I noticed another review that said something along the lines of "only worth it if you have time on your hands" I certainly did, so made a point of making my way there immediatly. I disagree with that summary, i think that this is well worth a visit and would consider a 'must visit' for anyone with more than a day in the Hague. Though not a huge attraction compared to others available, the perspective and scale of this panorama, particularly in its historical context is stunning. It literally gives a view of how Scheveningen and The Hague came to be.
Beyond all that, the artistry and light of the panorama itself I found quite enchanting.

It is a museum where there is a 360 degree painting of a beach. It is very successful because it respects perspective. It is as if you were in a viewpoint above.

Impressive, but in 45 minutes you have seen it all in Panorama Mesdag. Of course there is also the Mesdag museum, but that is 200m further down the laan v Meerdevoort.

Mesdag was the painter from The Hague School who had chosen the sea as a favorite, but also a good businessman and maecenas for this The Hague painterly group.

Incredibly beautiful and impressive, that is what it is painted. It is NOT as if you were looking at a REAL beach in the last century (staring). It was really overwhelming.

A must see if you visit the Netherlands. More than amazing!

Beautiful panorama painting, definitely worth a visit.

Great museum that you shouldn't miss if you're arriving in Den Haag. All the paintings are by the same painter and following the theme of the views of Den Haag in the early days. This is a must for ship lovers

Don't miss out on The Hague. Beautiful panorama spectacle from an (imaginary) dune in Scheveningen at the time of Mesdag. Is slightly outside the center of The Hague, but is certainly within half an hour's walk from, for example, the Mauritshuis or other museums. Maps help you with this. In addition to the panorama, many paintings can also be seen.

magnificent scenery of some 100 years ago painted on a more than 200 meters wide canvas. must see when visiting the Hague. also visit modern Scheveningen, find the spot in which Mesdag stood while devising his panorama. yes it has changed... a lot!

Worth a visit! How much work the couple put into their paintings, it's pure love and passion! And the panorama painting is amazing.

Visit Panorama Mesdag with a guide, it doesn't cost much with a small group. You will receive a detailed explanation and a look below for the canvas. Definitely a must.

Beautifully restored panorama. The entrance fee is on the high side.

A unique experience. It surprises you that at the time people could create such an experience as if you were really standing on a dune and could look around you in 3D ...

Impressive! Come in the morning shortly after opening for the maximum effect. Immediately go through to the panorama ... ahh, what a view! The rest of the museum is also interesting.

Impressive panorama and with children the treasure hunt ( 0.50) is a must to have the time to take a good look at the panorama.

The explanations given in English (in audio) in the first rooms, pre-entry panorama, are interesting and prepare for the big painting.
In the panorama you can hear the explanation in Hebrew through the audio.

This is one of the top attractions in The Hague. Beautiful this panorama painting of the village of Scheveningen around 1900. Via a small wooden staircase you come to a sort of viewpoint with a view of the panorama. Really beautiful and worth a detour.

Spectacular! A hidden gem that does not seem to be known to everyone.

It is an incredible optical illusion. Highly recommended to attend because a camera does not capture that magic. It is a real art!

It was so interesting to discover this unusual type of attraction. It doesn't require a lot of time, but I am sure you've never seen an art installation like this before. Very well maintained, and the supporting exhibitions are interesting too. Take the time to include this in your touring itinerary.

We had never been here before. Actually not to imagine. Every Dutch person must actually go there once. I was really surprised and impressed. The performance about storm was also nice to go to. That too was impressive.
