Lovely hotel friendly staff great food. Great for a romantic get a way

The contactless machine didn't work and the food was just not that great.

Great service, very good food, and had a very good stay

I could not say it is a 4 star, maybe a 2 star. My experience is not good.

Close to Newry. Quiet spot. Good food. Restaurant staff very friendly. Breakfast disappointing.

Beautiful gardens and hotel, the staff are also amazing.

Food was lovely however prices have gone up for the bar menu quite a bit..

Only fault golf course needs a more updated and upgraded card - showing water, oob's and yardage more visable.

Very good conference facilities but beware Google Maps which tried to send me down a narrow lane and through a closed back gate. If it happens to you turn right and then left. Jammy Dodgers were available as part of the mid-morning refreshments, which is worth a gold star in its own right.

Ballymascanlon was an excellent wedding reception venue as chosen by my Daughter in law Rachael and Son Alex.
The whole day 25 July was perfect from start to finish, the staff were all brilliant, very attentive, the food was outstanding and quantiful. The grounds are stunning and I couldn't recommend this hotel enough, I just wanted to give credit where credit is due. Many Thanks to all the staff who made this day even more special. Jacqueline

Family including toddler and newborn went here recently for lunch. Sat down at 13:05, order wasn't taken until 13:35. People who arrived after us not only ordered, but were served their lunch before our order was even taken. Not acceptable way for a 4-star hotel to deal with a young family in my opinion. We did get a token half-hearted apology from the staff member when our order was eventually taken but it was hollow. Food however was really nice. The hotel grounds looked great and the bar was comfortable to sit in. The TV in the bar though was on a cheesy Country Music channel for the duration with the sound turned up - mind boggling. Must be absolute torture for the staff listening to that all day. Will probably return but either more staff or more attentive staff would be recommended. And a change of TV channel.

This hotel is beautiful I just said yesterday I wish I was coming here to stay for a few nights it's a jewel between Dublin and Belfast and near Cooley Peninsula family owned and so well run sports complex wonderful!!! Well done guys

Very nice hotel. Out of the way. Ideal if you are a golfer. Food normally very good. A couple of hiccups.

Had my wedding party here =fantastic and nothing but happy memories, lots of family &friends thoroughly enjoyed their stay.
Have also had several large family meals in the restaurant and always been well looked after.
Recently played golf on the attached course which was in fantastic condition. With a light bite to eat and drink afterwards which was also very good.

Lovely hotel. Set on beautiful grounds . Golf course and wooded areas. Lovely gardens around the old house part of the hotel. The hotel has rooms in the original house and in the modern wing. Good function rooms food is amazing. Staff are very helpful. A lovely place to stay.

Good hotel near to Dundalk, golf course on site, 2 tennis courts, swimming pool,outdoor jacuzzi. Great gardens and excellent accommodation.

This place is beautiful but I was only there for a while. I had scones and it was the best one I tasted in my life so far. If you are interested in history, there is a big cobble.

keys didn't work when we checked in however this was quickly resolved. rooms were nice and clean, few complaints

Needs time to recover. The course could be great but winter has taken its told. Well worth playing when it has recovered

The room I had in Ballymascanlon was great. Beautiful... Loads of room, and the food was marvellous, especially the breakfast.

I didn't pay for my one-night stay here but it was most pleasant, with a nice big room that had a not unpleasant view, a decent and stomach-filling dinner (lamb cutlets which were tasty but a little chewy), and magnificent grounds set within a nice-looking golf course. Tennis courts, swimming pool and gym are all on-site too. Looking forward to another stay in the near future and making better use of the facilities!

Nice grounds and bedrooms. Buffet full irish breakfast was ok.

Hotel was lovely. Staff were amazing. So much to do. The only problem was the height from the shower head to the floor was 5 foot so I had to contort myself to fit under and the water pressure was terrible.

Great environment. The bar and the event room were spacious and nicely decorated. The food was nice and the staff helpful.

20 a bit steep for 9 holes at 8 on a Saturday morning.

Nice hotel,lovely grounds, food very tasty. Oy complaint is the the lack of room temperature control. Our room was too hot all the time we stayed there. Loads of activities to do locally.

Overall a very nice place, we stayed for one night while in the area. Bedroom very spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable bed as well as a great shower. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. One star removed because the restaurant set menu dinner prices were not clearly displayed anywhere (and although the food was very nice, felt a bit overpriced), and there was no room temperature control.

Dream hotel in the old style beautifully located in a park. Spacious rooms everything very stylishly thought out. Old school hotel.
