Very very poor customer service. Disappointed would be an understatement. My girlfriend and I are avid wine-o's. We travel and visit many different winerys and vineyards on the north east coast. We were on our way from DC to Central PA when we decided to stop at this winery in northern MD. We looked up the hours and decided we could make it in time to try a sample. Due to traffic between DC and Baltimore, we were pushing it. However we pulled in at 5:27pm, got to the door at 5:28pm and the OPEN sign was in the window. We walked in, to be greeted with with a very unpleasant "we close at 5:30" we understood it was pushing it but most decent people or buisnesses would spare us one minute and let us sample or purchase a bottle of wine. Instead of gaining a lifelong customer they ran us out the door and threw the CLOSED sign up behind us, I didnt even get a word out of my mouth. Truly disappointed in the customer service, cant tell you if the wine is good or not and Ill never know, but as far as respect for a customer who wanted nothing more then to sample a wine and hope to write a good review, we have this. Cant believe the service given. The OPEN sign was still in the window!!! Most decent buisnesses would have said "we are getting ready to close would you like to sample a wine before we do" thats all it would have taken to keep me coming back. What a waste of my time.

I had the Basignani Lorenzino Reserve 2013. It was smooth, full-bodied and a nice balance of dark fruit. It will be featured on the FOX 45 Morning News monthly wine segment for November "Vinovember" presented by The Charm'tastic Mile of Baltimore.

They've done a really nice job creating a socially distanced set-up! As of September 2020, still no wine tastings but you can purchase bottles and pizza. If you rather not sit near other people, you can bring your own chair and hang out on the lawn under the trees.

Omg where to start?! This place is so beautiful, welcoming and charming! Renee was our guide for the wine tasting and she was amazing! My mom isn t a wine drinker, but indulged the tasting for my birthday and even she bought a bottle afterwards! We laughed the whole time! I would recommend this place to anyone! Thank you all for making this birthday one for the books! Me, my sister, my aunt and my wonderful mama couldn t have been more pleased with our visit.

I went to a wedding here that was held just outside of the vines, and the reception at their pavilion. The winery staff was extremely helpful and made us all feel like family. They let the wedding party bring in outside catering, but of course provided the wine, which was surprisingly good! Beautiful location and great wine!

Oct. 6th my daughter had her wedding at Basignanis and it could not have turned out any better. It's always iffy planning an outdoor wedding. This one for us was flawless. Kuddos to Lynn and staff for all their help and support. They did a great job, we love the place, the whole ambiance.....just wonderful. Lynn was always available to answer any questions or texts, emails. Could not asked for anything better. Santonis did the catering and helped tremendously. What support and the food, everyone raved.
Thank you all ever so so much.

I sent the owner Ms. Lynne an email asking her when they do their brick oven pizza. I told her I have been there multiple times and have missed it every time. I had to send her 3 emails and ask another question after every short, non personal answer. (as if I was a pain in her rear end) Had I not kept asking questions, I would not have found out that they only do it on SOME Fridays and it's only from 6-9 pm. This lady is not very personable and she has been rude when I've been there before. Never once has anyone made me feel welcome when I've gone there. There are a lot of wineries around who are very personable and I can get Brick Oven Pizza anywhere. All she needed to do is to answer the question with all of the information in the first email. Maybe she needs to let someone else handle customers and she needs to stay behind the wall.

First time at the winery and their tasting. A really good selection for a small winery. They put a lot of thought into the wines they produce and create some really interesting tasting wine. The quality was exceptional.

I was there with a small party of friends and relatives. The wine tasting was wonderful. We were not hurried (even though there was a good size crowd). Each selection was well explained. She engage the entire party, from novice to expert . We bought a case and had wine there with our pizza.

I should mention the pizza. Brick oven. Delicious. Perfect for a winter afternoon to munch while enjoying the wine we purchased.

This will be a new holiday tradition for the group. But I ll definitely be going back before next winter. I m looking forward to seeing the place on a spring or summer afternoon.

Love the wine and the atmosphere! The family is at all the events and is very friendly. You've got to come to the "Free Fridays" where they have free wine tasting and live music outside in their piazza. They make their delicious Italian brick oven pizza for sale and of course their delicious wine is for sale too. It's a family friendly event.

The staff here is incredible. I forgot his name, but the gentlemen with dark brown hair was our wine guide yesterday and he was amazing. He was well versed in the wines they produce, answered our questions without pause. My mom is prone to migraines so red wines are typically a no-no for her, but he poured a few extra white wine samples so she wouldn't feel left out. We ended up buying 15 bottles between my sister and I, and as my husband said, it's difficult to find a winery where you enjoy every type of wine, and Basignani hit that mark every time. The 3 dogs on premises made the visit better, at least for us anyway. What more could you ask for than wine and pups!! Will be back in the summer for their events :)

We sat outside. The wine is great, there was live music, the tree were changing colors for the fall and beautiful, and the pizza was the best we've had since we moved to Maryland. Also. There were 2 dogs walking around that lived there. They were very good pups, calm and they loved pets. They visited everyone outside. I wish I had asked one of the employees what kind of dog they are, so soft and well behaved.

The tasting room is a great space. The staff were incredibly helpful during our tasting, and in planning the event. Possibly, the only real problem is that cold-weather American grapes like Vidal make for poor wines. Most of the whites are made from American grapes, with a foxy, over-fermented finish.
The reds, though, use French vines and are very nice, if a little light. The Porto is delicious and if you are used to heavy ruby portos like Sandemans, this is very different and more subtle.

I am wondering about Terri's review. Everyone has a bad day once in a while but personally I don't get it. I have been to Basignani winery countless times and find it a great experience each time. Lynne Basignani makes everyone who comes there feel like a guest at her home. I am not a drinker per se so I won't speak to the wines except to say that all of my friends who have tasted them love them. The pizza is incomparable. Lynne uses flour from Italy and makes all of the dough herself. She makes the sauce herself and it is the best I have ever had. I hope that Terri will give it another chance.

LOVE BASIGNANI WINERY! The pizza is SO DELISH and the wine is the best. Dont understand Terri's review. I go there often and anytime I've been there the owner, Lynne, has been so hospitable and so has eveyone else. I know you can get brick oven pizza elsewhere, but theirs is the best I've had. Times when they are particularly busy, they might not have time to chit chat, but Lynne has always been friendly and gracious to me. Good food, good wine, good entertainment! Love it!

Asked about wedding for a gay couple- very unfriendly and uninviting feel. Gave it a second chance and spoke to Lynn again, thinking that the first time was just a bad day... Just as bad the second time. Felt very uncomfortable there. Never want to go back.

Nice wine tasting in rustic, rural setting. Outside seating to enjoy their homemade, authentic brick oven pizza was a little too rustic for us. The seating consisted of picnic tables under tents. Cheese plate was good with wine pairing. A conversation area with plush seating would create a more enjoyable experience.

Great winery close to home (Baltimore/DC area). We came on a whim for Valentine's Day wine and wound up doing the wine and truffle pairing. The wine was was delicious and the truffles (some made with the wines) were amazing! Molly was an absolute delight as a hostess and we are already making plans to come back for Friday Movie Nights in the spring!

My lovely girlfriend and I decided to celebrate our 6 year anniversary by signing up for a wine tasting. Not only were our expectations exceeeded, but we left feeling like something of a wine connoisseur! Jerry was our guide on our journey tasting various wines, and he was absolutely AMAZING! Not only was he knowledgeable when it came to the variations of wines, he was able to engage us in stimulating and personable conversation with each wine we tried! We couldn t have asked for a better way to start our day, and we decided to make this a monthly thing with friends! Thank you Jerry!

With a name like Basignani we were expecting nothing but great things. Sadly, we had just an ok experience. My group and I have been hitting many spots on the Maryland Wine Trail this summer and were expecting this one to be a great add to the list. Upon entering, the grounds were very nice and the tasting room had the cozy feel to it. A large amount of the enjoyment of wine tasting come from the experience, and this is where we were let down. Our wine taster was newer as she admitted to us, but we never felt that welcoming connection that many of the other Vineyards have. It seemed like we were a bother and they just wanted to complete the tasting. In addition, we asked about tours, which calling ahead the previous day were told are done by request. Unfortunately, they would not provide us with tours now or later in the day. Things were very hectic within the tasting room and again we never established that personal connection like many of the other vineyards mange to do so well. Perhaps we just got them on a bad day...
