Excellent and fairly new facility. Great staff. My Dad has been here for a few years and he loves it. They take great care of him and he is very happy.
I don't know the facility but know people who work here, and impressed at how well they're treated. When even the lowliest employees get cared for and respected and treated like family, that's a great indicator for the kind of environment and care that residents are likely to enjoy as well.
The most amazing facility! Exceptional staff!! Hands down the best place I've ever worked. Clean and comfortable, feels more like a home and not like a hospital. The veterans are the #1 priority without question. The administration does an exceptional job of making sure the veterans have what they need and want as well as making sure the staff has the supplies they need. The staff is one big family that genuinely care for each resident. The teamwork that happens in that building is second to none!!
The CNA's and nurses took very good care of my father while he was there. We were always welcome to stay and take part of all the activities to maintain a family life with him.
The folks at the veterans home are as sweet and caring as can be. I can't say enough about how kind and generous they are towards the veterans in their care. I know it's common to thank a veteran, but please take the time to thank a care worker when you get the chance. They're the ones making the lives of Veterans better everyday through love, hard work, and personal sacrifice.
This is the most Amazing and Wonderful Place to work. I ve been working here going on 9 years. Taking care of our Veterans and Staff is an Amazing Privilege.
I love working here with my coworkers and residents!
Our mother was cared for at this facility for 34 days. The care by all staff members was above and beyond our hopes. They truly care about the residents and their families!!! Very clean, no smelly odors, the staff is professional kind, caring, friendly and professional. 24/7 nursing staff, Lot's of activities, Therapy dog visits and church services for several denominations are available. The rooms are spacious, food menu selection is outstanding! We are blessed to have been able to use this facility.
Our mother has been in the dementia area for the past 10 months. She is being well cared for and loves the staff. We appreciate you all!
This is the best facility to work for. It's a great team of people who dedicate their days to taking the best care of veterans. Expectations are set high, and the team delivers, time and time again. Excellent surveys, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and CMS 5-star rating. Work here...or live here...you will be happy that you did!
They are an extremely neglectful home the CNAs do not take care of the residents and the employees are hostile. Would never put someone i love here.
Best one I've been to yet. Professional, courteous, & caring.

Absolutely amazing in every aspect ! They show such compassion and love towards their patients and the family members.. My dad absolutely loves it and it is BY FAR the best place for veterans! I highly recommend it!
Don't put your loved ones here. It's taken me a year to write this review because I was so astonished at the poor care. When this facility initially opened I was very impressed, I had toured many places before thinking this was the correct place for my father. After going through 3 extremely inadequate social workers I realized we were on a sinking ship. When I moved my father out I was appalled at the filth of his bedding. He was covered in wounds from falling that staff was told not to tell me about (I recieved text messages with images of his wounds). The food is very oversalted and the staff is filled with animosity towards the managerial staff. Look at Medicare reviews of facilities before you place a loved one in a home. The neglect is unreal at the Ogden Veterans Home. They ought to be ashamed as they cash their checks. 0 stars.
They take excellent care of our country's unsung heros.
I love working here. It is one big family. It is a beautiful place.
I was just there, and Lori is so friendly and is there to help any veteran who is in need of some assistance. I've met many staff members, and they are all so friendly. What a great person this building is named after!
Good care by great people here. This VA care center is constructed of excellent materials. Lots of thought went into the design and layout of this awesome facility.
The Veterans here are very awesome and I am honored to be able to work with them.
I love working at this facility. The staff is amazing! Everyone has the attitude of caring for our wonderful Vets!
I can't comment on the facility, but I called to find out about visiting a friend. The phone tree is HORRIBLE!! The first option is for admissions, the rest of the options... which seems to go on forever, is to reach individual nursing stations... very frustrating and of no help whatsoever in finding out visiting hours or the room number of a patient.
I then pressed "0" which rang once, only to be answered and immediately sent back to the call tree where the phone rang endlessly with no answer.
2 subsequent calls produced the same results.
What a wonderful facility in Weber County for our Servicemen who deserve and have more than earned proper care in their twilight years. They have earned our respect.
My Pop's has been a resident of George Wahlen for 3 years. The staff has treated him so well. I never have to worry about my father's care. He just turned 72, and I belive he'll be a resident the George Wahlen for many more. I couldn't be more grateful that my father has such wonderful people watching put for him. Thank you!
I have been in the healthcare field for 15+ years and this community is the best place to work hands down. The focus is serving our veterans, and you could never ask for a better place to be.
I have resided at this facility for over three years. I do not have any complaints about the outstanding personnel who work here. Both the medical staff and the administrative staff is filled with professionals who seem to enjoy working for and with the older veterans and their spouses. The facility is kept cleaner than most hotels I have stayed in while in the service. The food is excellent for the most part, but is sometimes lacking in seasoning which is to be expected in a large group. I would highly recommend this facility to any eligible veteran or spouse.
I visit the George E Wahlen Veterans Home once a year to gift Girl Scout cookies to each of the Veterans. I'm always struck by the depth and quality of the care and compassion the staff shows to the residents. Thank you both, Veterans and Caregivers.
They care about their Veterans and employees more than anything
CNA's busy talking, room lights going off not being answered, Staff fighting with each other I would never put my father in this home!
Love this place!! Great place to work!! The staff here take great care of each resident like they are family.
Hands down the best nursing home in Utah. The building is clean and smells good. The staff and volunteers work hard to provide the best care possible.
Wonderful staff and care. My dad has improved since he came here.
The Blue Clinic had seen me for almost two years for multiple chronic injuries and medical conditions. the staff (mainly the doctors) were completely robotic and could care less about their patients. I have had multiple conversations with the nurses there that had a lot to say about how horrible of a hospital it is not just working conditions but overall condition of the facilities and the caregivers, it seems like all the doctors were forced to work there or had no other options. being a retired and disabled veteran you would think they would appreciate who they supposedly care for but this is not the case. I changed to a regular primary care physician and I've never felt better it took about a two weeks for my new primary care doctor to diagnose and fix everything that had been plaguing me for years. he had tests done that evaluated and treated my conditions quickly and efficiently. that says a lot about the staff at the VA.
This facility is amazing. It s extremely clean and full of great staff. The residents are happy, have so many activities, great meal choices and so much more.
The staff makes the building an extra 5 stars. Especially this one
Reese!!!!! :) She is amazing soul, caregiver, and mood changer. She is also very upbeat, and keeps the residents smiling and happy. The Carr she is gives goes above and beyond.
Thank you for being such amazing people
The Utah Elks Association takes a birthday cake to the George E. Wallace Veterans Home for their birthday bash each It is generally on the 3rd Friday of each month at 3:30. Usually they have some local entertainment for the veterans also .. come out and see this is a wonderful experience.
This is an amazing nursing home. I truly believe the residents enjoy living here!
I Love working Here!! One of my favorite places I have ever worked !
