I don't play golf here, but use the club's beautiful grounds in the winter to cross-county ski, as do many others, so you can often find tracked trails.

There are several big hills on the golf course, too, that are wonderful to use for tobagganing and sledding long distances in the winter, great family activities for the young and the young at heart.

I recently photographed a wedding at Beaconsfield Golf Club and as always it proved to be a beautiful backdrop for the wedding photos. The only downside is that couples are not allowed on the course and are therefore restricted to using the area around the clubhouse. Luckily there are still lots of little nooks to create beautiful images.

The reception hall is a bit dated, but still has some old-school charm. It's perfect for intimate receptions in the 100 guest range - any more and it would start to be a little tight. There is a good-sized dance floor, which is a really nice. The service is friendly and efficient, evidence of an experienced crew. Sadly, they had no vegan options for me, so I had to pack my own food.

Overall a great option for couples looking for a cozy wedding venue on the West Island.
