We would love to thank the girls out front. They made it so easy for us to register Dr. Watson and they took him to get all of his shots. He was still living on them after he got his vaccinations. It was quick, easy, affordable. I will take him back. Thank you so much!!!

Super Happy!! I have a Tabby cat, 3.5 years old that needed spaying. The packages are super affordable so she got a rabies shot again and a chip as well. The surgery went great and the process was pretty straightforward! Thank you again for your help!

I can't recommend this place enough for their veterinary services, they were awesome from start to finish. My cat doesn't travel well and tends to get sick in the car, but they were so understanding and even cleaned up him and his carrier and provided another towel for him for the ride home. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, they even answered questions unrelated to the services we were there for. I was also impressed with how clean the whole place was and how reasonably priced their services were.

I can't speak for their adoptions process as I haven't adopted from them, but if it's anything like their vet clinic, I'm sure it's fantastic.

I love the Atlanta Howell Mill Humane Society. I am giving them a rating of 4 stars because although I love them I am also disappointed with them. You see , I have not been able to get an appointment for my Chihuahua to see the dentist. Several times I was able to take both of my fur babies into the facility and they were treated Royally. They got their shots , one had her teeth cleaned and they were given physicals. One even had surgery on her leg . I was very pleased. Duke my younger dog was to be scheduled to get his teeth cleaned the following couple of months and I was told they weren t cleaning any teeth right now !! I was disappointed! The next blow was when a wild animal attacked Duke and he needed surgery!! I was told to find another vet because they were not performing surgery! I was so scared. They knew Duke and they knew I loved him but no help. I had to find someone else and I did but I really didn t trust them like I trusted the Humane Society. You see I had experienced bad veterinarian care for a dog I had that died and my son suggested the Humane Society to me because as he puts it they care about dogs . They kiss them in the mouth.
The bottom line is this, The Howell Mill Humane Society is the best place you can take your fur baby provided you can get an appointment.

Please just go to your local animal shelter.

Please just go to your local animal shelter.

I bought a beautiful, sweet girl named Daisy from here. Paid $200 for her and within the same week of bringing her home I took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with heartworms. AHS only paid for a portion of the bill (which was over $600 total) and wouldn't even give me money back. Communication was horrid and they did not put me in consideration. Imagine paying for a sick dog and not getting any help from the buyer.

Edit : changed to 1 star.

Now to get the "REAL" recognition that the star ratings get on Google, I decided to switch it.

I made the decision to bring my wife and middle child to the facility that I had worked for over 15 years ago to show them (my family) a truly genuine passion for caring for the animals and the experience was nothing less than severely disappointing!

We live in West GA, and after looking at "BUCK" online for the past few weeks, I finally figured that it would be nice if we could even see him in person, to see if he would be able to make a good fit into our household.

Well, as soon as I asked to have him taken out of his kennel to spend time with him, a volunteer looked at me (and I felt like I was sick or something, like how could you want this dog???) at that point, before I knew anything else, we (the voulteer and I, in front of my wife and son) had a staring contest before she told me that she would have to get an actual staff member to do that "because he has had a history of less than acceptable behavior." Now in my head I'm thinking "ok challenge accepted" , but after I spoke with the manager, I was told that the adoption would not be approved (before I even got to TOUCH BUCK) #fail! I am not bashing BUCK nor any of the other animals at this establishment at all, at any point, as I believe we all can make a difference when we set out to do so)

I will elude to the fact that I (was) truly upset by the fact that I was SEVERLY MISLED by the company's "active" description of their available adoptable "animals" basically stating "the dog (BUCK) was good with kids" etc... (please see the photos) as I read, that because of what the dog had done, and because I had my 1 child (10yrs old) that they wouldn't be able to approve the adoption of BUCK'S past! Mind you all I did was ask to see BUCK! Again I understand the "political agenda" behind THE ATLANTA HUMANE SOCIETY, even as a former employee, an experienced dog owner, I would never expect to be dismissed before I get the chance to make a difference in one of these animals lives!

I WISH I HAD A BETTER REVIEW TO LEAVE FOR 5 STARS BUT I DON'T. PLEASE TRY TO CONTACT THE AHS BEFORE YOU MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO ADOPT!

YOU MIGHT WANT TO ASK FOR THE THINGS THAT ARE ONLY SHARED VIA WORD OF MOUTH AND NOT WHAT'S ON THE WEBSITE.

Think I'm making it up go and see BUCK for yourself! Get him out of there if you can! I assume he needs to be an only pet no children???

DISCLAIMER : our family was able to adopt a puppy from our "local" animal shelter and he will be VERY WELL cared for! (also see the photos)

ADDITIONAL DISCLAIMER : I know the life and times of animal lovers, don't make them extinct by making them non existent in the present!

This is the first place you should go when you are looking to adopt a new family member. Whether you are looking for a new bark to fill the air when you're trying to sleep, or if you are interested in a fluffball that will instead take up residence on your back (again, while you are trying to sleep). Either way, this is the place to be. The staff here is incredibly kind and caring and will help you make an appropriate decision so you can give a forever home to a grateful pet.

If you have a pet who needs veterinary care, they have a clinic here that is top notch and their fees are incredibly affordable. Need a spay/neuter done? They also have one of the most affordable services around, so call then today!

And if your pet is approaching their time to cross the Rainbow Bridge, they have affordable services so that they won't have to suffer. Even if you can't pay the very modest fee, they will make sure your pet will not have to be in pain. Many places try to charge outrageous fees to take advantage of your grief, but not here at Atlanta Humane Society.

No matter what stage of the adoption process you're in, Atlanta Humane Society is here to help you along the way. From new adoptions, to vet care, and even spay/neuter services for a pet you adopted elsewhere, make Atlanta Humane Society your first stop.
