Order for take out. After waiting 3 hours and 10 minutes they cancelled our order. Not great service. Thanks bear pit.

Kodiak/sandwich with garlic bread & just ask for the sweet sauce. Beef sandwich the best!

Went to dinner with my daughter. Everything was great except they forgot my ketchup (no worries). Food was off the hook! I'm not a barbecue person but The Kodiak was barbecue delicious. Recommend to everyone.

Good ribs but my wife thought the sides were even better. I think it will be better when we can eat inside (or when the weather cools-off)

The customer service can be hit or miss but overall it's great and the food makes up for anything else!

Last couple times I've asked for tatter tots I've received an unnecessarily large paper bag with 3 tots max inside.

Service was okay. The food was mediocre. I had the "Taater's Treat" i believe it was called. A sampler platter basically. Un-seasoned meat. The beef rib was the best taating of all the meats and typically don't care for beef ribs. Not a bad place although i wouldn't go back on my dime.

I've been eating Bear Pit for over 50 years. Its smoky goodness is genuine barbecue. You don't even need the sauce. I love it!

This place has been around forever. I am going to give you a secret the restaurant does not put on their menu and it is the absolute best. I only come for this secret food.
Order the lamb sandwich on garlic bread. You will not be disappointed. It might be the only thing you order whenever you visit

This place is a gem. Privately owned and run for 60 years. Recommended by a friend at LAFD. Top class cooking. Best beef back ribs ever.

Can't say enough good things here! You know it's good when a man who prides himself on his BBQ is singing the praises of the food. Or when a visitor from Virginia (who knows her bbq) is saying how delicious everything is that they're doing it right!

The bar-b-q is amazing every time I go I have to take home a bottle or to off their sauce.

It's been almost 10 years since I left LA and I still think about this place. I've lived and traveled all over and whenever I'm asked who has the best BBQ I always say the same thing. "You're not gonna believe this but LA". Hands down the BEST BBQ I've ever had in my 40+ years.

The Bear Pit has been around for many years. I remember going there when I was a kid. It hasn't changed much and that's a good thing. Food is always consistent and good. It's a bit old-school, but that's part of the charm and appeal. Highly recommended the baby back ribs.

A Valley standard. If you have not been there you have not experienced the Valley. It is Missouri style so sauce is involved. They have 3 sauces, try them all as they complement food differently. But try them ALL!!
The garlic toast as a side or as the bread for a sandwich is superb. My favorite is the lamb sandwich on garlic toast. The wait staff are super friendly and helpful. Don't be shy to ask a question about the menu, they will not be shy answering. Very sweet ladies.

I have been coming here my entire life. The food has been changed, WHY would they change what everyone comes there for?! The garlic toast is not the same in the way it's made and the bread is different. What a massive bummer

The new owners have no clue what BBQ is ... let alone running a restaurant. STAY AWAY everything served here is either frozen or from a can. The burgers have frozen burns, potato salad was slimy from sitting in the box too long. The FOOD is TERRIBLE!

Bought $100 worth of barbecue was very disappointed in the quality of the meat had no flavor barbecue sauce was not good Very disappointed would not recommend.

This established never let's me down in service. it has the kind folks from waitressing and so on... the food is well worth it!

Ordered some chargrilled ribs and stake with fries. They were so bland and unappetizing. Got the fries packed together with meat turned into a soggy mess. Never again!

We drove a hour and a half to get here. It was not a disappointment. Our waitress was witty, even with kids working her nerves. I've been going here since I was kid and the food still taste good.

Good meat and garlic bread but other sides pale in comparison. Whats up with the small red, no flavor potatoes?? Staff is super helpful and friendly though.

Had the beef brisket sandwich on garlic toast today and it was fantastic.

Terrible... Food from the bear pit is overpriced, overcooked, and severely lacking of any flavor. meat is always tough and dry. You have to smother everything in BBQ sauce in order for it to be edible. My least favorite BBQ restaurant and I've had Dickey's.... Please avoid this place so it can finally go out of business or be placed under new management.

The staff is always welcoming, the food is always amazing and its the only place i go to for BBQ.

This is a great place to go if you want to get away from the lazy minorities clogging up our city. They do a great job of keeping the colored people out. I highly recommend this place as white people always act with the highest class and etiquette.

This place has been here for many years, the quality of their menu is top shelf. I did the takeout and it was timely and correct, really good stuff!

The food here is so tasty. They have a couple of different sauces besides what's on the table. Very generous portions for the price. We relied several things. Beef ribs. Beef sandwich. Brisket sandwich was my favorite. My son had the burger he inhaled it. Kid friendly menu with a great selection. Sides, the fries, mac and cheese and slaw are all tasty. I think my favorite was the cheese toast they put on the sandwich. The toast pulls everything together. We will be back with friends.

I am so glad my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this restaurant on our recent trip in SoCal. Their own BBQ sauce is so good! I wish I could have brought some back home with me.

Since I wasn't in the mood for a really big meal, I ended up getting the BBQ salad with a side of minestrone soup. Both were really flavorful and delicious.

The staff was great and always came to check on us and ask how the food was and if there was anything more they could get for us.

Cute little hole in the wall restaurant, will be back when I can make it down there again.

People love it here. Not my fave. I find the ribs aren't meaty. The bbq chicken is crisped in a fryer, yech. Dry and meatless.

It's a really nice place if u want to eat a lot of good meat. It's quite pricey though.

to this location for once, as it has the staple, of how we do bbq! (at a great price); and wonderful, wonderful options for enhancing yhour backwater, backwood state into a reality.

Love this place, they have the best BBQ sandwiches. I've been coming here for 50 years!their pickles are the bomb.

Simple classic BBQ dishes made well day in and day out. If you want BBQ for lunch go here. Also, the environment is comfortable for conversation. The ambience hasn't changed in over 20 years. Lovely, kind waiting staff. A little over priced for the portion size.

I have been delighted in past visits. But this time the $30 rack of ribs was small and overcooked. I won't do that again.

This place have very good food!!!.but some of the hosts do not have any manners and to mention do not make me feel very welcomed... I don't think the place is racist but the way I been treated and witness how they treat others makes me feel very offended...

Ordered the beef kodiak for pick up with a side of mac slaw and fries. Amazing. Been here a few times over the years and it's always been on point. Been trying to support local restaurants lately. Stoked and completely happy with the bear pit. Always worth it.

I always look forward to going to the Bear Pit and getting the sandwich with the cheese bread, yum!

Food was good , the waitress was kind of like bottom line border indifferent.

This is good BBQ. The meat is smoked but does not have an overly smokey flavor. If you are a fan of lighter bbq then this is definitely a place to try. Be warned the sauces are a bit thick and sweet. I tend to like my bbq on the dry side with very little sauce so this doesn't present a problem for me.

I have tried many meats here over the years and have enjoyed them all.
