Assmang's nickel division operates one mine: Nkomati Nickel Mine. Nkomati Nickel Mine is located in the Machadodorp area of Mpumalanga Province.
Assmang's coal division operates two mines: Khwezela Colliery and Middelburg Colliery. Khwezela Colliery is situated approximately 12km south-west of Witbank; Middelburg Colliery is located approximately 20km south of Middelburg.
