Food was great (Avalanche Burger) and service was way better than expected. Would definitely come back.

Average food, not up to Crested Butte standards. Management not accommodating regarding separate checks. Both my ski group and mountain biking group have moved our regular visits to other restaurants.

Really fun place for watching a game, or just grabbing a quick lunch between lift rides.

Visited during the labor day weekend holiday. Was a little worried about eating on site at the resort/bike park because most places seek to have boxed foods that mimic store bought ingredients. Not Avalanche!

The ordering process was a little different but I really liked it. We entered, watched a bit of football. Perused the menu that also happened to be written on the walls (everyone i tell thinks this is so cool) then when you're ready just hop over to the counter.

I had the Patty melt and it was great. Cooked more as a burger not flat meat, but was very good and cooked as requested. The fries were great as well. Not too well done and salted/seasoned perfectly.

The setup was really what stood out. You walk in and think hmm I'll just sit wherever and it's fine because there are televisions everywhere. The menu is in so many places including the walls it's pretty easy to order and from.what I tasted I'm sure you can't really go wrong.

And last but certainly not least, the side options are french fries and WATERMELON. If nothing else had me sold the freaking watermelon got me. Name one other place that has watermelon on tap as a side item.... Exactly. Go ride your bike, send it etc, then give these guys a visit.

This place sucks, overpriced and service is awful. Everyone thinks this place is great because of the location, but don t waste your time! Other bars and food places are much better and friendlier. Atmosphere is very below average and most beers cost upwards of 6 dollars. Save your time and enjoy crested butte in another way.

Foods ok. Long wait, but beats cooking after a hard day on the slopes.

BEST hamburgers served by the nicest people!! Awesome outdoor dining to people watch with the mountains in the background. We always eat here at least once on our visits to Mt Crested Butte. Enjoy!!

I did not try their food but when we were seated we were forgot about maybe because we were only getting drink?

Best reasonably priced food on the Mountain. Friendly service. Great bar scene. Lots of TVs for sports.

The food was poor. We ordered wings extra crispy and they arrived almost slimy they were so under done. I ordered a cherry vodka and soda with no grenadine as I'm diabetic and didn't want the added sugar. It arrived sweetened with something. I asked for a straw, but out of luck again. No straws available. The final blow was the waitress was definately uninterested in waiting on us. She served us then dissappeared. We have been there before when the food and service was outstanding. Not tonight. We won't be back.

Decent Bar & Restaurant located close to the lifts. Came here after a day of skiing. 3-6 happy hour is WEAK. $1 off beers, Wells and wine... Nothing to write home about. Staff is not very friendly and service just ok. Decent menu selection of apps, sandwiches, and pub food. I would maybe go back.

Got the skiers to take a lunch break. I had the clam chowder. Nice warm up to my tummy

Good burger but don't order from the bar to go unless you want to get a cold burger because the bartender will spend 10 minutes pouring drinks instead of running your card while your burger just sits there and goes cold.

Food was ok, service was slow in addition to overcharging. Check your bill, the staff are too busy socializing to check the accuracy of your bill and order. I wonder what they do when it's busy.

Go in for a Painkiller or the Avalanche Warning! Great staff, delicious food!

Not too pleased, for all the wonderful restaurants and options in Crested Butte this one is a dud for me. My well done burger that I got to go was very pink and my side of fresh fruit, instead of French fries that was $2 extra was a few orange slices. Not worth $16.50 to me.

Sorry guys, you were very nice, like most everyone here in CB, but dinner was a disappoint.

Great food! I think our family ate here about 4 different time while on our ski trip. It was near our hotel and the ski resort. The food and service was always good. We had many different items off of the menu and all meals were good.

My family and I went for 2 days to the restaurant and it was amazing. The waiter Brandon and (the tall waiter with gages) gave us amazing service and the food was awesome. Unfortunately we went there for our last evening in Colorado today (March 13th, evening) and the service was horrible, the food took forever and when I requested the manager to come over she was a literal b****. I never had such a bad experience with a manager of a restaurant before. I wish people like the waiters we had before who care for the customers were the ones leading places where people trying to have a good experience.

The best burgers on the mountain... Eating here will not make you take out a mortgage on your home. The food is great... Prices are awesome... Service is great.. Drinks are better! I can not wait for my ski trip every year just so I can eat at the avalanche!

This is my favorite spot in Crested Butte for Apres ski.

One of my favorite places to eat on the mountain. Beware of service during very busy times of the year though.

Best Caesar salad I ve ever had! Great Guacamole, steak sandwich was tender and savory! Pot stickers were good, fries and the dipping sauce were fantastic! Tomato Crab bisque was hugely successful, perfect refresh from morning slope runs! Fish and chips was also great! So good and filling was about too much to take an afternoon slope run, highly suggest a nap before doing so.

Great spot if you don't want to go to town. Great family food and desserts for the kids.

Always a local favorite for good. Average meal is between $8 and $15. The Italian wrap is my favorite!! Convenient location.

Great drinks, better food! Ask for the Avi warning and check out their wonderful selection of mimosa themed drinks. Their burger selection is beyond par and you can get it custom made such that yout can even get a croissant as your bun instead of the traditional buns which I personally feel takes it to a new level.

Avoid the pizza. Cheap dough and toppings! Not good at all. Try elsewhere like Woodstone at Grand Lodge which has a wood oven and gourmet toppings like sopressata and salami.

Do not order the Caesar salad, you will be very disappointed. Very poor value.

Sat in the "corner of convicts". Good food, good service and decent prices for a ski base. Burger was done perfectly, fish and chips were good. Good beer selection.

Avalanche was recommended to me by my ski instructor. He was spot on. Both times I went for lunch I had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table. Your whole party has to be there otherwise they won't seat you.
The first time I ordered the potstickers and sweet potato waffle fries. The fried potstickers were okay, but the sweet potato waffle fries were awesome. You could taste the truffle oil and the creamy dipping sauce was a nice touch. Prices were reasonable and service was quick. The second day I ordered chili and sat in the back by the fire pit.
I recommend Avalanche over other restaurants by the base.

My wife and I went to Crested Butte for a getaway vacation from Denver. We had hoped for a good dinner to top off our time in the mountains. Fate had other plans. We went to this restaurant on our last night and shame and sadness ensued upon our departure. When you enter the restaurant you are greeted by a large staircase. At top of said staircase you find several servers with no intention of actually greeting you. Instead you walk blindly into the restaurant until Jennifer and Jane (names changed) stop chatting to ask you "what they can do for you." This gives me pause, as it is a restaurant, so I kindly reply, "dinner". The prime rib "special" came out mooing. I anticipated our server to check that everything came out alright from the kitchen, which did not happen. I finally flagged a server who came over and took care of the cow situation. OUR server, I believe her name was Rachel Shnozman, finally came over and I requested a 90 shilling draft (simple request). After five minutes of seeing my beer from afar at the bar waiting (and warming) for delivery pickup, I finally went over and got it myself. EPIC WAITRESS FAILURE. I fully expect bad service at Taco Bell as well as impending diarrhea and cramps. However, at a restaurant in the premier ski resort town, I expected higher levels of service and satisfaction. Instead I have a sour taste for Crested Butte and a sour stomach. I highly recommend all snobby rich people with taste to avoid this place. Spend you daddy's money somewhere better.

Great variety of food. Good quality. Bar has a nice atmosphere.

The place was crowded in the bar area, it was after the lifts closed. A waitress was being curt getting through the people. Once sitting by the fire once others moved I was searching for a hotel and someone bussed the table next to me and took my 2/3 full beer glass. I payed full price for two beers during happy hour not sure if they give a discount on beer, that wasn't upsetting. The removing my beer sitting next to me and not asking if it was mine and the waitress that seemed to be upset her place of business was packed and she felt too busy to acknowledge those she may serve. It's ironic there is a sign by the bar reads "Be nice or leave." I left because I was not going to be nice. I will not return to the Avalanche Bar & Grill. My first bad encounter of any sort of right the numerous times I've been to CB.

Delicious. Fire bar is a little hard to eat at but great medium rare burgers.

Great place for dinner or lunch on the mountain. Also great apres stop for ski snacks and cocktails. Reasonably priced and casual.

Nice place in the base area. Nachos were perfect for 2 people.
Funny back room with all the criminal jerseys hanging on the wall.

The servers here are condescendingly rude and the management is not any better. For starters, when asking our server, Ellen, what the soup of the day was, she said We re out.
Ellen also later came to take orders and I asked to order a drink later, and she never returned, so I had to wait to order my drinks after my entree came out. When I asked for a specific drink she responded We don t have any and didn t even apologize.
The check came out looking like a 3 year old wrote all over it, making it impossible for my party to know how much everything was, so we could split the check. Ellen and a manager said that this establishment does not do that, ridiculous.
Manager was also condescending and when asked if they offer a military discount, she agreed. She later came back and said I m only able to do this because it s slow, if it was busy I probably wouldn t be able to, just so you know.
Wrong answer, since square one. This establishment was horrible, rude, disrespectful, and full of pathetic excuses. Also their loaded potatoes were the smallest ones I have ever seen.
I would definitely never recommend such an unprofessional place to spend money at. When a manager states they only have time to do the right thing because it s slow right now is when someone needs to rethink how a place is managed.

Nothing good to write unfortunately. Mediocre food, except for the pizza which is worse. It reminded me of a frozen pizza from 7/11. The wait/kitchen service gets a C+. Polite enough, but slow and it wasnt even busy.

We ordered carry-out. It was ready on-time and very good. BYO Chicken sandwich and a Canadian bacon/pineapple pizza. Yum!

A great apres spot, probably the best bar up at CBMR to get a quick bite, full dinner or party!

Great after ski bar and grill. Simple menu and excellent food. Great prices on happy hour drink specials. Worthy stop after a great day of skiing. One of the last hold outs from the Vail switch over.

I liked the cheeseburger I had. My wife had a fish entree but wasn't crazy about it.

Food was decent, but they do not have a computer system for your orders, so if you're in a group and separate paying, prepare for a pain of calculating and adding up what everyone got. Super pain in the butt. Not returning.

Awesome staff and great prices considering their location.
