Great hotel, friendly atmosphere polite helpful staff

Great hotel always a perfect place to stay helpful and friendly staff.

It is a very nice Place for a Wedding and nice drive up to the Hotel from the Road

Great hotel for a short break. Nice pint of Guinness. And good food. Friendly staff.

Beautiful venue for weddings or just a relaxing vacation. Staff warm and welcoming. Restaurant very good.

I love this place for something to eat staff v friendly & bar area really relaxing with big sofas kids also made v welcome outdoor eating space really relaxing

Long established hotel in what had been a large old house in its own extensive grounds. It has been considerably extended but has plenty of parking. It also has its own golf course. There is a comfortable bar area serving pub grub and freshly made sandwiches.

Played golf there this morning. The course was in great shape concidering the rain we had lately. But unfortunately the player was rubbish. Nice day all the same.

What a beautiful place to stay no flaws what so ever highly recommended the place ,the scenery , the staff . The food was extradionary and I would definitely be back ... Very well maintained and spotless 100%

Stayed here twice in 2019 for weekend breaks.
Plus: Quiet, tranquil country setting. Comfortable rooms. Helpful, friendly reception staff. Excellent leisure facilities including an outdoor jacuzzi. Easy parking. Close to the Cooley Mountains for hiking. A very nice place to spend a day or two.
Negative: Bar food menu is dated and unexceptional as is the bar food itself. Service in the bar is disorganised and patchy. You dine here only because there are no other convenient options. Breakfast may have been acceptable for a 4 star hotel circa 2005 but in 2019 it s not. Poor selection of bread, no granola or muesli, very limited gluten free options, mini box Kellogg s cereals, instant coffee, orange juice from concentrate. WiFi in room 210 was weak; in room 120 it was useless. Some TV channels kept breaking up and were unwatchable.

Called in when the car broke down, good food and great service

Nice place. There was a busy wedding on it was pretty noisy. Breakfast was nice.

I didn't stay in the actual hotel but I was at a wedding. The hotel looks amazing , the grounds are beautifully looked after. At the wedding I was unable to get a cocktail which was disappointing . The price of a pint isn't for the faint hearted neither. 7 euro ! Get the vodka in the clutch bag save your self a few quid. If your into golf your in luck . The hotel is surrounded by a golf course from the looks of it half descent.

Beware the bitter middle aged golfers who voluntary shoot at hurt kid when we don't help them walk fast enought...

We stayed for the weekend and it was brilliant, the staff are amazing and everything was at it's highest standard, the food was delicious, and the grounds are outstanding, hosting a beautiful orchard, definitely worth a visit very relaxing...

Nice place but the manager could do with a bit of training in manners

We were here today for a few Christmas drinks with family, we moved a few chairs so we could all sit together. The waitress was extremely rude, and would not let us move, she challenged my husband when he asked if we could sit together. I understand there was a lot of us there, but her manner and the way she spoke to us was unacceptable, the manager was good and sorted the situation. We will not be returning here again, the waitress was totally out of order. It's a pity because it's a nice hotel

Food beautiful as always, however had to ask server to clean table and floor before we ordered food ! A little disappointing!

4 star hotel. Great food, nice hotel and clean swimming pool. Although it can be quite expensive.

The pool is only 20 metres but it is always kept clean. There is a hot tub, sauna, jacuzzi, plunge pool and steam room. In addition, it also has a gym which is pretty big.

The restaurant part is also very nice with a great selection of food. Though it can be a little expensive.

For anyone who likes golf, there is a huge golf course around the complex. Great day out.

Overall, really nice hotel and it wouldn't need much to turn into a 5 star hotel!

Beautiful food and terrific staff
Only issue was heat in the hotel rooms was overpowering. Beautiful sweeping driveway and a warm cosy atmosphere. I would love to see it at Christmas time.

Brilliant hotel, one you must visit even for tea and scones and a walk around the beautiful grounds.

Went here to attend a wedding and the place was amazing. The food was great, plenty of drink and a beautiful garden. Would definitely stay here again!

At a wedding here ,they really pull out all the stops. Excellent food, great staff , amazing surroundings. Really recommend this place. Had a fantastic day.

My favourite hotel. I ordered vegetable soup, roast beef, mash potatoes, vegetable and roast potatoes. Sherry trifle. Tea or coffee

Had the great bar lunch. The Staff of the Ballymascanlon wonderful as always.

First class Hotel, always enjoy the bar snacks here. Really good quality. Staff pleasant and courteous.
