Barooga Sports Club Review

It was a set lunch we had, unfortunately the meal was overcooked and dry.

Edit and Response: If your staff take great pride in their work, then why was the meal overcooked and dry? This just proves your statement is wrong and your blind to the daily on goings in the kitchen, because if your staff take great pride in their work the meal would not of been overcooked and dry...It's simple logic that they don't take pride in their work at all, every meal should be good if not better than the last meal they cooked, if they have that much pride in their work. It's more like they don't care and you're blind running around with gold wool pulled over your eyes.

Now its one star, not three because of you having no idea about the quality of food from the kitchen and your blatant lie about how your staff take pride in their work..

Consistent quality comes from pride, over cooked and dry food comes from 'staff who do not care...'

Great place for a casual meal but go with an appetite as meals are big.

Have been coming to Barooga Sports Club for a number of years while holidaying in Cobram. Always a great meal, big serves, fantastic steak and option of half meals for kids who might need a bit more than a kid's meal. Bonus also they serve meals to 8.30pm (rather the usual 8pm in regional areas).

Charges for a year membership when been locked out of state .won't rush back

Sporties, a great venue with weekly specials. Join as a member and get great discounts it's only $10 a year. The venue is good, easy parking, fast friendly service and nice food. The cafe is cool and quiet during the day. Recommended if you're in town

Terrible service. Waited 2 hours for 4 parmas. Multiple tables that sat down 45min after us were served parmas and steaks promptly after ordering. Staff were not apologetic and didn't seem to care. We were told after 90min that the parmas "won't be too long", after another 20min we asked for a refund and found out that they hadn't started cooking them yet.

Also a pretty limited, overpriced menu.

Wow! First visit here. First impressions are impressive. Easy sign in for non members using your drivers license. Right next to a golf course. Very green. Had a 70th bday's lunch there. Plenty of dining and socialising space. Plenty of pokies. Outside pokies for the smokers. TAB area. Kids playground (small but practical). Adult supervision required at all times. Food for lunch was average. Prices were reasonable. Occasionally have entertainers perform. Akmal will be there in November! Sorry no pics. See website.

Pretty relaxing venue for the family and little gambling for the adults. Decent food, lovely staff.

Friendly staff, great meals throughout the day. Sign up for a membership if you are in town for more than a few days. The savings are worth every penny.

Local R.S.L. with one of the best golf courses in Australia right next door. Excellent food and facilities with poker machines and kids games room as well as huge function room. Staff and security are some of the nicest and best workers in the country (always great customer service

Wish I could say more but suggest you book before going.. silly us just walked it but they were booked out. Massive club and very nice staff.. if I get better organised next time ill be able to write a better review.

overpriced meals in the bistro.....I had the chicken and avocado cheesey sacue mornay which was $30.50 for a chicken breast a slice of avocado 3 prawns with a tablespon of sauce....Complete rip off...The night before I had a steak it was so fatty and poorly cooked was the orst I have ever eaten....Good note was the staf very friendly but would recommend not eating here

Staff members are always happy with a smile on their faces. It's a great family atmosphere.

This place is AMAZING! the food was cooked fresh, it came out hot and the service was so quick .. and it was DELICIOUS! we live 3 hours away but would definatley drive the distance for what we got last night .. I can honestly say I havent had a decent meal like that in a long time .. keep up the great work guys ..

Amazing club house combining rsl, golf and lions clubs. Good food, bar and social atmosphere.

Good club meals are good and the drinks are reasonable

Lovely, well cooked and well presented meal. Member prices very reasonable. Followed by enjoyable afternoon with free ballroom dancing.

Drinks expensive if you are not a member. I paid around $15 for frothy and ginger beer. Frothy was supposed to be $5.60.

Staff should be more aware, enquired about lunch at 11.30am and was told only what is available now, which wasn't much, at 12pm a full lunch menu came on

Great food, well worth becoming a member. When you join they give you discounts that easly cover the cost of membership.

Enjoyed lunch at the club with my wife, nice, clean and big for a country venue with a golf course.
