I was a member of this y since it opened.i paid somewhere around 900 dollars a year for a family membership.I was glad to pay the dues, even though it was quite a bit higher than other ymca fees, but they did give opportunities to kids and other members of the community that couldn't afford the cost.my problem is I paid all those dues for all those years, but when I retire and become eligible for silver sneakers, all I get is sorry,we dont participate with silver sneakers. Why are you the only y that doesn't? It seems very unfair to me that you turn your back on members who supported you from the beginning.

I am a past member of the Atruim YMCA also. When I reached retirement age my insurance provided me with a silver sneakers membership. Atrium YMCA is the closest and best facility for me. Now I can't use their facility because I am a senior with Medicare/Silver Sneakers. I don't think this is fair as most all YMCAs provide this benefit for seniors.
I'm really disappointed in the YMCA.

Nice facilities, but when I decided to switch to another gym it was a nightmare to stop payroll deductions and when they finally stopped I was ignored/avoided when I came in to talk about refunding several months of payroll deductions (~$130) during which I no longer used their services. Displeased with the customer service.

This is one the worst YMCA in the area. I left another gym for the Y to use the pool. The aquatic director has no idea what she s doing. She over books them, doesn t leave a lap lane, is rude, and overall incompetent at her job. There s also times when she doesn t even staff enough guards so the chair is empty. I ran a aquatics center for many years and for how much members pay this is horrible!

Love this place! I go here nearly every morning, and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. Friendly staff, state of the art, clean equipment, open early and late. Best of all you know the culture is based around Christian principles of giving, sharing and high morals. Highly recommended!

I hate Child watch, they call you for nothing, they dont want the kids to cry or complain so I don't understand the point of it, if they can't watch my kids and try to calm them until my workout is over, it seems like they just don't want to watch them. Other than that, everything is good.

The Atrium YMCA will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary this Summer! The facility still appears brand new. The Atrium YMCA team is exceptional. The members and the "Cause driven" programs are this teams prImary focus. The "Cause" programs include the following; Miracle league, Fun2BFit, safety around water, LIVESTRONG, and financial assistance toward general membership. Please join today!

I just joined and have had a wonderful experience at the Y. Sign up was easy, friendly, and priced fairly.
The equipment is well kept as well as the facility.
I really enjoy my time here as does my family.

This YMCA is one of the newer ones in the area. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Full disclosure, I used to work here several years ago as a group fitness trainer. During that time, the YMCA was switching directors and starting to lay out a vision for the future.
It appears they are starting to see that vision. In the fitness center (the "gym") there are several rows of treadmills, ellipticals, and various types of exercise bikes which are centered around several large TV's. Right past them are two rowing machines.
As you journey toward the back of the center, there are about 12 or so weight machines and an assisted pull up machine. In the middle of the weight area is a half-walled area with some mats for stretching and other exercises, such as crunches or pushups.
Beyond that, are two racks of dumbbells ranging from 5 pounds all the way up to 100 pounds. Honestly, there were about 5 of us in there waiting our turn for the lighter dumbbells (15-35 pound range) and nobody using the heavier (80-100 pound range). It might be worth their while to get another rack of lighter dumbbells.
There are also the typical squat racks, benches, and plated machines. The equipment is all well maintained.
What was really nice were some of the new additions I saw. There were some boxes (for box jumps), two new pull-up bars, two TRX setups, and a punching bag. All new stuff that is usable for newer fitness trends. Very nice addition!
Finally, in the back there is a cycling studio where "spinning" style classes are taught, which can be used when no classes are in session.
My only cons are centered around the price. In the day of $10 Planet Fitness centers, paying for the YMCA is expensive. A family membership can run about $75 / month (although, assistance is available). While you should understand that there is more at the YMCA than a gym (there are camps, sports, classes, events, etc.) most of the extras have an additional cost associated with them.
To remain competitive, having maybe a $10-$15 / month option for gym only access would be great.

I m not so sure about the swim classes. The instructor is always late. He talks more than teach. Another class is scheduled at the same time and takes over half of the pool. The kids have no where to practice. I m not sure if we will be spending anymore money here
