Bar Smith Review

I really hate to leave poor reviews as I know how it affects a business. However, my experience here was sub par and I feel like people need to hear this. I ve had a great time in this bar, but my last few experiences have been very poor. Getting in to this bar is challenging and I don t feel as if I need to be questioned by security entering after paying my cover. I ve been questioned after paying lots in a cover fee, I m a small female and when a guy a lot bigger than me is pressing me and putting a finger in my face, it makes me feel very unsafe in an establishment like this. Be careful where you spend your money ladies.

Certainly a top place in the area. Definitely worth a return visit. The bill was fair for the quality of the food. Not close to my job, I wish it was.

We went here for a bachelorette party. I couldn't believe how rude the bouncer was. Seems to me you would want to accommodate a large group of attractive women over the long line of guys you are patting down for weapons. We ended up going to another bar in the area and having a great time but I wouldn't waste my time coming back to this business.

This place was really busy on Saturday. There was a $10 cover, hip-hop downstairs and house upstairs. It was a good night.

I met some ffriends at Bar Smith and we had a blast ! After all these years I never knew down town phonix had such an awesome little bar !!

Generous deals made available. Free before 11pm. Just had to text the guest line. $2 drink special before 11pm too. Long islands, AMF, a beer and a pink something. Upstairs bar had house or techno. Downstairs had hip hop. Bottles services were only $100. No complaints from me.

Its was good slow at first but eventually got going. Bartender was real good staff security was reall good as well

It s closed! Went there on Wed night for The hop night and signs in front says shut down indefinitely. Update google and your site please.

Rooftop LA vibes upstairs, and comfy AC vibes downstairs. The building shows it's age, but still rocks as a venue.

Best spot in Phoenix on a Saturday for some house music on the rooftop. Friendly crowd. Awesome staff. The people here are genuine. Not your typical club atmosphere.

Overall a decent bar/club. the rooftop is nice, with good resident djs and usually a good crowd (although sometimes it does get packed nut2butt). Decent drink specials, but don't expect to open a tab, they'll tell you some BS about the system being down >_> hate dishonesty.

The DJ's was playing some fire!! Oldskool And NewSkool... And they actually had turntables and was mixing and bringing it back!! Pretty chill spot to go if you're visiting and in the downtown Phx area.

For the cover charge not much to offer. But great drinks and mini food service bar in the back 1st floor. Hard to get to when busy and small however.

It s not bad, it s open late, and I like the different levels, but my last experience we went on a Wednesday night for my birthday & they charged us $15 cover (girls & boys) which was weird on a Wednesday but whatever maybe there were a lot of people or good djs but we get inside & it is EMPTY. I don t mean only a couple people, it was EMPTY. There was ONE dj upstairs so that s where everyone was hanging out. Granted, he was really good but when I tried to look on their website to see who he was if that was why they charged a cover there was no info about it. I just lost my taste for the place.

Went last Saturday 12/12/15. The cover was $10. The place isn't huge, the downstairs is kind of like a cave. They were playing hip hop downstairs. I didn't spend much time downstairs as I found the rooftop much more fun. They had a light show going on and it was packed when I got there around 12am. The DJ was playing some good deep house music that reminded me of a club I used to go to in NYC. I really got into it and had a blast dancing. I recommend pre gaming before as the drinks are pricy after 11. I asked for some OJ ciroc and the bartender said $9 I gave her a $20 then she said $10 when she saw the $20. Kindof seemed like she was just making up prices. The drink came in a tiny plastic cup. It was definitely a very fun night though.

Downstairs dj rocks. He looks like someone I went to high school with.

Double floor, gorgeous woman and cool guys to have a fun night out in the town. Never too busy, but just the right amount of people!

This club was ok. Bit disappointed by the "house" music they advertised the night we went. It was more like techno the whole night. We left pretty disappointed.

Fun energetic danced all night long. Drinks are cheap. People were nice.

Worst experience with a bar I ve ever had. And this is coming from someone who had worked in the industry. My friends string on his mask was broke and he offered to pay for a new one that they had in Hand. My friends offered them $20 for the mask and they said no. My friend (who is a girl) spoke up frustrated and one of the bouncers (who is fat) got in her face and started pressing her. We stuck up for her and then he tried to fight my friend in the street (extremely unprofessional) and they told us we can t come in after we paid $60 and were already buying a bottle. Long story short we took our business elsewhere. I would strongly encourage never going here.

10$ per person entry fee on Friday night, expected. Two DJ's on two floors. Both playing EDM music. Seems like a fun place with better music playing. Upstairs bar is on patio with an enclosed view of an apartment building, still pretty cool atmosphere. Bar upstairs and downstairs. Would come back again.

Pretty nice club with a chill environment. Upstairs is a techno dance house with a patio on the roof. Then you go downstairs and the vibe morphs into a cool hip hop dance club. Overall a ni e experience in downtown.

Medium to small roof area to dance and listen to DJ with a bar upstairs and down. Also cool visuals upstairs.

Love this place. Cant wait the see Tha Seasoned Vets perform here again on August 4th.

Kind of hard to get a drink so get drunk before you show up. Love the different music options. Hiphop first floor and electronic upstairs. Get tired of one, switch.

The bartender who works on the 2 floor I think her name is Shelby she is the best, super cute, friendly
And honestly I forgot the cel at the bar and she kept it and gave it back to me ,she made my night she is beautiful inside and outside

This was an awesome experience. One of a kind, CAN NOT BE MISSED. The DJ was spinning some great tracks on the roof top dance floor. The bar staff is on top of it. Top notch service. There are DJ's spinning on both levels.

It was pretty crazy, but it was 1st Friday so everything was busy. $10 pp cover charge. Would have been awesome if one were trippin.

Cool concept! Sounds weird to say, but the only problem was some very strange people dancing near us that made the experience uncomfortable.

The only spot to be on a Friday night. Great house music and good company! Drink prices are very affordable, as well, serve by some of the nicest bartenders.

My girlfriend and I went here recently for brunch and we were glad that we did! I had the grand mariner french toast and she had the filet Mignon eggs Benedict. We also shared a side of grits and thick cut Canadian bacon. The french toast was good but nothing out of the ordinary. The eggs Benedict however were pretty amazing! Adding the filet Mignon made it something unique. The grits and bacon were also excellent. As for the service, our waiter was very attentive and pleasant. We'll be back for dinner sometime

Dopest club in downtown Phoenix. Solstice Saturdays are completely & utterly off the chain. Do yourself a favor and check it!

Well , i think that this is the only place in phoenix with a dissent tech music . but it close to early.

Someone needs to open a bar like this one by my house. $6 rotating selection of beers from all over! There were a LOT of brews from AZ when I visited though which I was a tad bit disappointed about because I wanted to try more of the local stuff, but hey. not complaining! Enjoyed the beers and the chill atmosphere. It's a simple bar with a few tables and seats at the bar. Glad we checked this place out! It was fairly packed for a Monday night too.

I've never been here not drunk out my mind. Def where the night goes to die downtown. I've never not had a good time haha.

I like the place but sometimes music is not that good. But mostly its good.
