Great historic hotel with good restaurant. Really authentic (this means that parts of hotel and some pieces of furniture are pretty old - but they are preserved well, and it's actually adding to the overall charm and feel). Excellent place to relax after a day in Smoky Mountains or Blue Ridge Parkway - has several fireplaces in the lobby!

We had an excellent experience at this hotel! The lobby was warm and welcoming and the rooms were clean. You have to keep in mind that this is an old hotel, so the (beautiful old) wooden floors creak and are uneven and some of the door frames are a little crooked. I personally love little details like that. Since it is old, I was very impressed with the temperature control in the room and the amazing water pressure in the shower. The water warmed up very quickly too, which was great. I will definitely be back to this gem!

Had a wonderful stay at this historic hotel. It was quite peaceful. The scenery is amazing with great views of the surrounding mountains. Rooms are all unique and cared for. You'll have the sense of relaxation upon arriving at the hotel. I'd highly recommend this location

This place is very cool! We did not stay here but, we did walk around. The dining room is absolutely beautiful for a wedding or any occasion. We asked the employees if there were any "haunted" rooms and they helped us out! Rooms 201-205 on the 2nd floor are supposedly "haunted."

Just a wonderful place to go and get away from it all! It s like stepping back in time. We loved everything about the hotel and the staff was wonderful. Had breakfast in the dining room and the food and presentation were excellent. It snowed one day and just going outside and looking back at the hotel was breathtaking. Anyone looking for a great experience and feeling like you are living in the early 1900 s should go here. We have been four times and have never been disappointed. I recommend it to all my friends, and most of them have gone and loved it.

We had the most beautiful Easter lunch here with the family. It was so calm, the food was wonderful, the employees full of smiles and all sorts of information about the history of the hotel when asked, and quite eager to tell I all they knew with smiles. The family from various places throughout the US were able to relax and enjoy themselves in this quaint setting. Couldn't have asked for a more wonderful setting.

Eclectic throwback, really neat place to stay. New owners seem to be making improvements. Used to get breakfast with your stay, now it is $14. Historic setting. Just a little Dr will find you in numerous places for eating and shopping or just enjoying nature. Would give a 5-star but one Improvement they need is the beds. They are a bit hard.
