Well worth the visit.
Nice calm and subdued setting. $15 for wine tasting of 6 wines. The pricest we have seen so far and not sure if this was redeemable upon wine purchase because we did not buy any.
Excellent selection of cheeses to compliment but unfortunately outshone the wines.
Lovely setting. Beautiful platter with great wine's for tastings, or buying by the glass. Modern building and amenities. Friendly and obliging staff. If you haven't been to Artwine, suggest that the next time you are in the area, drop in.
Great service, lovely setting. Beautiful glass of Pinot Grigio with the sensational Vine Pruners Platter. What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon with my mother while she is on holiday from New Zealand
A fabulous place to sit and watch the sun set on a beautiful autumn Sunday afternoon. Happy and friendly vibes.
We researched some nice places for platters and wine, and happened upon Artwine. So glad we did. Awesome location, lovely food, and really nice staff. Would highly recommend this place for a special stop.
A lovely experience, you are greeted by a sculpture with a glass full of wine, although I liked them, I wish I could find a red with more body, but clearly they are still wonderful. The wine environment is like a movie, the service is very good and the cheese board is exceptional.
A pleasant and brief visit. The rarer varieties here are great to see and try. Wines themselves very much worth a try. 5/5 for the wine.
So, why only three stars? The non-redeemable $15 (yes, non-redeemable) per head charge for tasting six sips of wine. 1/5.
I was so surprised that such a high tasting charge was non-redeemable I just paid and left, having spent the price of a decent bottle of wine on 6 sips of wine each for the two of us, a handful of roasted almonds, goat s curd and not enough crackers. I emphasise sips - there was barely enough to taste in some pours.
I don t normally leave negative reviews, but this just seemed exorbitant. Of course I could have asked about redeeming before going ahead with the tasting, but given its more or less a given at places charging to taste, it seemed a redundant question. I see I m not the only one to raise this, and it seems from earlier reviews that only a couple of years ago a tasting here was $5 for 8 wines, which was of course redeemable. I understand that free tastings for minibuses from the city is probably not a profitable exercise, but at least rewarding custom would seem logical. As it is, it has cost both sales on the day, and the likelihood of a return visit.
*Update in light of owner s response*
Unfortunately the tone of the response pretty much sums it up I m afraid. The serves of wine barely amounted enough to taste, and beyond booked specialty tastings of museum releases cost more than anywhere else we have been in nearly 11 years of cellar door visits (and in now all but two cases, cellar door purchases).
We shared a lunch platter and bottle of rose at this lovely winery. It was just perfect, amazing views and the platter was delicious. Would highly recommend.
