ACES has a wonderful setting and the work they do in environmental education is significant. Visitors are welcome at Hallam Lake and their other sites as well.
Hidden gem! Get by take a walk donate to a special place that helps animals.
Beautiful place and litterally beside the town of aspen you could walk to it.
Beautiful paths, great chance to get up close to some animals. Friendly staff. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in Aspen.
We have been there at one of the evenings for beaver watching and we really enjoyed it. It is fun for kids.
We went to Maroon Bells today to do the crater lake hike and we saw a sign that said you could hike with a ACES guide! We joined our guide Brette for the hike and she taught us so much!! We have done the Crater Lake hike three times now and she really made the hike awesome. Thanks so much! She let us know they do these hikes at multiple trails. We will definitely be on the lookout in the future.
Extremely friendly staff and a beautiful snowshoe trail made for a wonderful visit.
A great place to teach kids about nature. A fun little walk around the lake area. A true nature hike as all types of wildlife inhabit the area.
Wednesdays and Thursday nights at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies are fabulous !! Wed.-Pot Belly Prospectives at 7:00pm and Thursdays-Naturalists Night's,7:00pm. Ace's is located at Hallem Lake, behind the Aspen Post Office, off Puppy Smith street.
A nice little park and preserve nestled within civilization. They have some interesting programs, guided tours, and a self-guided tour.
An extremely important part of land conservation. With naturalists who are well educated, and an awesome place to bring your children, or if you just want a quiet and peaceful place to walk around and see nature.
Lovely place, being in Aspen, but wow it's so expensive here (the British pound is weak )
Wonderful adventure in the woods. Scavenger hunt was super fun!
Great place for a short visit with kids of all ages
Very nice place. All employees very helpful and knowledgeable. The bird presentations were great.
Beautiful 25 acre spot nestled in the forest, knowledgable naturalists, and a visit from a young black bear to top off the presentation!
Beautiful place to observe Aspen's nature at its finest. The kids loved it. Highly recommended.
We love visiting ACES, participating in their programs and especially love what they stand for and the fact that they are trying to promote awareness and spread knowledge about our impact on the environment!
Fun to explore (aimed for younger kids but is great for all ages)
Omg a hidden oasis in the middle of Aspen. I visited during the winter and it truly felt like a winter wonderland. I was the only person there and would love to retune during the summer. Did I mention it s free?
A little peace and quiet in the middle of town. Great nature walk, you have to check out the birds of prey! They have a golden eagle on the grounds. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about pretty much everything. Check it out
Great fun and educational place for kids and adults!
We had our wedding reception here on a rainy fall evening. The staff was so friendly, the space was super cozy, and all of our guests could not stop gushing over how beautiful everything was. Truly magical :)
So beautiful and serene. An easy walk from the center of town to this peaceful oasis.
Great staff, so friendly and helpful, you can tell they love what they do! Watched them feed the birds and did the junior naturalist program and had a great time. Also a beautiful area and little hike. Highly recommend a stop, although during winter I m not sure the animals would be as active. All free!
Free, nice trails, not many native animals I thought there would be more
Great experience. I will visit again. Very knowledgeable staff, great place to take the entire family
