The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was a bit poor for my taste but still good.

The hotel is very quiet and nice.
In the party area to Chaweng you drive with the scooter / taxi 10 minutes. Even the most popular with tourists "Fisherman Village" can be reached in 10 minutes on foot.

Was put right at front of hotel which overlooks busy main road. Very noisey at night so asked to move to quieter room. All rooms fully booked up so will wait another day. Breakfasts are very varied. I'm surprised no green tea bags just loose green tea leaves. Hotel seems to be full of families with young children. Pools and ground's are immaculate.

Lovely resort. The staff are really friendly, the grounds are pretty and well maintained, and the breakfast is great - lots of choice and good quality. Our Plunge Pool room was spacious, although a little tired in places, and comfortable. The hotel is fantastically positioned, a 5 minute walk along the beach to Fisherman's Village, with loads of shops, bars and restaurants. The main pool is large and very pretty and the beach pool has a fantastic outlook to the sea and Ko Phangan. We would go back.

The Bandara is a good, now with many package tourists resident hotel. Spacious rooms with balcony. Some rooms are located on the noisy street. Breakfast buffet rich and right on the beach. Pool on the beach as well as in the spacious garden area. The beach itself is heaped with gravel and therefore not original. Fine, white tropical beach is not available here.

We checked in after our Thailand tour here in Samui and found the hotel really great. The rooms are spacious and well-kept especially in my opinion the complex itself, very tidy and clean! Likewise, everything is well structured and also incredibly friendly staff! The breakfast was excellent!

The kids loved the accommodations! We stayed in the room that had kids bunkbeds and they loved them. The pools were very clean. The view was amazing! The breakfast had enough choices for this size of a resort, Although we were there during a low tourism time. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and always smiling. The only downside was the local Street market night market was only open one time during our stay there.

Pool Villa Suite .. The room is big and the bathroom is as big as the room, and the bathtub is very big .. I can add an extra bed ~ When I got water in the bathtub, Pool Villa pool water quality is good and it is quite wide. Staff is very kind and we went to summer vacation season in korea but we did not see any one in korea .. the main swimming pool in front of the resort is not clear, the water quality is not good, The hotel is located in the center of the resort and is a good place to stay for a couple of days on the beach. Landscaping was so pretty and there were many programs for children.

This is a pretty difficult review because we've stayed here before and had excellent memories of it. This visit is 6 years later so I'll just break it down into good and not so good.

The good stuff:

- Great layout, really easy to get around
- Good location in terms of access to Family Mart, Morya Pharmacy and a dozen massage places directly across the street
- Really good "events" each week. BBQ on the beach (which we didn't make it to) and a twice-weekly markets (which we went to every time) are excellent. Cheap, live band etc.
- Extremely helpful staff although you expect that in Thailand. The Thai people are just amazing - it's one of the reasons we love visiting Thailand.
- Excellent evening food in the restaurant
- Well-appointed rooms
- Very easy to arrange things through the reception desk (tours, pickup etc)
- Free return shuttle between Bandara and Chaweng (get in quick though - the spots fill up days in advance)
- Nice pool areas
- Perfect beach access
- Seemingly full-time beach food vendors, making it easy to grab snacks or full meals while getting some sun
- Happy hour every day between 5 and 7 (although their happy hour certainly isn't the cheapest in the area)

The not so good stuff:

- Tons of noise through the walls from our neighbours
- Breakfast restaurant food is good but is also the type of buffet you'd find in any resort around the world
- This is definitely not the resort for you if you don't like the constant presence of kids. There are more kids around than adults and that can easily detract from the relaxing atmosphere you'd be entitled to "expect" at a resort like this
- This is also not the resort for you if you don't like smoking/smokers. Every other nearby resort seems to have no smoking signs but Bandara doesn't have that at all. Cigarette smoke is pretty much constant in the bar and near the restaurant ... very unpleasant for non-smokers like us.
- Room cleaning could've been better. The cleaner was friendly and fast but forgot something different every day and often didn't take used towels out of the bathtub (the room instructions clearly say to leave them there if you'd like them changed).
- Air conditioning extremely loud. Not an issue for me but could be an issue for others that can't sleep with that sort of thing.

Overall we still enjoyed our time at Bandara and would stay again, but there are a few things that could be improved.

Pretty good. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. Enjoyed our stay for six nights, staff are so polite and there's lots to do such a Pilates, gym, swimming, massage etc. There's some free stuff but this isn't a cheap resort and most things will set you back. Drinks are very expensive with not that great a view and there's no atmosphere in general during down season. Resort is a little rough around the edges too with some sections pretty gross (most nearly the beach front). Rooms are pretty however and the location is great and close to the fisherman's village, however it was pretty boring after 4 days but maybe I just don't know how to relax!!!

Stayed 12 days in the hotel.

Stayed 12 days in the hotel.
So far there is nothing to complain about.
Clean rooms, nice staff and at the front desk even 2 German staff who do everything possible to make you relax.
For Thailand a really good hotel.

The only thing we didn't like was the beach. Everything else was perfect. The staff we're amazing, the room with the pool fantastic, breakfast awesome. We hihgly recommend the romantic private dinner at the beach.

I stayed here for 3 days. Nice family room!!
The rooms are clean and spacious. 10 min to walk to fisherman village. If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay where you and family can relax then this is the place. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. I love this place.

We only came across the Bandara Resort through friends. The website presented itself well and based on the booking made by friends, we also decided on this resort. The family friendliness was just huge. There were various possibilities to entertain the children on the whole area and there was also no shortage as a couple. The restaurant staff was always very friendly, helpful and the food was excellent. The only criticism was that the meal menu was not always complete, so a few favorites only after inquiries were discovered. The card was always added immediately without discussion. The rooms were nicely decorated with all the amenities like air conditioning, fridge and rain shower. The extra in the family room for me was definitely the nicely furnished children's room with bunk beds. I was also impressed by the staff. Lance was always there for the small organizational inquiries and the check-in was very pleasantly done by Stefan. The staff reacted superbly even in difficult situations such as the storm Pabuk. I particularly praise Mix which left our rooms in a perfectly cleaned condition. She always responded to our time requests and so our children could always enjoy an afternoon nap.

Gorgeous staff who can't do enough for us. Stunning plunge pool room, beautiful brand new beachside bar and restaurant, excellent main pools and lush gardens. The restaurants were the best we have experienced on Samui.

Terrible. Dirty smelly Damp room facing a very busy road with a steep entrance. Unhelpful staff, we were dealt with a very rude smirking assistant manager ( which is most unusual in Thailand). We have been to Thailand numerous times since 1987, and this was the only bad experience we have had. We had to leave after a long 4 hours.

Very nice facility, well maintained, friendly staff, good prices. The only downside: the rooms facing the street. Very loud (there is need for action in the form of noise insulation)

This is a very nice resort situated right on Bophut beach, 10mins walk to Fishermans Wharf Village which has multiple high quality restaurants bars and shops. The Bandara is a large resort with multiple pools for all ages and has a great restaurant and bars. Their "plunge pool villas" with private courtyard are excellent.

The room.was magnificent. It had a spacious private background with a small pool and a rest area. Also had a nice outdoor shows and bath tub on the opposite side by the bathroom. Bathroom itself was very spacious and functional. Staff is very friendly and the Hotel has a great layout and many amenities. Location is great and the same applies to the breakfast. Recommended.

We really enjoyed the Bandara Hotel and gave us a few nice days on Koh Samui. Friendly staff, also German-speaking, high cleanliness, great food offer, and also very concerned about the safety of the guests during the beginnings of Corona. There is really nothing to complain about here, great facility in which you can enjoy yourself ... The only small minus point is that the beach is a bit coarse-grained, which makes it very hot and uncomfortable on your bare feet. The sea is unfortunately not very clear, but the beach is well maintained. We had one room with our own veranda and plunge pool as well as a free shower. And can highly recommend this.

Very good stay at this resort, but it is definitely mid-range. The rooms are well kept but the construction is somewhat basic. The staff are exceptionally helpful. My biggest knock against this resort is sort of out of their control: the beach is not great, with cloudy waters and course sand. In general, Samui should be your last choice for a Thai Beach vacation, but if you're stuck on Samui, then Bandara is a fine choice for the money.

Stunning. This resort is beautiful and the staff are extremely friendly. The rooms are stunning and if you get the pool villa suite it just feels like you're in another world. The breakfast spread is great and we never had to wait for a table. The food is all prepared fresh and they also make their own jams which is strange to point out but they are phenomenal. Really nice bar on the beach and the vibe is always a great one. Couldn't visit the spa as it was unfortunately still under renovation but the other facilities were great. The gym is clean and very well equipped. There is also a games room by the kids play area which has a pool table and a table tennis table as well as some board games on the days when the weather isn't great. You can also get the staff there to babysit for you if you need to step out for a few hours and your kids will be in great hands. Also a short walk along the beach to Fisherman's village however the sand is quite coarse so you definitely need a good pair of Sandles or possibly shoes if you have sensitive feet. The beach is really great and clean and you seem to get harrassed a lot less than in Chaweng so that is also a positive. Great resort.

Came for our honeymoon and stayed in a private villa. It was wonderful. The staff are friendly, the service timely, and the views are beautiful. The stay came with a big buffet breakfast overlooking the beach. They offer numourus activities and classes ranging from yoga, to Thai boxing, kayaking, and many more. Some are free. The only draw back is the room service food. It is a little costly and the food is mediocre ( even though the breakfast food is good). We plan on coming back.

We stayed at Bandara in June 2019 it was our 3rd holiday there, we were very surprised when we arrived the reception area looked amazing, it has been renovated and the whole area is wonderful, the staff as usual were right on the ball to greet us with a refreshing drink and a big welcoming smile. Ther staff speak excellent English, We had just come from another resort which was not very good at all and we wished we had just booked 3 weeks at Bandara instead of splitting our time, we will stay at Bandara for longer next time in stead of splitting between 2. Staff are so friendlly and go out of there way to assist. We stayed in a pool villa room which is lovely and extremely clean the pools are amazing, and as usual it is a shot stroll along the beach to the fishermans village which is full of restaurants shops and very nice local people. We cant wait to go back to Bandara resort again.

An excellent resort with the sea right at the back! With 4 different pools, including one for the little ones, there are plenty of spots to cool off after basking in the sun.

The resort does many themed nights such as a night market on the beach with delicious foods and a Thai themed night buffet.

The staff are very attentive and made sure that our stay here was unforgettable!

The resort is perfectly equipped with several swimming pools, private beach, gardens, restaurant and bar, and every day they organize activities of all kinds, so that you could spend a week without leaving and you would not get sick. If we add that it is located 10 minutes from Fisherman Village, where there are all kinds of restaurants and shops, and that the setting is quiet very different from Chageng, it becomes an excellent choice.

We stayed at the bandara for 5 nights in the family room with our two kids. We received a baby bed for free and the kids had their own room with sliding doors and a nice view on the tropical garden. It was truly perfect. The only negative remark would be that maybe the cocktails and food not included in our stay were very pricey. But you have a great service by the pool and a beach and overall a wonderful hotel. The rooms are new and super clean. You have beach towels everywhere, kids activities, water sports... and you can walk to the fisherman s village where you can eat at great restaurants like the coco tam s. We strongly recommend for a family holiday!

My husband Rick and I just spent 10 days at the Bandara Resort on Koh Samui Island. We had the best time. We had a Pool Villa for the 10 days which was absolutely amazing. To have an outdoor shower (and an indoor shower as well) and bath and our own pool was nothing short of excellence. It was private, very clean and spacious. The other very special thing that made our stay even more pleasurable was we met Kristy who was Customer Relations Manager. She looked after us extremely well and was always, always happy to see us and spend time answering all the many questions we had for her. Rick and I were saying that EVERY resort should have someone like Kristy at the front office, especially speaking English. We saw how she had respect for the other Thai staff who inturn respected and loved her also. The service was brilliant and the food was amazing! We would not hesitate in recommending this resort to anyone and please make sure you ask for 'Kristy' - tell her Rick & Trish said to say 'hello - we miss here smiling face!'

We had a wonderful time here. Reception staff went out of their way to be helpful and the vibe was relaxed and friendly. We stayed in a family room with bunk beds and it was great, had everything you needed even a little step so young ones can reach the sink. Standard of our room was very high. Would definitely recommend staying here. Thanks for everything Bandara.

I went to Ko Samui in mid March with my girlfriend.
We arrived late at night from our flight and they received us with a cool bevarage and a refreshing cold towel.
They let us relax while they were taking care of the check in process.
Then they took us to the room on a golf cart with our bags.
The room was spacious and comfortable.
The bathroom was really big as well with a tub and a shower. They provided great toiletries and complementary drinking water every day. There also were robes, sleepers and even a big beach bag to use during the stay.
The bed was really comfortable with lots of pillows with different densities.
All rooms have their own balcony with a table and a big chair to relax.
The resort was incredible.
There whole complex is covered with trees, laws, ponds and fountains.
Both pools where beautiful, perfect for relaxing.
The hotel beach is incredible. There were amazing chairs and we never had a problem getting one, no matter what time we arrived.

The beach restaurant was really good for lunch with reasonable prices and really good food. We never had dinner so I can't comment on that.

The breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of choices, egg bar, fresh fruit, Asian food, western food and and real cappuccino machines (I'm really picky with my coffee and it was perfect).

The staff was just amazing. Everyone was super polite, super friendly and always trying to make you comfortable. They even sent us the tour photos that we accidentally left at the front desk through the mail.
On top of that, the hotel was perfectly located right next to the Fisherman's Village which had lots of amazing restaurants and small shops.
If you go there definitely check it out on Fridays where they have a market with street food and lots of things to shop at really cheap prices.

Overall we had an amazing experience in paradise and we would definitely come again.

Thank you for a perfect vacation

Had a villa room with own pool. Check in was efficient and reception was extremely polite. Room was generally clean, but notice that the rooms are not turned down - which is helpful to clear out insects in the evening. Pillows were clumpy. Buffet breakfast was elaborate, and the western room service food is better than the Thai food. Good location to walk to fisherman s village. Don t expect a white sand beach.

Nice friendly resort and spa. Polite, helpful and happy staff. Really good quality food in the restaurant. Fish and prawn dishes are amazing. Nice pools. Kids play area. Highly recommended.

We stayed in the Pool Villa room for 2 nights, best value hotel you can find in Bophut. We had a great time there and loved their buffet breakfast with various options of Thai foods and fruits every morning. Great location which right next to Bophut beach and only 7 mins walk to Fisherman Village, you can find lots of souvenirs store and massage there. The only thing I would complain about is the bathroom shower, the water pressure was too weak and the bathtub water came in black seeds (mineral perhaps?!).

Great holiday x hotel was clean and tidy ......they tried really hard to get the pool crystal clear .......they were succeeding but we left before they managed it .....the staff are great and are more than helpful. Thank you.

Good hotel, helpful staff, tasty breakfasts, a large well-groomed green area, stayed for 7m with a child in a villa with a pool, the villa is clean, every day they bring fruit, the pool in the room, although not big, but warm, we were satisfied, I was very pleased with the shower and bathroom on the street. I didn t really like the beach - you go into the water like sand, and after a couple of meters there is already dirt. In the fishing village (not far from the hotel) you can visit an interesting market. I recommend a hotel for families with children

Great hotel, good location right next to Fisherman village. The staff is nice, always to help. We had taken "pool villa", we recommend. The decoration is typical of Thailand.
Free water and fruit provided daily in the room
The wifi is just great top! Breakfast very rich (there is something for everyone).

The beach bungalows are worn and need to be renovated for the money just too expensive. The massages have no quality and are too expensive just across the street because there are much better and much cheaper massages !!!
