ASU Bookstore Review

I ordered a couple shirts online and the bookstore lost them. Waited around for 45 minutes as they looked around. They told me they'd email me when they found them, so I left empty-handed. After a couple more days I returned because I still hadn't gotten an email. Turns out they'd decided to just refund my money without contacting me. I didn't want my money back, I wanted the shirts I bought... Prices are ridiculous and the service I experienced was not stellar, to say the least. Horrible experience all in all.

Super cool store with lovely merchandise. The staff is lively and always ready to help!

Always fast lines outside of the first day of classes

Great campus bookstore at Arizona State University, especially for school merchandise like shirts and souvenirs.

This store is always great. I actually purchase items from here instead of Officemax or Michael's. They have pretty quality notebooks and it's easy to navigate by author to find textbooks, if you are also a student at ASU.

Lines are always long, but that is inevitable when it's for all students on campus. The staff is always so friendly and the store is very clean. They have a huge selection of clothes, books, etc. and I personally love how they carry ASU gear in name brands such as Adidas.

As a Sun Devil's fan, there's no better place to get the best official merch.

If you have a pell grant deferment, make sure they clarify whether your costs will be fully reimbursed. Many people don't know that they have free money to buy textbooks and a laptop or tablet. Highest is $650. Other than that...don't come here its way overpriced. Go to Walmart or Target.

as with most campus stores the stuff in here is pricey but the set up is perfect. really easy to find your textbooks and the cashiers get you through quickly. everyone is always smiling and helpful. having a starbucks in there is a plus as well.

Been a while since I had been there. Did not realize that you could bring backpacks in. Not too bad prices (non-ASU stuff) and not too densely packed

I am a full time working mother and I had an issue with a textbook and I have called for days during their open hours to ask some questions and NO ONE EVER answers the phone, forcing me to drag the whole family into the store. Ridiculous!

This place is absolutely amazing. I went here for a tour since I was in a Medical camp at ASU and I fell in love with it. I can't wait to finish this last year of high school and go to ASU!

Careful about parking- we got a ticket in visitor lot!

If you go to ASU and you need your textbooks, this is likely where you will go. The nice things about this place include: a coffee shop, book pickup, and the courteous staff. Not so nice: the prices.

Decent place to buy souvenirs from. A bit overpriced though

So upset with my visit here. The staff were amazing and so kind but the stores' policy was trash. During orientation the speaker told us that the book store does price match for Amazon and they have the lowest prices. WRONG. I went in and tried to get them to price match Amazons price but apparently even if the seller is Amazon, they have to be shipped by Amazon as well. I am so tired of this school squeezing every dollar out of us that they can. I pay $40,000 a year as an out of state student, I would like to be able to save a few dollars buying my books but it seems like ASU has the highest price of every other place I found. The only thing is, that the other places can not ship my books in time. So guess I am SOL.

Obviously, there are going to be cheaper places to buy textbooks or other official merchandise, but it is very convenient and they have a great selection.

Annoying and unnecessary. You can get the same books online and not have to wait for an hour in line.

Use as last resort. Very expensive compared to amazon.

They really have something for everyone if you're looking for a gift for your favorite Sun Devil! They also had a lot of clothing on sale and seasonally appropriate items we're easy to find and reasonably priced.

Best place to buy Asu merchandise. A bit costly but we can find wide variety of things. Also we have discounts during thanksgivings. We even get electronics at discounted prices for students and staff. Apple products are sold at discounted price. I like this place a lot.

Can you say awful? I've spent the better part of today trying to return my rented textbooks. First, I was told the books could not be returned without my receipt. Why? I wasn't looking for money, just honoring the terms of the rental agreement. Second, I tried to do the online process to return them because I couldn't go back to the store today. Unfortunately I decided to rent a book from the store ,not processed online, so I was told that book couldn't be returned with the other ones. This is where it gets silly. I was told I would be charged the price of the book plus a non return penalty, but I could adjust the rental agreement online and pay only the difference between what I paid to rent it and the cost of the book. I like that option better. However, because I didn't rent it online, there is no online agreement to adjust. Furthermore, the store couldn't adjust my account over the phone. I was told I had to come in and pay the difference. If i could come in, I would just return the $*&king book! Then, I was told after being charged the full price of the book the store would continue to solicit me until I made it official that I was keeping the book. I'm not a finance major, but wouldn't my purchase of the book solidify ownership? I called the store back and got voice mail or hung up on.
I called the downtown location and explained everything that happened and was told that you don't need the receipt to return rentals. Their instructions to me were to include the book in the box with a note and there should be no penalty. Thank you downtown lady! You rock!

Wow this place is HUGE! They have everything you could want... Including a big ASU Flag for the flag pole out front of my house. I would have given 5 stars if the kids working up front knew the store better. I asked them about the flag and they said they don't carry flags. I found that hard to believe and looked for it myself. Found it.

Plenty of space and employees in this building! Gifts for purchase, textbooks rentals/online pickup/purchase, Starbucks Coffee, items to fill your dorm, tons of electronics, and plentiful amounts of ASU gear for students.

Overpriced items and does not accept M&G!! What kind of college doesn t accept its own currency?!

Just wish they had more variety of stuff for family, like for husbands/wives.

I would advise every student to not shop here!! The prices are ridiculously over marked and available online for much cheaper. ASU uses this store to bleed there students of any cash they have. I have noticed an increase in special ASU edition of books, forcing you to spend $250+ plus for a brand new book they wont rebuy, because they want to fudge you. The workers are all nice and upstanding employees though. But seriously if ASU wants to respected by their students why not be proactive in helping get book prices down. New American University my a**.

The environment is clean and tidy, many things can buy college books, all kinds of stationery supplies notebooks, computer 3C peripherals, ASU winter and summer clothes, cups, sanitary napkins, cosmetics, skin care products, etc., and even rent textbooks, all kinds of students here Everything you need to use is very complete, but things are not necessarily the cheapest, right... there is Starbucks here.

So expensive!! Each composition book is $4+, let alone the cost of getting a backpack or textbook. Unless you're forced by a professor to get an ASU-specific version of something, anything you're looking for can be found for hundreds of dollars cheaper on Amazon.

Large selection of Devil's clothing but surprisingly few mid-priced items, especially men's polos

Only benefit to this place is the central location on campus. Overcharges for books, both rented and bought, and of course, everything else in the store is overpriced like crazy, from clothing to simple school supplies. Really do not recommend going here for anything.

Nice place pretty much sundevil stuff you'll never find at the regular department stores.

They have so much to choose from everything is so fashionable and nice. Gifts for grandparents, siblings, parents and good selection of toddler/baby items. Mugs,glasses, pens, baseball caps. Cashiers are very nice willing to help. Most stuff is pretty expensive though, polos, the dri-fit shirts, long sleeves, $30-40-50. A Few tshirts available under $20.

I'm so proud of my son we work to hard to get in ASU, and yes we make it........
at there they have great prices on all electronics.

What a mess. avoid this place at all costs... Very disorganized. I waited in a queued line, with more lines than people which caused lots of confusion. Waited 24 minutes, to be told the item I was there to pick up wasn't ready despite getting an email saying it was. Nutty.

Run smoothly by mostly a student staff. Great options.

Nice place but prices are way too high..how are college students supposed to afford anything in there?? All I got to say is: " your price is way too high, you need to cut it "

Huge store with many options. You can definitely find anything you're looking for here... However, it is extremely overpriced. if your student you may get a discount but what about the rest of us? I wish they made it more affordable for AZ residents to purchase their merchandise since it ultimately supports them.
