We first contacted Backcountry in May. It's now late July. They were not the lowest of the several bids we received, but we wanted to do business with a local company. They were no-shows for five separate appointments. They failed to complete the job. Worst of all, when we raised issues with them -- after being patient for weeks -- they went on the attack and lied about everything. My favorite of these lies was when the owner told me that unseen raccoons must have "stolen and put in trees" four external bait stations. The truth is that he never installed them. This business is struggling with a lack of staff and professionalism. We were extremely patient, but after two months, our patience ran out. We submitted the matter to American Express and, after reviewing the evidence, they agreed with us and refunded our money.
