Very pleased with personnel and amenities. Decor is slightly dated but still looks lovely. Situated waterfront and we were able to kayak daily.

A very quaint Inn converted to a unique resort with all redone rooms.
Used our time share to exchange, was very pleased with staff, room, service, and hotel.
It's really nothing to for children in this resort in the winter
First thing I m from nyc, so I thought it would be nice to drive 5 hours to get away from all the noise for thanksgiving weekend. We were supposed to have a room overlooking the bay which would ve been wonderful, instead they overbooked and gave us a room next to the highway. So instead of nice and quiet, I get to listen to cars all night. Willing to let this slide because I wanted a nice evening, I can t use the internet unless I sit next to the elevator. So I decided to move a chair and table into the elevator so I can use my laptop. Don t come here unless you enjoy silly shenanigans and a waste of money.
Great brunch menu, not expensive and the service was fantastic and friendly. Mark, the bartender, was excellent! Love the atmosphere and views, a must go. Our meals were delicious as were the mimosas!
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary, and we were very pleased.
It is different from the modern resort concept, more of a throwback to simpler times.
Great staff, on site restaurant, access to other activities in Jamestown.
It was good to get away from the noise of everyday, and still be close to Newport.
Service we fantastic and cabins were very comfortable.
Cozy! I loved it, very quiet and comfortable. It is perfect for a weekend getaway for relaxing and you can't miss the sunset it is stunning
Jamestown ri is cold in march but the overlook is warm and comfortable. The townhouse is beautiful. Day and night views are spectacular. Food nearby and in newport is great.
It could use some up keep. I like it though. Nice views.
View was stunning from our room! Hotel was very clean and well maintained.
So glad there is a restaurant back at the Bay voyage...very nice.
Beautiful building with great history. Very nice rooms. Very friendly staff, especially Susan. Bed too soft for our liking. Great location. We had a second floor room with a balcony with great views of the harbor.
Loved it.Just what we needed.Very quite and relaxing. Definitely plan on visiting again.
Just there overnight. Townhouse was roomy. Your not going to be wowed by the property but the location is great. Good base of operations
This is my favorite dinner out. Things must have changed drastically since the bad reviews of 2-3 years ago, because in the last year I've gone four times and had excellent meals, friendly and courteous wait staff every single time, all with an elegant atmosphere with a stunning view of Newport Bridge and the marina. I don't go out very often, and the restaurant at the Bay Voyage is decently priced compared to others in the region. The menu itself is not huge, but there's a nice variety of choices, and the chef will accommodate special orders. I'm a local who knows about the poor quality from a few years back - all I can say is, try it again, I think they finally got it right.
This hotel has some of the most rude and unfriendly staff that I have ever encountered. The reservation system at Wyndham is unreliable, and the hotel is dingy and smells like mold. The photos of the harbor on the website are taken to hide the fact that the "Harbor View" is a parking lot view with the harbor and bridge in the background. The location in Jamestown is great.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and neat.
Was told I was in main building where pool is n other activities "I wasnt"
The blanket n sheet for pull out couch not clean n had little bugs on them even in the plastic bag they were in
This is a nice cozy place with excellent coastal views. The rooms were accommodating enough for 2 people. The front desk, restaurant and maintenance staff were very pleasant. I would recommend staying here.
Comfortable, warm, easy to find and nice staff. Huge bummer that there aren't any king size beds, that's the only reason why it doesn't get 5 stars. Location is quite nice and watching the sun come up on the bay is pretty.
Breathtaking views, quaint, clean, kitchenette and fridge/microwave<br/>Modern New England Balcony room facing the water.
Comfortable, reasonably priced rooms. Great getaway spot, in- or out-of-season. Nice dining, with inside and outside seating. Great views. Convenient to village shops and restaurants.
What nice place. They go out if the way to make your stay comfortable. Bedside treats and munchies from the staff. Anywhere close to Newport RI. This is a must have. 5*****.
Tiny 1 bedroom but clean and great view! Staff is excellent!
Terrible. I am a platinum owner and was told I would get an on the water unit. We got the worst unit they have. No heat. Skunk lives outside the unit and it stinks.
The location was ideal, the accommodations very nice, but the desk staff could've been more informative, unlike other Wyndham properties.
Get little getaway, and stay over in this beautiful place, enjoying waterfront from your windows, beautiful views, and awesome atmosphere inside! Place is clean, warm and cozy! Would like to come back again!
Nice rooms, only stayed 1 night so cannot give 5 stars because i did not have diner there. Looks like a great place for a couple to hang out.
The view of the bay and the Mount Hope Bridge make The Wtndham Bay Voyage worth it. We stayed off season at a reduced rate. A suite for $150!! Very nice. Walked to Fish. A great restaurant close by.
I really liked the location, it's close to many great things to see and do. The condo itself is large and well kept. The included laundry and all the little extras like soap and coffee were great. I wasn't aware there would be maid service during my stay and was surprised to come back with things cleaned and put away. This was alright, though it would have been nice to know about.
Great place to stay! Staff is extremely helpful and professional!Would recommend for a return ASAP! The whole place has had a makeover and it shows well!
Lovely room with a small kitchenette and living room/dining area. TV had a good selection. The view was spectacular! It sits on the water so you can see the beach, boats, and bridge. The parking is free, but only one car per room. The pool is outside and not heated. There is no hot tub. In the basement exercise room is the ice machine, soda machine, and tow washer/dryers that are free for guests. VIPs no longer get a newspaper at the room, but they are available in the lobby. It is a quaint place, which means you hear your neighbors. I usually leave my TV on all night because I often wake up ( in that age range). I had turned my TV down to 17 audio, but the person upstairs still complained. When I turned it down lower, I couldn t hear it over the room s air conditioner. Except for that, it was up to Wyndham standards.
I thought the service was extremely understanding to allergy restrictions and accommodating, my only downside would be the lack of options in the Italian night special which I had originally arrived for but ended up choosing something from the regular menu instead
Suites are nicely updated. Cozy place for a blizzard. Friendly staff. Never tried the restaurant. Looking forward to coming back when the weather is nice. They should have a tea kettle in the suites. And more hooks in the kitchens, and more hangers. Other than that, no complaints.
Enjoyed every bit of my stay!!! The staff were amazing and very helpful
Courtney was amazingly helpful at the front desk. Everything went great! Smelled amazing, too.
Great view and the rooms are large and comfortable. Love being right on the water.
Clean and comfortable. Nice remote location on the bay.
This place is fantastic! Gorgeous porches overlooking the bay, with lighted Bridges and sailboats passing through. Decent pool and hot tub that's open until 10pm. As well as a couple very nice walkways leading to the water for fishing, picnics and just sitting to watch the world go by. The interior of the rooms is minimalist with a cove side aesthetic that's both calming and sweet.
Beautiful place. Right next to the bay. Extremely spacious. Wonderful experience.
Nice Wyndham resort with units with less amenities than other Wyndham Resorts, a small pool and exercise room. No whirlpool tubs or shared jacuzzi. Common washer dryers. If you want a relaxing small town beach resort, it is perfect. Jamestown was great.
Great views, clean and restaurant coming soon beach frontage
We had a great time at Newport Overlook. We had plenty of room for our holiday party and the wood stove really help with the ambiance. We were close enough to the water that we could go for a walk after brunch.
Great balcony with our room. Nice restaurant. Conveniently located in Jamestown near bridge to Newport
This place is GREAT, it is so peaceful and only footsteps away from beautiful Narragansett Bay. It is located in a cozy, safe town called Jamestown, right across the bay from lively Newport. It is great to be so close to Newport (5 mi, 10 mins) with all of its fun and relaxing things to do, and have the comforts of staying in peaceful Jamestown. The locals are very nice, and WoW do they LOVE their sports teams. So if your looking for a relaxing, fun vacation - I highly recommend Newport Overlook.
Nice hotel, great location but the doors were sticky, and one of my closet doors was off the hinge. Couldn't close the curtains all the way, and there was old popcorn stuck in my couch cushions. Lovely inn but a little lacking on the details.
Very nice hotel and nicer employees. Abigail, David and John deserve to be singled out as outstanding employees. The views are outstanding. Had a great vacation thanks to a we'll run resort.
This was our 9th anniversay stay at Bay Voyage Inn, and I have to say, this was the best it's ever been for quite a few reasons:
1) The entire front desk staff went way above the call of duty to serve us, including rearranging our messed up reservation (entirely our fault) and making it possible to have a wonderful long weekend stay. Thanks especially to Wendy and Aron--who left a delicious treat for us to make up for all of our stress checking in--which, I repeat--was ENTIRELY our fault.
2) Our spacious and very clean suite was right across from much improved daily coffee. Last year I complained they needed an upgrade--and guess what? They did it. And now their cup of joe is better than what we usually wait for at Slice of Heaven in town.
3) Our view of Newport Bridge and our balcony was sweet as ever.
4) The restaurant has also improved a lot. We enjoyed an arugula salad and pizza the first night, and it was wonderful. At the end of our stay, we stopped in for dessert, and the cheesecake took the cake, over my chocolate mousse cake, which was more of a chocolate pudding. The front desk promised to check on ingredients for me and assure had not been Canola. You know that's my personal goal, to rid us of that very bad oil.
But, some of our outside meals were so disappointing this trip, we really might as well have just parked at BVI's eatery and enjoyed more of their good menu.
Thanks so much for making our 37th memorable.
Good food, better service, true friendly and special feel. Hotel won't pamper you or give you a bunch of freebies, but they will do anything to make you happy
Right near the water. Beautiful view of the Pell bridge.
Excellent location and very friendly service. Clean and comfortable. Very relaxing stay
Easy access to Newport. Small bedrooms, but sufficient for those planning to spend their time out and about.
Friendly, being remodeled, our room looking out on the bay is great.
Very nicely furnished room, clean , nice decorative decor, friendly staff
DISAPPOINTED IN EVERY ASPECT OF THIS STAY AT WYNDHAM BAY. WHEN WE BOOKED THE ROOM, I WAS TOLD IT HAD A KING SIZE BED. NO KING BEDS AT ALL AT THIS HOTEL. HAD I KNOWN THIS I WOULD NOT HAVE BOOKED IT. DID NOT NO THERE WASN'T DAILY MAID SERVICE: WERE ONLY PROVIDED ENOUGH TOWELS FOR 2 DAYS OF A 4 DAYS STAY. WERE TOLD IF WE WANTED MORE TOWELS WE COULD LAUNDER THEM OURSELVES??!! I DO NOT DO LAUNDRY ON VACATION. BED WAS HORRIFIC TO SLEEP ON. I HAVE A BAD BACK AND WAS IN AGONY EVERY NIGHT. ONLY PROVIDED IN ROOM COFFE FOR 2 DAYA. IF WE WANTED MORE WE HAD TO BUY IT. WE CALLED TO TRY AND CANCEL OUR TRIP AFTER ONE NIGHT AND WERE MET WITH CURT, UNFRIENDLY, UNACCOMODATING PEOPLE. I HAVE NEVER IN ALL MY YEARS OF TRAVELING HAVE EVER BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED AND DISILLUSIONED. I WOULD NEVER, EVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. HORRIBLE ACCOMODATIONS AND EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE. IF I COULD GIVE IT -0- STARS, I WOULD.
Nice property, great water view. Room is large and has a kitchenette. It's called and Inn and described as resort on the website, yet it is neither. Rooms are actually time shares. Daily cleaning and towels/linen service is not part of the cost of the room. AC units are noisy and difficult to control temp/humidity. When we visit Newport again I suspect we will try another property.
The special was 2 Lobster sandwiches with french fries for $17. And we also got two cups of New England clam chowder. It was fabulous love the view love the people. On a rainy day it was the best thing to do
I loved this quiet hotel, overlooking the sea and above all, the house is very beautiful, equipped with the necessary washing machine dryer, two bedrooms, area for roasting meats, rest area, dishwasher, very complete coffee maker
As a wyndham VIP owner this has been the worst resort we have ever stayed at. The first room smelled like body odor they moved us to second room that was slightly better . The rooms were like a bad super 8 motel with poor furniture and a bathroom that was so small you could not turn around in them.
The staff was nice and worked with us to move to the inn on long wharf witch was a much better resort that is up to wyndham standards thanks to all that helped in the move.
Ate brunch here overlooking the water. That's the main attraction for dining here! Very good sushi, swordfish. I ordered the Avacado chicken salad- different but good. Big portions. Very good value. Our service was excellent. They serve an assortment of wines, beers and specially cocktails. A lovely, historic spot to relax and dine next to the Newport Bridge and the water. We watched a regatta in action during brunch!
A great experience in Jamesgtown for a wkend getaway, reasonable rates with kitchenette/small living room with separate bed, very quaint, clean and with a view of narragansett bay, right in town near several restaurants and local parks. The bar restaurant has a beautiful view of Newport bridge and the brunch is delicious!
We treated ourselves to celebrate our anniversary and we're beyond disappointed. Our server was the worst. We waited almost 20 minutes before being approached by her then another 10 minutes before we had our cocktails (both short pour martinies). Hourderves took forever and left much to be desired. The first entree(the evening special) supposedly a prime cut of steak came out with a glaze all over it which we soon discovered hide a cut of supreme cut grissel laced with scant bites of tender meat was an insult. The second entree (lobster scampi) consisted of tasteless lobster sauce served over overcooked bland pasta. To make matters worse our dinner wine (ordered at the same time as our entrees) was brought to us 25 minutes after delivery of our meals. We did ask another server to help us and she said that she would tell our server but this did not happen. When our server stopped by to see if we were enjoying our meals we asked for our wine again. Our server quickly left to get our wine (25 minutes late) arrived at our table with 2 glasses of wine and said it would be on the house and it's a good thing it was because one glass had the expected amount and the other glass was half the amount at this point we we're unbelievably disappointed and just wanted to get out if there. We sipped our second round of short pours and pushed the grissel and bland lobster around on our plates as we waited for our server to come to our table so we could pay and leave. Our server never made it back to our table, once again we asked another server for our check and she said she'd send our server to us. Fifteen minutes later no server. Now totally fed up we got up and walked inside to pay our bill. Once inside our server approached us asking us if we wanted desert. REALLY! We declined and she said we could have whatever we wanted "on the house" and that she would bag it to go. We again declined telling her that we were all set. This all happened on August 16, 2018 on a very slow Thursday night. Needless to say, this was a terrible all around dining experience. This was less than a sunstandard fine dining experience. Don't waste your money. You'd be better served at the local pub down the street.
Stayed at this place for an entire week and was very happy with everything! The view of the harbor and Newport bridge is outstanding. The staff was also very helpful. They have a nice salt water pool if you are looking to stay in for the day or go swimming after a day in Newport. Downtown Jamestown is about a 10 minute walk from the Bay Voyage, and the Jamestown/Newport ferry is about the same distance. The room I stayed at was a good size for 2 people and was well kept and clean. Would definitely recommend this place.
