Great place! Carolin explained all about the different wines, the family heritage and any other questions I had.

Unfortunately I could not purchase any of the fine wine due to the upcoming flight home. Still 5/5

Top notch, friendly customer service, complimentary tasting of the wines and then you select a bottle or 2 to drink with cheese and look out over the vineyards with the birds chirping. Very informative tasting also. Not many customers on this Saturday unfortunately with no tourists and few locals realising that they are missing out! Come support

Indeed a lovely place. On a quiet Saturday morning we were greeted by the matriarch of the family (didn't get her name) who was tending to the Cellar Door. For the better part of an hour we tasted all of the wines offered as well as a few that were not on the tasting list. There were 8 wines for tasting across a wide range of reds and whites. The wine quality is generally very good to excellent. There are tables and chairs as well as picnic tables near the car park.

Note that the only food offered is a cheese plate.

About Babich Wines Ltd

Babich Wines Ltd: The Oldest Family-Owned Winemaking Company in New Zealand

Babich Wines Ltd is a family-owned winemaking company that has been producing and supplying the best wines from New Zealand to the world for over 100 years. Established in 1916 by Croatian immigrant Josip Babich, the company has grown to become one of the leading wine brands in New Zealand.

The Babich family's passion for winemaking began when Josip planted his first vineyard in Henderson Valley, Auckland. Since then, the family has continued to produce award-winning wines using traditional winemaking techniques combined with modern technology.

Today, Babich Wines Ltd is run by Joe Babich, who is the third generation of his family to be involved in the business. Under his leadership, the company has expanded its vineyards across Marlborough and Hawke's Bay regions and produces a wide range of varietals including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot.

What sets Babich Wines apart from other wineries is their commitment to sustainability. They have implemented sustainable practices across all aspects of their business including vineyard management, packaging and distribution. This commitment has earned them numerous awards including Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand certification.

Babich Wines' dedication to quality can be seen through their numerous accolades over the years. They have won multiple awards at prestigious wine competitions such as Decanter World Wine Awards and International Wine Challenge.

Their flagship wine - Irongate - is a testament to their commitment towards excellence. It is made from grapes grown on some of their oldest vines which are carefully tended by hand throughout each season before being harvested at optimal ripeness.

Apart from producing exceptional wines, Babich Wines also offers visitors an opportunity to experience their vineyards through guided tours and tastings at both Auckland Cellar Door & Restaurant as well as Marlborough Cellar Door & Restaurant locations.

In conclusion, if you're looking for high-quality wines that are sustainably produced with a rich history behind them then look no further than Babich Wines Ltd. Their dedication towards excellence combined with traditional winemaking techniques make them one of New Zealand's leading wine brands today!
