I just had my first surgery ever yesterday and I couldn't have been sent to a better place. From the nurse in the elevator that comforted me, the admissions clerk to the hospital staff I had an amazing experience. I was very scared and nervous and they did nothing but make sure I was comfortable and were very kind and patient. Nurse Nicola was very gentle and eased my nervousness. The Chief Anasthesiologist Dr. Eckhart was great. He told me that it was about to be "happy hour" lol and made sure all of my questions were answered. I was also out before they even put me on the operating table...lol. There is no better facility and medical professionals to trust your life with. May God bless them all.

I scheduled my procedure for 10AM with 8:30AM arrival. Bailey Square Surgery Center called me the day before saying that my procedure moved to 9:30AM and I need to be there by 8:00AM, I wasn t given a chance to say no, that doesn t work. I was told that I should be done by 10:30AM - 11:00AM. I changed my schedule to make it work and I was there at 8:00AM, checkin was fast, when I got to my room and changed into the gown, I was told that the surgeon is running behind.. I was left in the room freezing, hocked to the IV and my cell phone is out of my reach on the chair. After 1:30 hour, I buzzed the nurse asking for an eta, she said she ll check and she never came back. They ended up coming and taking me back at 10:00AM (the original time), I was back in my room by 10:40AM and again I was left alone for 40 min, the nurse came and asked if I need my pain meds and she said, I ll have to stay for 30min after I take the meds, I said OK, thinking she ll be back in a couple of minutes. She disappeared for 20 min, so when she came back with the meds around 11:45AM, I said I am done, I want to leave. Mind you, during all of this time, my husband had to wait in the car and wasn t allowed inside. Their lack of communication about the timelines ruined the day, he sat in his car for 4 hours, no bathroom or anything, thinking that I will be done any minute. They don t care, a courtesy call telling him that I am running behind, could ve made all the difference in the experience.

The entire staff at Bailey Square Surgery Center took great care of me and did everything they could to make me feel physically and emotionally comfortable, and then they provided follow up care. My procedure was painless and low stress for me due to their diligence and care, and I had a great experience. I highly recommend Bailey Square Surgery Center in Austin!

They had to reschedule everyone who was to be seen today because if technical issues. What a waste of time. Someone really dropped the ball. Huge disappointment. Lost a day of work and im guessing they dont worry about reimbursement. Makes me real uneasy about having to come back hear if equipment is a issue.

Surgical procedure this morning was exceptionally well-run by the clinical AND office staff. I dealt with 5 administrative staff prior to and upon arrival and all were helpful and thorough. Including reviewing all insurance info prior to my procedure (so I disagree with other reviewers who state overall the front staff are poor at service). I wish I could remember the names of all the staff I worked with, but I had NO anxiety while there. My ride received simple to understand but thorough instructions (both verbal and in writing). I hope I never have to go through surgery again, but if I do, this is the place I would do it.

The whole experience seemed chaotic. First we were called down to surgery - WITH 3 OTHER FAMILIES! We saw the rooms and centers that the others went in as we were last. It was a complete fail in terms of privacy for everyone who was placed prior to us - IMO. Once in our room the staff seemed very chaotic. The nurse talked constantly, like in an annoying way. Just give us some space, right? Ultimately the surgery went well, but based on my experience here I would ASSUME they have more issues than other places. If my ASSUMPTION is wrong, then they should train there staff to be more professional.

And no reasonable waiting area. I was stuck in the triage room for 2.5 hours. They wouldn't let me go see my wife in the post-op area. The room didn't have a door and I could hear much of the conversations that the staff was having with other patients. I could leave the area and come right back in, with no access restrictions - not safe. Not conducive to privacy.

Additonally, for good reason people aren't allowed to eat prior to surgery. They allowed these really rude people to bring in hamburgers and fries while they waited. And eat the food in the recovery area! It made my wife feel so hungry to constantly smell the food while she was trying to recover enough to leave and get lunch herself. SO RUDE!!! And the fact they allowed these people to eat lunch IN TRIAGE AREA is rude and unprofessional.

I choose to have my surgery at this center because I was told that I could choose to spend the night if I wanted to whereas the hospital, it would be up to them. I happened to be the only one who was on the floor that night so it was a very private, personal experience. I can not say enough about Stephanie and Edgar who were my overnight nurses, especially Stephanie! I felt seen, well taken care of and treated with kindness which is ESSENTIAL after having major surgery.

That all ended at 5:40am when the day shift arrived. It seemed I was an inconvenience to one particular nurse who basically seemed annoyed that my ride was picking me up at 7:45am, which was the time they not only told me I could get picked up but also the time I HAD PAID FOR. Bed side manner is everything when you re a nurse. Just saying. This review would ve been 5 stars but the AM nurse (feel free to reach out to me for her name).

I had surgery here 7 months ago and it was an amazing experience. Everyone was so caring and helpful. I am having another surgery in 2 weeks and cannot even think of any other place I would want to be.
