Great food and drinks. (Didn't stay here-just came for some food and drinks)

Club with beds is the best description for this place besides that staff was friendly. Bathroom is inside of the room, kitchen is poorly equipped and tables are very dirty. Pros: good location and cheap accommodation

First of all,
The meals: 300 gram rump is a 150g rump.. ordered med-well recieved WELLDONE!
Burger and chips.. CHIPS WERE COLD...
Schnitzel and chips/salad... salad was 5 days old and schnitzel was BURNT...
Mushroom sauce was basic gravy with 3 mushrooms shoved into it..

Cleanliness: Walked to the servery to get cutlery and the cutlery stand is disgusting hasn't been cleaned in months had to dig through the cutlery for clean forks and knives.

Then we sat at the table... the table was that sticky, my phone was sticking to the table. Customers who sat down behind us complained about the tables being sticky.

VERY VERY DISAPOINTED IN THE BEACHES BAR AT AIRLIE BEACH! WILL NEVER BE RETURNING.

Great atmosphere really friendly bar staff. Good music fab atmosphere. Little tired around the edges but that makes it what it is a really relaxed Aussie Beach bar. 1 star less for no Vegan meals on option.

The wait for food was quite long and halfway through the wait the music volume was doubled to an almost unbearable level. Food was decent though.

It is a safe option in Airlie Beach to have lunch, $17.00 for 300gr steak an a beer... well, I don't think I need to add anything else

Rocked up as part of the Habibi crew , well looked after, great atmosphere, bring it beaches!

Only 17 dollars for Steak n one drink. But the steak is a little rubbery n not tasteful. The place is hot. It has some entertainment like pool tables n games.

Extremely rude staff. Group of 6 of us walked out. Would never recommend to anyone.

Only recommend this hostel for those who are on a budget, but you can still find hostels in Arlie Beach with similar price.
The cleaning of the hostel in general is terrible and carried out once or twice a day. The bathrooms are inside the rooms and the bath area is tiny. The kitchen does not have utensils and to have them you need to ask at the reception desk for a deposit of A $ 5. The living room is totally messy and dirty.
It is not allowed to eat or drink in the rooms and any alcoholic beverage should be at the reception.
Internally and adjunct there is a bar and ballad with live music and everything else, but it is right in front of the rooms, making your sleep impossible before 12pm due to the volume of the sound and the crowd.
Definitely would not recommend and only stayed here because other hostels were there

Not the cleanest feeling place. Though price is cheap and voucher for meal in accompanying bar is a bargain.

Best value for money lunches in Airlie, wins all categories taste, speed, customer service and price. They even do a promotion with Zig Zag Tours after their daily whitehaven trip for a $7.50 meal, absolutely unbeatable, exsctly what you need after a day in the sun

Best place for a cheap meal. The main menu is awesome but the specials on the board are amazing.

While not being the worse backpacker I have been to, it certainly isn't as good as most of the others backpackers around (while being similarly priced). The place is host to a lot of parties within dorms and as you'd expected with it, is not and example of cleanliness nor a great place to actually sleep. Prefer surrounding spots such as Magnum, YHA or Backpacker by the Bay.

Stuff is really friendly! Good music and food, rooms are normal.

I was having my usual sunday dinner at beaches , with my partner and another couple ,enjoying the awesome music .. a real shame about the rude and arrogant bar manger there! Totally ruined the ambiance! He really needs a hospitality lesson .. has absolutely no people skills .. as a local been comming to beaches for many many years , he definitely puts s dampener on the evening ..snatched our food from us ! We didn't know we weren't allowed to sit there to eat. I feel disappointed and embarrassed in front of my friends . He only had to explain politely!

The coldest beer in Arlie beach. You can have $17.00 meals which are great value and it comes with a drink. Surrounding could use a little bit of up keep but still a great place to drink and eat

Good Hostel with excellent restaurant build in and heaps of life music. Perfect for starting a party night, but of course also quiet loud.

Friendly staff. Rooms need some maintenance. Showers harldy work. But nice to be in the centre of town.

Had the T-bone steak meal deal for lunch and it was an amazing deal. Well cooked steak, crispy chips and fresh salad. Amazing prices for a backpacker budget. Very friendly staff and free wifi was just the cherry on top

I only made the backpack bar and we eat really well for not too expensive. There is always a live band and it's in the open air

Had here my after party from the whitsundays sailing trip! Music was alright but could have been better! Otherwise the food was really good!!!

Great location and atmosphere, food was pretty average, but a meal and drink for 7.50 you can't complain. We had a private room and belive me it was pretty run down but you shouldn't be spending your time in the room at a backpackers anyway

By far the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are infested with cockroaches. When the cleaners came into the room then didn't even go into the bathroom to clean. We had to ask them to mop in there and get a dead cockroach out which had been there for numerous days and the response we got wad what's everyone's problem with cockroaches. The bath/ shower is vile the shower curtain looks like it hasn't been cleaned for months the floor is all black and grimy the air vent looks like it's going to fall out will all the muck attached to it. Never stay here again and would recommend anybody to give it a wide berth!!!

There is only one bathroom for a dorm with 8 people, impossible situation when everyone leaves at the same time in the morning. Loud music until midnight and a leaf blower at 7am, both just in front of the building, impossible to sleep. I give it 2 stars because of the good location and the helpful receptionists.

It's a reliable, friendly, clean, economical joint! Attached hotel and restaurant great value!

Always helpful staff. Across road from bay. Nice views from balcony. Attached hotel with generous meal deals and nightly jamming. Experienced staff.

Good Nachos, beer cold, shame the outdoor seating area is for smokers only, this is where you want to eat meals when it's 26 degrees with a nice breeze blowing. The cigarette fumes blow into the "dining area" anyway and get trapped behind the plastic blinds.

Dirty, smelly tables all sticky. Staff very subdued.

Great food for bottom prices. Friendly staff, helped with our allergies. You don't go here to relax and sit because the music is quite loud and there are a lot of younger people drinking and playing pool.

Cheap and very tasty food. Large basic drinks and great value for them too

Came for cheap food and drinks in the daytime. Came for drinks and the crowd in the evening. The live band and pool tables were also a bonus.

Rooms are no longer available at beaches however the meals and bar are still open. Cheap and cheerful meals and a fun atmosphere :)

Cool bar with really good prices. We had been there for ladies night. Since you get a coupon with which you get 5 glasses of sparkling wine for free. The music was okay, the mood was so much the better.

Good food, casual seating, live music. $17 for dinner and a drink. Steak was not great, chicken parm with fries was good, chicken Caesar salad also good.

Minimal drink choices. I asked for a fruity cocktail & they looked at me like I was a moron.

Dreadful experience. My meal wasn't as ordered, ordered a medium steak only to be given it well done!! When I tried to bring this to their attention - I was just wrong, my steak was how I asked for it.
My girlfriend after her meal ended up with food poisoning. I'd be wary about eating here even though it's only $17!!!

Really great night out pre and post Whitsundays. Good food too! Recommend a few jugs at happy hour and the burger deal

Great atmosphere, great food & great pool tables! Loved the live music!

A fun, young and busy pub. Great value food. Love the vegie stack. Often has live music playing, caters to all ages but definitely a hit with the younger crowd. The building is very tired and I believe a refurbishment is planned soon.

Free drink with all $17 meals, big meals, great value.
Wouldn t go anywhere else in Airlie Beach

Don't go there. It's an absolute mess, staff is absolutely unhelpful, your food gets stolen from the fridge an no one cares, the air conditioning only works in 30% of rooms and it's noisy as hell 24/7...
So do yourself a favour and check in somewhere else, even if you have to pay a little bit more.

Stay here only one night after the Whitsundays but it wasn't to bad. Then again just used the bedroom and none of the other facilities. Our room came with an ensuite so very having a shower wasn't to bad.

Nice and affordable beer and dinner. Try the agua shot, which is from the same like cocaine.

The singer and the food were awesome. Good place to be for a quiet evening

Beaches is a great place to meet new people, it has a fun and exciting vibe. There is a bar next to the hostel, it holds games and cheap drunks so its a great place to relax and not spend to much money. When you check into the hostel you get a half price meal, the meals are a reasonable size and have a lot to choose from.

Beaches is situated on the Main Street opposite the lagoon and beach, so it's in a perfect location.
I stayed here twice both times in a 8 person dorm. It was clean and large, it also looked over the bar.

The staff are more than friendly and was willing to help with anything, this made my trip much more enjoyable. Unfortunately I fell unwell and needed medical attention, the staff not only helped me they were willing to try and take me hospital. The hospital is 40 minutes away, luckily I managed to get the bus in the end.

I would defiantly recommend this place if anyone was passing through or off to the Whitsunday's. The only two criticisms are if your planning on leaving baggage with Beaches, while your doing the Whitsunday's they charge $6 to leave your bag. The only other criticism is the hostel is a dry hostel, this means no drinking within the hostel grounds. The criticisms haven't put me off and I will return as the staff are more then welcoming.

The bar has a good atmosphere and affordable meals, making it a great place for backpackers.

I only styed one night in this Hostel but for just 18 Dollars a night, you really can't complain. The mattress wasn't in a really good condition but it was okay. Best was the 6,50 $ Menue in the bar next to the hostel. Calamari with fries plus a pint of Beer for only 6,50$ is amazing. For a short stay, I would really reccoment this Hostel.

The bar is great but the hostel has been shut since the cyclone last year...

Good food great live music and friendly staff. a great place to spend a weekend afternoon
