Bought the highlander set for my birthday didnt work so was sent back though place of purchase 4 months later still not got it back. Disgusting service noone can give me an answer. Always chasing them. Partner went on Twitter and spoke to Bachmann USA who assured us we would be getting a call from Richard proudman!!!! Still nothing!!!!! He told Bachmann USA he had contacted us so hes clearly a liar. Avoid this company absolute disgrace NO customer service at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I built an oo gauge layout, 40ft x 11ft. I run mostly Bachmann stock. Within the last year, I have experienced extremely poor build quality from your products. For example, the Fairburn tank loco just would not run, the same situation with the class 43 Warship. My local model shop had to return a number of the new class 43 Warships, before I got one that worked. However the exterior lights did not work!!!!!. At approx. 200 Euro per loco, it does not make sense to continue to purchase your inferior products. I therefore, request that you advise me of any of your competitors, who produce a quality product. Please do not recommend Hornby, as they are equally as bad as Bachmann
Bought a new class 42, loco runs fine but as a very well experienced loco detailer and kit builder this kit is one of the worst I have worked on. First problem is the front apron panel which is so tight to fit you run the risk of breaking the apron or some part of the bogie to get it to fit. Next problem ,try to remove one of the bogies so you can get to the screw to remove one of the couplings, I gave up, Next problem, fit the hose supplied in the centre of the front apron and you can not fit the screw coupling. There has been no thought in the production of the this loco and I would like to see one of these loco,s fully detailed by the manufacturer. Would I buy another Bachmann loco, YES, but never another class 42. Les Wiggett. Worcestershire.
I worked for Bachmann for a month, I really loved the people I was working with. Service Dept ran on minimal repairs staff though. Jenni was the best manager I've ever worked for...
I was hoping to be taken on full time after a 3 month trial.....but the agency I was with (HSL Nuneaton) got rid of me because of Covid-19, and said Bachmann didn't want me either ???.
As a model maker myself, yes...quality of items could be better......but from the service side, some of the shop returns from customers were a joke. The guys on repairs were constantly having to speak to customers on the phone....thus stopping them from getting more repairs done in a day....some customers were very rude.
It saddens me that my time there came to an end.....but it was out of my hands, I'd happily work for them again given the chance.
