It was beautiful. There are so many activities to sign up for. I look forward to coming each year. Because of the pandemic I didn't go last year, and boy, was I unhappy. This is a great family gathering place.
Do not stay here! We arrived and our room was not at all as promised. It was a very small and my husband could barely turn around in the shower. The bed was not the size that we requested either. The receptionist was rude and never suggested I could speak to a manager. She wanted us out of there as quickly as possible. She informed me I would not be allowed to get my deposit back. I called after our vacation and was told we had been put in there smallest room, and they were unwilling to refund any of my deposit. They do not care about a customers happiness and perfectly content taking money without providing the services promised. The receptionist was dismissive and did not try to accommodate us at all.

As others have stated, I am saddened and torn writing this review. Our family has been coming here since 2001. At that time this place was absolutely magical and for the next eight visits/years it remained magical and it was even magical in 2013, but we all noticed a decline in the quality of the dining experience. Coming back in September 2021, was yet another revelation - of the further decline of the dinning experience and lower acumen of the previously stellar staff. We found dining to be a little better than a fairly good diner, but with New York City prices. The cabin had some plumbing issues which were 75% resolved, but the view from the deck over Lake Champlain was world class. I think that is what is now my draw to this venue. The location is world class, it s peaceful, it s quiet, the nights are dark and the weather is usually quite good. Just don t sign up for a meal plan and prepare to eat off-campus.
Basin Harbor is a very, very special place. It is wonderful for special occasions, weekends away, and it is a truly magical place to get married. Basin Harbor is a wonderful place, a gem in the Adirondacks. We were searching for a wedding venue in New England for a June wedding and fell in love with Vermont. Anne, the head wedding coordinator, was so gracious and responsive through the entire process, including through postponing our wedding an entire year due to COVID. Anne and the entire BH staff made the process as stress-free as possible. And the was just the planning! The whole wedding weekend went off without a hitch. I seriously couldn't be more pleased with how everything turned out and it was WORTH the wait. And after three trips, we've sampled many of their amenities and everything they have to offer, from the food to the cabins to the activities, is a blast. Having worked with this venue for over two years now, I can confidently recommend working with Basin Harbor for your event. I can't wait to go back!
Great place! We traveled by boat and thoroughly enjoyed the marina and its amenities across its 700 beautiful acres!
Good food, poor service considering few customers at the time we were there. We went out of our way to get there.
Longtime Vermont vacation resort with more history than you can imagine. They are bridging the gap between longtime summer traditions that families have been enjoying for generations while keeping up with modern needs without loosing that old summers on Lake Champlain experience.
I have traveled all over the world and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. The entire staff I came in contact with exhibited no customer service, they were poorly trained and could care less about customer satisfaction. My suite probably had not seen any maintenance in 5 years, it was very tired, dirty and shabby. Housekeeping did not change linens, replace towels, clean the room --nothing -- we did not get any service from thm for the entire time we were there. 3 days and 2 nights. When I asked for management they were unavailable. Finally, the bill was incorrect. I was overcharged. I would never recommend this establishment. They deserve lower than the lowest rating.
