Everything is clean, calm, and pretty. My dad is enjoying excellent care. It s a lovely, peaceful, and compassionate community.
Barclay Friends was a god-send for the care of my parents. We were able to move them into skilled care for mom and personal care for dad and they were a half mile from where I lived. Moving them from the Reading, PA area gave me and my brother more freedom to visit. Both of them had great care all the way through their dementia years passing for mom in 2013 and dad in 2016. I don't know how we would have made it without the help from the staff at Barclay Friends. Both my brother and I were able to visit frequently although he lives in Delaware County. I was there for meals with mom and dad 4 to 5 days per week. Dad also entered the Memory Care Program and it helped to keep him in personal care rather than go to skilled care.
My mother resided at Barclay Friends until her passing. The facility far exceeded our expectations having been to three other facilities previously. My mother was treated with utmost care, kindness, and love as though she was each staff members own family.
Neglect, abuse, incompetence, and cruelty is what your loved one will suffer through here.
I am forever grateful for the outstanding care physical and emotional that my mother received while residing at Barclay Friends. They made my mother s transition into her new home SO much better (safer and enriching) than my experience with other senior living facilities and, frankly, so much better than I could have ever imagined. My thanks to all staff; you are all special people and truly gifted at what you do.
Barclay Friends has a very caring staff and the community is very residential, beautiful, and location is great in the Borough of West Chester, but in a residential neighborhood. The new Preston building is perfect for someone who is independent, but does not want to cook or clean anymore.
All I can say is my mom loves this place. She is always in such a good mood and talks about all the people that she s made friends with who work there. They sound as though they are extremely nice and caring people.
My mother has never once complained about this place. That says a lot!!
Thank you Barclay Friends for taking such good care of my mom :-)
My Mom has been at Barclay for 8 months and I can't say enough good things about the facility and staff. Blows away other places my Mom was at by far.
