Ballet Magnificat! Review

Ballet Magnificat! is an incredible company. Their performances shift the focus off of themselves into a worship session and praise for our King. Their summer dance intensive is an incredible experience. Not only do they train with phenomenal technique, they also encourage dancers to to truly worship God with everything they have been given. The company members are intentional and showcase God's unconditional love by asking for prayer requests after performances and pursuing the girls with questions and teachings during the workshop. It is obvious that they truly love the Lord. A BIG thank you to Ballet Magnificat! for all that you have done and are doing!!

I haven't any experience in this place [Ballet Magnificat] but I would like, I'm christian and I would learn many about of this beauty art!

Worshipful performances are absolutely amazing. You can truly experience the love for Christ through each performance. These dancers have chosen to give up self in order to magnify the Lord, which is why there is absolutely no better place for my young dancer to be educated in the art of dance! My daughter has had a wonderful experience two summers in a row at Ballet Magnificat! Summer Dance Intensive. The staff cares about the students and does a great job of not just providing quality dance instruction but also in mentoring them in their Christian walks. The discipleship aspect of the intensive is invaluable and unequaled at other summer dance intensives. We've never sent our children to camps. We homeschool so we interact with our children throughout the day. In spite of this, we felt comfortable with our daughter on the Belhaven Campus in the hands of Ballet Mag staff. When her hip was displaced, leading to sitting out of classes this year, they agreed to take her for a chiropractic appointment nearby. After attending other intensives, my daughter just wanted to return to Jackson for this one and wants to go again. We couldn't be more pleased.

Excellent, professional dancers, who share the gospel powerfully! Wonderful classes for students as well.

My son has been attending the Summer Dance Intensive (SDI) at Ballet Mag for four to five years, and he has grown both in his dance and spiritually because of it. The progress has been phenomenal. His sister has also attended the Intensive and is going back again. The camaraderie among the dancers is priceless. I have and will continue to heartily recommend both the SDI and any of the wonderful Ballet Magnificat performances to all those looking for quality dance instruction and a wonderful Christian focus.

My daughter attended the Summer Dance Intensive for the first time in 2018. She has made lifelong friends, has new "heroes" in many of the company dancers, and has seen how her faith and passion for dance can work together in the future. As a parent, I am beyond grateful for the confidence and instruction, spiritual and dance-based, that Ballet Magnificat! has provided her.

Wonderful!! Our girls loved every minute! The Gala was a beautiful worship service!

We attended the recent performance of The Scarlet Thread in Memphis. The ballet performance was beautiful and the dancers and costumes were just lovely.
However, I have to say that it was far far too long for me and my daughters. They do a 5-6 song performance BEFORE the actual play even starts. It needs to be eliminated. By the time it was over we were all half asleep. And at $20 each ticket, I didn t want to be left so tired. I would attend it again in the future if the price was $15 each and the performance was 1.25-1.5 hours in length max.

I went here this summer for the second year. The teachers are incredible and the dancers are all so sweet and supportive of each other no matter what. The counselors are the best and they will stay up and talk and pray with you all night if you need and they show God's love in a way that I had never really experienced before coming here. I loved the classes and all of the fun things we got to be a part of while there. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is desiring to grow both as a dancer and as a follower of Christ

This is a wonderful summer opportunity for Ballet dancers!

Oh my goodness. I went to the Summer Dance Intensive not knowing what to expect, just really nervous. I had heard things about other intensives that didn t sit well with me; class types, major dorm rule-breaking, validation as a dancer by having a certain body type, etc. But Ballet Mag excells in every way. The staff and teachers do their job for the good of the student, the students callings, and most importantly the glory of God. It amazes me how supportive they were. They paid close attention to and encouraged everyone, building up the students, while keeping the push to do your absolute best and excellent work theme. The company members are phenomenal. They encourage all of us in the Lord and they are so in love with God. They inspire me. Everyone who taught classes taught with excellence. I never got homesick and certainly didn t want to leave! God did so many life changing things in my heart, (I do not say that lightly) things I had been longing for and asking for and some things that I didn t even know I needed. The staff prayed over us, led us in worship, and encouraged us to worship. They gave us bible studies and scripure to support us spiritually in our battles and in knowing God more. We got to see them perform- it was worship. It resounded in my spirit and moved me to tears. It even moved my dad to tears! This company is phenomenal to watch and to attend in SDI. They are ligit in sharing the gospel. I am very thankful for God bringing this company into existence:) He is so good to let us know what He has done for us, and these people are some of the people He uses to get that message to many people of different places and cultures.

One of the best experiences of my daughter's life! She made wonderful friends, was challenged and encouraged in her faith as well as her dancing! Ballet Mag is a one of a kind SDI that will change your child's life! As a Christian family, I can't imagine sending her somewhere else!

I was a dancer at Ballet Mag for 9 years. I loved it. The teachers were and are amazing, I always felt like if I needed help they were there. I had pulled an attend in my ankle, and they were very caring, they called all the time to see how I was doing. I also made long time friends there.

My daughter has attended SDI for two consecutive years. This program has helped her to develop relationships throughout the country all while enforcing strong dance techniques and using her gifts for meaningful worship to to the Lord.

My daughter has enjoyed her last three summers at the dance intensive. Her experience at Ballet Mag has been incredibly rewarding on so many levels. I've also seen "The Hiding Place", which was beautiful and powerful. So blessed to be connected with this amazing ballet company.

The Staff of Ballet Magnificat were all wonderful. My daughter improved so much during here time at the summer intensive. She is already planning to return next summer!! She loved it.

This ministry is such a blessing around the globe and has been an important part of my daughters lives for 13 years, as each has been to 8 Summer Dance Intensives and both have had the opportunity to be part of the Trainee program. They grew so much as dancers each summer, as the training, technique, & choreography are exceptional!!

We LOVE BalletMag! It is not easy, and if you are looking for a school that is fun and games then you may want to look elsewhere. They are serious about the students learning classical ballet, they don t promote the students to the next level at the end of the year. They want what is best for the student and if that means repeating a class then that is what is done. The teachers are very encouraging and great Christian role models. They are taught modesty, and the school is strict on the ballet clothes that are worn. My daughter loves the classes, she is learning more than just ballet and that makes it worth all the time I spend driving her back and forth.

A wonderful combination of excellent teaching of the art and craft of ballet with the immersion of spiritual discipleship and encouragement. The presence of the love of God was very tangible.
