Fabulous experience! Dr. Bealer and staff did a great job removing my cataracts.
Fabulous experience! Dr. Bealer and staff did a great job removing my cataracts.
Charged me $50 when I wasn't able to make my appointment. Fee wasn't explained to me prior.
Dr. Shah, his office staff, and his surgical staff were great! All very professional with a friendly and caring manner. Excellent results on my cataract surgery, too. I would highly recommend them.
Eye Physicians & Surgeons is one of best places to go if you are looking to find a great eye center. Whether you need yearly refractions, special treatment for eye conditions, surgeries, or even LASIK, you can expect great results with their staff! The doctors in the practice are very professional and have the experience that you can trust.
I was wanting to get LASIK surgery, because I was just tired of wearing contacts everyday and Dr. Ajeet Dhingra was the most highly recommended doctor to perform the surgery. Him and his staff made me feel safe and relaxed during the whole process. It is amazing to wake up everyday with perfect vision! Thank Dr. Dhingra and Eye Physicians for my new eyes!
I wish I could give 0 stars. Very disappointed with the timeliness and professionalism and care of this specialist and her practice. I had a 3:15 appointment for my son as I am a public school teacher and he is also in school. At 5:00 when we were still waiting to be seen the staff seemed to be annoyed at my presence and others who where waiting as they where prepping to close the office. At this time I discovered that another family who was waiting with me had been given the same appointment time. Another family that was scheduled just 10 minutes BEFORE us and still waiting said this was the second time they had been seen HOURS after the scheduled appointment time. When I was finally seen at 5:40. I was offered no apology. I brought the situation up to Dr. Weeks who replied that this is a normal outcome when their are "late evening appointments". She seemed very cold and unapologetic. She suggested that I make earlier appointments to avoid this happening as other appointment can run over. I suggested she have her scheduling team make few appointments in a day to alleviate the issue.
I mentioned to her that my sons eye check was developmentally inappropriate ( he was a fresh 4 being asked to identify letters and a means of determining vision) as a kindergarten teacher I know that early letter recognition for that purpose shouldn't begin until 4-5 months of kindergarten--not the beginning of pre-k. I knew from visiting before that she should have been given a "common objects test". Her response to that was that the tech was new and she expects new staff to make mistakes.
To make matters worse she performed a surgery for my son's Ptosis in July and said it should be completely healed in 2 months. I was not---far from and now at 5 moths post op he still has issues closing the eye. When I asked what the likely outcome would be as this surgery clearly didn't have a desired outcome and he eyes are nowhere near symmetrical she said that we can "explore options for another surgery" . So she botched a surgery and now that i should pay her to fix the work and put my son through the difficult healing process again.
Finally, I've been told i have a balance by this office 3 separate times during check- in and each time I'm shame walked to the billing department just to explain EVERYTIME that I had met my deductible as well as paid my surgery balance IN FULL before my sons surgery. Trust me, Weeks would not have touched my son without receiving payment first. Held up for 15 minutes or so each time for them to site billing/coding issues as the reason for the flag on my account. JUST TO FIND OUT THAT HER OFFICE ACTUALLY OWED ME OVER 400 DOLLARS! But of course I had to wait a few weeks to be mailed a check. I feel like I failed my son trusting this office.
Front desk service is absolutely the worst. I wanted to change my appointment date and I had to wait on the phone for literally 2 hours!!!!!. I don t understand how it could take that long when there was only 4 callers ahead of me. Doctors are amazing at this clinic but the front desk customer service makes me not want to come here anymore.
I've been going to Eye Physicians & Surgeons for about three years now, although i'm really writing the review for Dr Ajeet Dhingra, who I've exclusively seen at this location. The Decatur location's personnel are not as enthusiastic or happy, luckily I haven't had many (if any) problems with this location and the staff have been helpful both in person and on the phone. In fact, my last visit this August, I took care of my contacts pick up, visit with with the doc and got my new glasses on order without as much time spent waiting.
Dr. Dhingra, is a very skilled physician who gets it. Definitely interested in the health of your eyes, inquires about your family history, listens to any concerns/questions you have to say, and is very patient in explaining things that most may not.
I called to get a copy of my contact prescription to Use with 1-800 contacts. They wouldn t give me my prescription saying I need to see the doctor again for an eye ulcer (completely unrelated issue). Refusing a contact prescription is illegal. In fact they are legally obligated to give you a copy when you leave your appointment whether you ask for it or not. I was never given one and had to call to ask for it. The staff refused to give me a copy of my contact prescription until I cited The Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act. Do not let them with hold your prescription.
It wouldn t have mattered whether they had given it to me anyway, it was so incorrect that I had to see another doctor elsewhere. The waits were always long. I had also gone there previously for a medical eye issue and felt like they made unnecessary appointments in order to bill the insurance more. I shouldn t have had to go back as often as I did. I find their practice a little unethical, shady at best.
My Mother is a patient at this practice. She was greeted yesterday by a tech name Krismin. She was very patient with Motner and continued to monitor her progress as she went on with the visit. Krismin seemed really involved with her progressio.. I want to salute her and she needs to keep that level of enthusiasm with all her patients.
Lengthy wait after initial evaluation nice employees great service
I have been seeing Dr. Menon at Eye Physicians & Surgeons for years now. My son , also, has his annual exams there and we have been very pleased. Dr. Menon is wonderful .
We ordered our glasses and were told that it would take approximately 2 weeks for them arrive. After 5 weeks, no one called, so I called them. I called 4 times and no one returned my call. So, I finally called the front desk receptionist and asked that she please not connect me to the answering machine, as no one returns calls. In the middle of my request she transferred me, and of course no one answered the phone. I finally got through to someone and they told me that yes, the glasses were ready...I m exhausted with this place. I will not be returning.
I wish if I only read the reviews before !! when we arrived early , they checked my insurance by calling ( which is too late !! since they have my information ahead of that time!!), and they told me that its not covered so all my trip was useless. All what I got is sorry word.
please imagine that I took my kids from two different schools school one is buckhead and the other is in decatur and wasted my time for nothing! plus the girl in the reception was not professional and kind of rude. I have a special needs child was running around and I was following him to stop him but she shouted calling me because she wants me to stand on the reception not moving while she was trying to call insurance to verify my benefits !! oh good morning, too early to do that !!then complained that my children are running around and annoying others. Duhhh ofcourse ! if you request me to not move. my daughter spilled the water accidentally and I asked for help ( I want to clean it as I was worried that old people might have fallen down and got injured ) since I cant leave the children alone to bring tissue to clean it but she was rude, only the patiens (old people were trying to help me only). lot of old people so NOT child friendly . Dr.Kristina is nice but we prefer to meet her in Sandy spring location as the previous time. Thanks
The providers here, specifically Dr. Weeks, Dr. Bealer and Anita (tech), really care about the needs of their patients. It sometimes takes a while to be seen here, and that s because they do their due diligence to better understand your conditions, properly diagnose, and thoroughly treat patients. Highly recommend...truly exceptional care!!!
Dr. McManus is the best! I definitely recommend him. The only problem is waiting takes a while but other than that I love coming here. Very friendly environment.
They had me to drive all the way out here to tell me that they do not accept my insurance. That is a question that should be asked over the phone before the appt is scheduled. The young lady at the desk was not empathetic at all in regards to me traveling all this way and was unable to be seen.
I was scheduled for a Visual Field exam this morning (Dec. 19) which was made last June for this Dec., and was still waiting to be seen over an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment time. I inquired several times about length of time I would have to wait and was told it would be only five minutes longer. I was still waiting an hour and half to be called for the exam, and felt it was long enough to be kept waiting without staff notifying me of additional wait time and my having to ask when I would be seen. I decided to cancel my appointment. I realize the office is very busy,, but felt the situation could have been handled in a more professional manner.
After 21 years as a patient of Dr. Laura Bealer, three eye surgeries and what I perceive as assembly line medicine, I will no longer be obtaining eye services from jointly owned Eye Physicians & Surgeons, PC, and EPS Surgical Center LLC. Despite my extended history with both organizations, they sent me to collections for $17.50, without so much as a courtesy call. Both organizations clearly do no value me as a patient.
Update: Before I posted this review, I spoke with the billing representative at EPS Surgical Center. She provided no empathy of the situation and made no effort to resolve the situation. She stated they had sent me three invoices prior to sending me collections. I responded that I had returned two of them with my requested insurance information. She told me they did not bill insurance companies for medications and did not seem to care that I was going to post a review.
To the Owner, I paid my own $17.50 and removed myself from Collections before the Initial Review was post as I was being threatened that this amount was going to be posted on my credit report, and I did not want that to happen over $17.50. Dr. Bealor did call me, but I do not see that you did anything to resolve this to our mutual benefit. My original review stands.
I recently had laser done to my eye. The first time wasn t so comfortable. But this time Dr. Shah, made sure it was much better. The staff, are always friendly ,ready to assist, with whatever you need. They show concern about your eyes and that makes me feel good.
I also purchased my contact lenses, from Lynda Gomez. No one is more nicer than her. She makes sure you re satisfied with your contacts and fitting.
A big Thanks to the staff!!!!!!
Doctors are great; front desk customer service is horrible. They don t greet you as they are assisting you; they keep carrying their side conversation as you don t exist. I suggest retrain or fire them.
My wife had cataract surgery with Dr. Shah. From the initial visit to the final results, this was the ideal practice. All the staff was very nice in the surgery center and in the clinic. We see a lot of doctors for various medical issues, and Dr. Shah is the best of all. He takes the time to explain things and is a great doctor and surgeon. My wife now has perfect vision for far and near without needing glasses. He even went out of his way to speak to my son on the phone and explain everything before scheduling surgery. We had numerous appointments after surgery, and the wait times were always minimal. We highly recommend Dr. Shah and Eye Physicians Decatur!
This place has horrible customer service. I called to make and appointment and to give my new insurance information. I offered on many times to give my insurance info just to make sure they accepted my insurance. The lady keep rejecting my offer and said just bring to info on the day of the appointment. On the day of my appointment I get there and sign in. The front desk clerk is too busy having a side personal conversation to someone else for about 20 minutes before she even looked at my information to check me in. I go back to the desk and give her my new insurance information because she had not checked me in and I have been waiting for over 15 minutes. Once I gave her that info she looks and the card and says "Oh ma'am we do not not accept you insurance plan". I reminded all of this should have been taken care of over the phone when I offered and pleaded to give my information during that time. There was only an apology offered nothing was done to even compensate for my time. Everything was a waste of time and I will not be returning.
I had the most amazing visits with the Eye Physicians & Surgeons at 1457 Scott Blvd, in Decatur, Ga. over these last 3 months in preparation for my eye surgery. From the moment i entered the building the young ladies at the front desk i am sure could see that I was a little unsure of myself. They were so kind and extended their help in settling me down. Everyone I came in contact with was and is just so helpful. I don't want to start calling names because I am sure to forget someone but, Ms. Summer who handled my finances, scheduling, answering all of my questions was just wonderful. But the most precious doctor is Dr. Shalin Shah. Such great bedside manners, soft spoken doctor, humble and kind, took time with me each time I came to the facility, never rushed me out or didn't have time. I recommend to anyone who's in search of a great eye doctor, Dr. Shah is the one and that surgical Teams is the best. Kudos Eye Physicians & Surgeons .
Beware of excessive cost .I was charged $637.25 for routine eye exam in which my prescription was wrong and had to be redone . I disputed their billing but was not successful. Stay away from this deceptive practice.
I started here because my semi-annual checkup at Emory Eye Clinic took anywhere from 5 to 6 HOURS. Eye Physicians has been great. Some checkups take a while but they are very thorough and you don't have to sit in one hall after another for hours at a time. Dr. Gordon has been very efficient and informative and yeah, I'm going to get my cataract surgery done there without reservation.
The doctor was amazing! and the staff was very kind and friendly.
Recently had my second appointment with Dr. Menon. At my first appointment I felt like my symptoms weren't being taken seriously, but followed with the aftercare recommended. At the second appointment, I experienced pain after a procedure, and wasn't taken seriously *at all*. I was told by Dr. Menon that she "did the procedure correctly and I shouldn't feel any pain", but I did. Reluctantly she reversed the procedure, then refused to progress with treatment for at least another month and mocked me saying "because I might say that hurts too". I thought maybe it was necessary to delay after the first procedure, but after speaking to others with the same problem, learned there was no reason for the delay. So I'm here unnecessarily still suffering with the same condition 2 appointments later. I will not be returning. I was recommended to her from a friend, but nothing sends me running from a doctor quicker than not being listened to, never mind being mocked for telling them I was experiencing pain (it what should be a painless procedure).
I went to the eye doctor ," Laura Bealer" and was treated rudely , as if i was not there. I finally ask a question as it became apparent I would not get any volunteery information so after one question I quiet frankly was not as concerned with her rudeness but alas her credibility as an eye doctor.
I told her I was seeing 2 moons and objects like planes and stars also were of concern as I seen them in double also and her response and I QUOTE " it's normal to see two moons " unquote ! Nothing about the other objects !
She even wrote down the information wrong knowingly ( at first I thought maybe wrong profile was viewed by her but was told that is not possible by front desk as it acually had the correct information) .... She said I had eyewear and I did not . She also said I had 20 20 vision which I do not .
This by no means includes the front office who were very kind and helpful nor others. Just her and the person who agreed with her whom was obviously in training .
Went here initially for an eye emergency, but stayed on as a patient with Dr. McDowell for the past three years. Everyone is very kind, and Linda in contacts is the best!
Dr. Shah and his Staff are Awesome. They went above and beyond the call of duty to take care of my eye site.
I ve been having my vision checked here for years and have been satisfied but not happy now with results from cataract surgery.
I selected the option to pay quite a bit more for the lasik surgery, told it was better and safer but, not covered by insurance, and my left eye is no better than before surgery.
Very disappointed!!
I was a new patient at this practice and I saw Dr. Shah who came highly recommended. He took the time to explain cataract surgery to me and did an excellent job on my surgery. He also did a glaucoma procedure with it which lowered my eye pressure. I can now see perfectly without glasses. before surgery I had problems driving and seeing clearly. I would recommend Dr. Shah to anyone looking for a new doctor. I must say all the staff I saw including the nurses were very kind and caring. I have seen other eye doctors before, but this definitely stood out. I have since recommended other friends who have also been very happy. If you are looking for a place that will take the time and give you a high level of care, then this is the place to go. I had a great experience with Dr. Shah.
I have always been Treated , With the up most Respect and Given Great care from all the Staff. Especially my Dr SHAH Thank you !!!
The staff was very helpful and informative. Dr. Menon was great. She answered all my questions and explained everything very clearly.
You'll get lost at this big practice. We scheduled an appointment with Dr. McDowell and arrived early. There were so many people in the waiting room, waiting to see different Dr's, it seemed like we were getting overlooked. When we waited for almost an hour, I asked about our status and I could tell they forgot about us. We didn't receive an apology, we were immediately taken back like nothing happened. When I confronted the assistant about this, she acted annoyed and offered a half-hearted apology.
The doctors here are great. But........after going here for about 5 years I'm over the rudeness and incompetency of their front office staff.
I went in for an exam in Oct. They requested my medical insurance coverage (which they already had on file). I specifically told her DO NOT bill my medical coverage, this should be billed to VSP for my yearly exam. They went ahead and billed my medical insurance. Why? Because they make more money off of it that way.
As I was waiting for my appointment, there was a foreign man waiting to be seen that didn't speak much English. The front office staff told him he couldn't be seen because he wouldn't be able to understand the doctor. They asked him to call his brother to join him. His brother was at work. Then they asked him how he got there. He said a taxi. The entire staff were talking about him and laughing. I felt so sorry for the poor guy. When I was in the exam room, I heard the dr talking to him so thankfully he did finally get in.
So, love the doctors here but because of the office staff and their shady billing practices I'll be going somewhere else.
Stupid service ! They only check your insurance when u r there not before! Waste of money and time !!
My husband just completed his cataract surgery and is thrilled with the great results!! Thanks to Dr Laura Bealer and her great team he is able to
go without glasses for the first time in 50 plus years. They made the surgery process very smooth and pain free, and were always very patient and caring.
I came for a eye surgery. Had to wait one hour and the girls intentionally did not numb my eye for the surgery. When I brought it to their attention they bussed out laughing. There won't be nothing funny if they mess me up.
Advice for management:
Don't play with me. Get you act together, I know you all are family but the building is a business not your house. Playing around with me will have you in a major lawsuit.
HI My Name is Heidrun Smith. I am a patient of DR. Bealer along with my son, and husband, and friends. We have called in more than a few times to change appointments etc, and every time talked to the sweetest, caring person Melissa. She was so helpful each and every time we have called in. We need more people like her in the work place. I give her a 10.. Please let her know we do appreciate her and her kindness.
Thanks
Heidrun Smith
Lynda Gomez is the absolute best Technician ever. My story begins with My daughters annual visit with Dr Weeks and contacts were discussed and by the way Dr Weeks is the best also her rapport and patience is absolutely outstanding. So we were referred to see Lynda for a contact lens class and meeting Lynda for me was like meeting a friend. Lynda was very gentle, kind and patient with my 14yr old which made things very easy for her to leave with the success of being able to place her contacts in and take them out. Lynda dedicates her time and her lunch time :) to make sure we felt comfortable with the new contact venture. The entire staff has been very helpful, professional and accommodating with every visit there. We are very satisfied with all services received.
Terrible customer service. The staff and doctors are rushed curt and rude. There is absolutely no concern for patients. It is just a factory. And the wait is at least 2 1/2 hours per visit. Save yourself the aggravation and go somewhere, anywhere else.
I had the best experience here. I ve been to a few other doctors in town for glaucoma care and was never happy. Here, I was greeted with a smile and was welcome in by the front desk and nurses. I initially came to see dr shah for a second opinion and a glaucoma evaluation and was impressed with his explanations and knowledge. He had the best bedside manner and made me feel very comfortable. I then brought a friend in for an exam. Dr. Shah performed cataract surgery and did an amazing job. My friend could barely see prior and was unable to drive. Now she can see great and has no issues with driving. It s like she has a new set of eyes. True life saver. I would recommend this practice and Dr. shah to anyone looking for top Eyecare.
I was taking my grandfather for an appointment. As soon as I walked in, I felt unwelcome. The receptionist looked past me and smiled at another customer coming behind me and asked how she could help her. When she finally acknowledged me, I just moved on to the next. The receptionist that worked with me was very dismissive. All she had to do was check for his name in their system but she was so quick to send us away and tell us she couldn't do anything. The clinical technician that worked with my granddad was not welcoming. She talked to us like we were 5 yr olds.
