Chill, friendly place. Good background music at just the right volume. Plenty of seating, power outlets. Right across from DMC.

Good seating. Reasonable prices. Muffins and croissants available. Nice atmosphere.
I love the lavender latte, I just wish they offered some less foodie options for things to eat.
Good coffee and the beer selection looked good too. Ambiance was hip without being pretentious.
It s crazy to think that in 2019 a black man can t sit at a coffee shop and be serviced like the loyal customer that I am. This morning I went to Great Lakes Roast Coffee in Detroit, Michigan. Upon sitting at the coffee bar for about 5-7 minutes I watched as countless staff serviced other customers around me. Not once did someone acknowledge me, offer a menu, or even simply say good morning. Disheartened, I asked to speak to a manager about my awful experience. I was told there was no manager on site and basically dismissed. I never received an apology or anything. Needless to say, I won t be coming back and I strongly advise people of color to not spend their money at this establishment.
Great service and coffee, we got cappuccinos, was there last night with my husband
There were fruit flys buzzing around my breakfast sandwich!
Really like the atmosphere of this place I love the fact it a coffe and wine place. Nice place to kick back and relax with friends or study they also have great customer service
Overpriced for coffee that is overhyped. Roasting plant is much better
This is a really quaint place for a coffee. College town feel.
Nice place for a beer, coffee or tea. Live music at times is nice too.
Good coffee, delicious croissant, and good safety protocols
Excellent coffee and coffee skills. Come watch the hardcore hipsters of Detroit Hangout
Awesome place! Great staff... Great drinks... Go check it out!
I'll preface this by saying I only go for trivia nights (not a coffee drinker). Solid trivia night every other Wednesday at 8PM. Great prizes, good drink specials. Michigan and other good micro brews on draught. Quality ambience and service.
The coffee and location are very good, I recommend the espresso which is my favorite. Simple but when the coffee is good it doesn't take much
I'm leaving this review mainly for the bathroom, although the coffee was delicious. I was simply blown away by the decor and overall ambience of the bathroom. Exposed brick, murals, excellent soap.
Love this coffee shop, always great service and the coffee is on point!
Favorite coffee shop in Midtown. Open late so you can grab a drink before or after a show/game. Good coffee and chill vibe.
Overpriced, cookies taste like they're from superstore.
I've been here many times. The coffee is bizarre but, delicious! I love the Sexy Mexican! Very Spicy and creamy. I am very glad that they have a wide selection of vegan food and snacks. I think the inside is great and the selection of art is great.
Great place to get stuff done on a fair trade caffeine high.
Great place price reasonable coffee above average atmosphere great. Cool kids
Complementary mineral water with their delicious espresso. Bring headphones or run the risk of listening to many "hip" conversations.
Highly recommend, excellent coffee and service and follows all executive orders.
Very "chill" atmosphere. Great customer service. I will DEFINITELY be back.
My business partner & I stopped here earlier today on our way to the airport after a weekend trip to London Ontario. We ve been to several roasters across the USA & this was one of the coolest vibes I ve seen. They offer coffee, beer & wine. There is a cool chalk board displaying their bean sourcing. Definitely a cool spot to set up a laptop. I watched an artist sketching a self portrait as I enjoyed avocado toast & a nitro cold brew. A must-visit for a coffee enthusiast visiting the Detroit area.
Awesome atmosphere! Comfy environment, great menu, cool graphic design and marketing, free wifi! I could spend all day in here!
The mocha I ordered was delicious and so was the almond crossant. Wish I had brought my laptop it was perfect in there.
Very cool shop, nice interior, plenty of cool special drinks and pour over coffee available. Would visit again
Awesome place, fantastic coffee, great beer (& wine available), the chillest music, and friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommend.
Unbelievably overpriced. The "pour over" method is a gimmick. It's simply non automated drip. 4 dollars for a mug of this is ridiculous.
It gets three stars for all the outlets. The coffee is nothing special (other than the impact it made on my wallet).
I'm not a big coffee drinker so I love that I can meet my friends for coffee and have a glass of champagne while they drink their coffee. There aren't too many outlets so it's not 100% the best for long term working.
Beautiful space. Lots of choice for food and drink. Coffee was pretty good, but could have been prepared slightly differently to achieve a better overall cup. Would definitely go back.
This place has it all. Great coffee, beer, wine, and light food. The perfect place to hangout.
Great coffe and more. Frindlt staff graet service better than Starbucks
This place is great! Fantastic coffee, but it's also a great place to hangout. They have beer and food too.
Great place to get coffee in midtown. Fast, friendly service. Outdoor seating area. Offers both vegan and vegetarian eats.
Love this place! I always enjoy the featured artists. They're always on trend with their drinks and they have good food.
I like the nice kick of their coffee... even with the capuchino you can feel the espresso pumping you up. Service is good. I like they only have one size, keep it simple tried the macaroons, they are not too sweet.
super trendy, good coffee, not too expensive, bring your skinny jeans+vintage clothing.
Coffee taste good, casual environment full of campus life, is a place where you can relax.
An awesome space with gentrified atmosphere. Rustic brick, refurbished scrap wood and exposed ducts. Espresso was good and reasonably priced. They offered two bean varieties, a single origin Costa Rican and a Hybrid. Both come as a shot or in 3-5-8oz steamed milk options. The batista was friendly and knowledge about the product and pulled a mean shot. I didn't try any of the food but a number of the items sounded good including a Vegan Banh Mi. In addition to coffee they have a wide selection of craft beer and wine.
Really love this place. Most of the coffee places don't have a vibe of a legit coffeehouse, this one has a great variety of coffee for all the coffee lover out there! My personal suggestion would be spicy mocha with a cayenne pepper, very delicious! Oh and they also have true and legit macaroons, as they must be. Good spot!
Spacious, friendly, innovative, tasty, trendy, and comfortable. Great music, great selection of coffee and tea drinks along with homemade concoctions and beer. The chai latte with almond is the perfect blend of spice and creaminess. The mocha is equally balanced. Neither is overly sweet. The barista bangs them out with precision.
Great bar, great staff, great food, great atmosphere.
Honestly, what's not to love?
Excellent roaster and a great place to hang out. Their coffee is one of the best I've ever had.
Great Lakes is a fantastic spot for a rich pour over coffee, small plates, as well as beer and wine. There are always students studying here and professionals holding meetings. It s a warm space with the hardwood floors and exposed brick. People are often using their laptops and there are quite a few wall outlets available if you plan on staying long.
the best nitro I ve ever found !! one of the best avocado toasts I ve ever scarfed down also the best barista on the Cassidy! but honestly everyone here is amazing. My boyfriend and I are are diehards and love the atmosphere here. He also loves the muffins. I have the Mackinaw blend at home and that might be my favorite at home coffee. Honestly I ve tried so many places on road trips and adventures and this is my go to!
Try the 50/50. And no, that doesn't mean what longtime Cass Corridor residents may initially think. It's a drink you perv.
The baristas were great and the coffee was some of the best I've ever had (I like plain black coffee). Also good price for the quality. Had a blueberry muffin here as well and it was delicious!
i should have took a photo of the food but it was too good to interrupt. i think i might become a regular. prices were appropriate. feels like a place in charlotte that i enjoyed visiting.
Friendly staff, great drinks and snacks, and pleasant atmosphere. Finding nearby parking can be tough.
Pretentious place and prices but delicious coffee and good beer selections.
The coffee was excellent and the guy at the counter was friendly and funny. Two black coffees cost me $10.40 so it's a little pricey but it was worth it!
