Hi guys. My husband and I went to the restaurant yesterday for Lunch. The set up is amazing however we both had food posioning. We where super sick with running tummy and vomitting. I did call the restaurant to inform them what had happen. The lady just took my number down along with the names of the meals we had and that's was it. She didn't even apologize. I called 2pm and it's now 9pm and no1 has even called me to apologize. Terrible service and yet out bill came to quite a bit.
Really expensive, nice ambiance but food was over-hyped.
This restaurant deserves the good reviews it receives. Our meals were delicious and the service perfect.
Over and over we were referred to Baia, and we were not disappointed. We both had kingclip, a local white fish, and it was delicious.
Serving superb food for years!
The Langostinos (SQ) and grilled calamari remain my personal favourites, but the baby kingklip is superb too.
Excellent wine list and great serive.
For a starter budget R80 - R120. For a main budget R200 - R450. For desert budget R80 - 120. For wine R200 - R350/bottle.
Really loved it, the food was amazing, the setting is beautiful . Although a waitress really spoiled the whole experience, constantly interrupting us, trying to sell us the most expensive dish on the menu, forgetting to bring things to the table we asked for. She brought the bill without us asking for it, and kept bugging us for payment. Really wasn't great.
One of the most fabulous seafood eateries in Cape Town. From the superb service to the exquisite cuisine it is an amazing experience all around. I particularly appreciated how willing they were to accommodate specific dietary requests. The main portion sizes are generous and flavour packed!
Having travelled across the world to experience this Cape Town icon , it has been one of the worst dining experiences ever. Service was slow, food was less than average and was lukewarm. To top this, two members of our party were sick overnight. For the money one pays, it is a shameful experience at best.
On Friday 10th Jan., 4 of us old friends decided we would have a splash out dinner together at Baia. It had been a long time since any of us had been there. But it was absolutely superb. The food was wonderful, our wine fanastic & best of all our waiter Tristan was attentive and delightful. Banter back & forth between us & him was very entertaining. If you want an excellent eveving in Cape Town, there is nowhere better.
Truly one of the best places in Cape Town to eat seafood. Albeit expensive, it is a journey in taste and incomparable in unrestricted dining. A must for a tourist who wishes to taste the best seafood in Cape Town.
Fantastic quisine, fast service, knowledgeable waiting staff.
Excellent. But you pay for that. If you have the budget it's a must visit restaurant.
Beautiful setting and views, such attentive service. Tempura prawn starter was great and the Norwegian salmon with a pumpkin seed crust was well prepared and tasty. A bit pricey but the view is outstanding.
What a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. If you're looking for the most exquisite seafood or just the best food in general you will not be disappointed. Baia is a regular on our places to visit.
Very good cuisine and very friendly, attentive service.
Good food, average service and expensive for what you get. Prefer Nobu over Baia.
Waiters interacted well with the family. The food was delicious, both starters and mains. The sashimi was really good
Been to this place once only and was impressed. The food was extremely good. Went there with work colleagues and enjoyed every minute. Loved the food and the service!
Food excellent... service excellent.... and best yet the views are exemplary... would recommend...
Excellent fresh fish restaurant and level of service level
Husbae and I dropped in here impromptu for supper and we were pleasantly surprised.
The seafood bisque was an amazing started. The portion size is super but once you taste it you will be grateful for the extra. The main meals are big enough to share. We had seafood their speciality dishes are divine. The atmosphere was lovely. It wasn't too full when we arrived and there was a great ambience.
For the price, it's tough to justify a good rating. Food was mediocre at best and the environment/atmosphere felt like an amateur attempt at sophistication. Baia was recommend to us by friends, but fell extremely short of expectations. I'd suggest steering clear of Baia.
Absolutely fantastic! The seafood was perfectly prepared and despite being in the center of a very busy tourist area the service was unhurried. Speaking of service it was fascinating to watch as the staff operated like a well-tuned watch, always on the go and moving with incredible precision.
Service couldn't be slower and clueless. No idea what garlic mayo is, and no idea how to handle a customer request. Food was good though.
Absolutely love the seafood at this place. Ate there twice in 2 days!
An excellent fish restaurant. Why not Baia when you are in Cape Town.
Food is delicious. They're known for platters (e.g shellfish platter). All my colleagues and I had delicious meals. Don't be turned off by the over 50 crowd and families, the food is great.
Beautiful views. Fantastic service. Delicious and unique vegetarian options.
Best, absolutely the best seafood restaurant in South africa! A must! Totally worth it!!!
Why have cocktails on the menu if you don't know how to make it,worst mojito ever!Cutlery needs upgrading too
Were very excited about this one, but was not that special. Table was nice with a nice view. Service was VERY SLOW. When food finally came after 1.5 hrs, was not up to expectations. Must say though, expectations here in CT are high. So this place in isolation is very good, but the bar is so high in this beautiful city.
A tourist trap with highly inflated food and wine prices. There is much better value for money elsewhere amongst the almost 1000 restaurants in Cape Town. At times we had to cope with a terrible smell of rotten fish - hopefully from the harbour below.
Had a wonderful dinner. Great service and everything was delicious.
Deception!!!! It is much better at the Fish Market even of it looks more simple.
Good sea food. However, as everywhere close, you pay tourist prices.

Best place for seafood platters da best with great wine
This is not the place to go if you are on a budget but the food is worth all the money. After looking at the menu for more than 10 minutes because there was so much I wanted to try, I decided to settle on yellow fin tuna served with baby potatoes. It was delicious. The service was great and the manager is a very friendly. There is nothing I would complain about except for the fact that it s way too big for me. You can t really have a cosy meal and tables are a bit close together. This is why I avoid restaurants at a mall. They are always way too busy. Would go back again with a couple of friends not dinner for two.
For the ultimate seafood experience with views over the Waterfront Harbour and Table Mountain
