multiple times this year and many more to come. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Nice campground with lots of spaces for visitors. Elbow river on one side of the camping ground and Beaver Flats ponds on opposite side. Close to the city and very popular. Lots of trails for summer hiking, biking and some limited winter cross country skiing and also back-country skiing is possible if snow permits. Unfortunately very often fully booked. The campground in unavailable over the winter period because of road closure for the season. Approximately from December until end of April

Nice, small, quiet campground close to Calgary. No cell service, no hookups, non potable water. Beautiful scenery, the trail right off campground will take you to elbow falls. If there is no overcast amazing starry nights.

Great campground. Situated next to the river there are a lot of great spots to go and enjoy the water. The sites are clean and private. During the weekends this area fills up fast. Best is to grab a site thursday. We went on Monday though and the campground was so empty and quiet. Very peaceful.

Absolute must go for anyone who enjoys camping, in the McLean area, right on thw water and absolutely gorgeous, and 26 dollars a night it does end up being $52 for a weekend but if you can find a spot close to the water you wont regret it. Had a great time. No power (the way it should be) and generally a pretty quite place, not great for the party types, but awesome for anyone who loves the outdoors.

My favourite camp ground close to Calgary. No hookups so no big rigs. It's old, so the sites are far apart. No RV hell here. It's a great area for hiking with trail heads near by and Elbow Falls a nice walk.
