Artisans Restaurant Review

Without a doubt...Artisan's is probably the BEST Restaurant in Toms River and surrounding areas. Not only for their food, but the service as well.

Enjoyed Easter brunch. Weren't rushed and drinks were good

Ok now, Tuesday appetizer Happy Hour nothing like it was, house wines no longer very good. Can go elsewhere for $70 for 2 that's not happy hour more selection.

We went on a Sunday night just after christmas. You can make reservations or "call ahead" via the Internet which is very convenient.

The food was excellent and the staff was friendly. I would recommend my friends and family to eat there.

Edited: upgraded to 5 stars as the lighting and atmosphere does make you feel that you are no longer in toms river next to the sea court pavilion

The staff is phenomenal. Mostly overall great fare, had the warm farro salad on special once....it was delicious. Pretty excellent $5 apps for ladies night. Oh that avocado toast! Great local place, will be back!

Had a party here recently. Food was awesome, room held everyone perfectly, food was in a separate area which was nice, everyone had a great time! Would have preferred that when we gave the final head count the price included tax and gratuity, this way the estimated cost would have been closer to the actual final cost.

Eddie is the best guy and server ever! Food was phenomenal!!

Best pizza hands down since I moved here from Staten Island The maragrita pie perfection as well as their spicy pie. I also love the hot goat cheese salad...yummers

Best spot in Red Bank! Staff is friendly and super knowledgeable on the extensive wine list (which is all- Italian). Microbrews are made in house and a real treat with constantly rotating seasonal beers. Food is top notch and thoughtfully prepared in every way. A great place to stop for dinner near the Count Basie or Two River Theater.

Fantastic local restaurant serving a great variety of food. They have also hosted meetings that I have been involved with for years and never disappoint. Thank you to the entire staff for always accommodating requests and providing excellent food!

Had a bereavement luncheon here. Perfect private room for the family and excellent buffet.

Had a fantastic experience at Artisan s for my daughter s Bridal Shower! The food was excellent and the service you couldn t ask for better. I would highly recommend this place for any venue. I will definitely go back. Thanks again Artisan s for your superb service!

Nice place for dinner, food was good but a bit costly for what you get.

Service is slow. Had to ask for bread 3 times but the table next to us was given bread minutes after they sat. Bartender is terrible: both times we have been there with the guy bartender working we were treated poorly. When complained to the manager he had an attitude. It s too bad... the food is very good.

just had drinks and an appetizer but the Ambiance and the feel of the place is fabulous and I know friends who eat here often and love it

Best place to eat in Toms River! I have read some complaints about food being slow but this place isn't a corporate place. They cook fresh food to order. They are not throwing some bag of beans into a microwave and slopping it on your plate. If you want fast food, well then go to a fast food joint. My favorite thing on the menu is the short ribs but you really can't go wrong with anything. Top notch and best place to eat in Toms River!

Went today for their Thanksgiving buffet with my father. Everything was good except for the roast pork which was overcooked. The Turkey was also a little overcooked but not as bad as the pork. My father loved the beer !! He was disappointed with the expresso though not strong enuf. Our waitress Kelly was excellent!

Some of the brews where good, the food was good, and the prices fair. Definitely worth checking out if your hungry and want to try some craft beer or just hungry.

Food is delicious, service excellent and the ambience/lighting was romantic. Great specials.....perfect place for dinner or drinks.

Went for Christmas Eve dinner. The place was mobbed, but the service and food was simply wonderful.

We were a party of 5 for Brunch , everyone enjoyed their meal and the desserts , Sangria and our Waitress Christina was great! Highly recommend if you haven't tried their brunch menu , so delicious!

My friend and I stopped into Artisan's for the first time in probably a decade last night. We didn't try the food, but sat at the bar and ordered a flight of their home brews. For only $12 you get to sample all 6 of their beers... And the samples aren't just in tiny glasses... They're pretty big! Every beer was delicious and very unique. Josh the bartender was so nice, informative, and we really enjoyed talking with him. The atmosphere was really rustic and cozy. I loved this place! Can't wait to go back!

Went on a Saturday evening. It was full but not a line waiting to get in. The food was good. Mostly pasta and pizza. But also burgers. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive. The food came out promptly.

Nice atmosphere. Food is good. Was there for a family gathering in back banquet room so it was a buffet. Service was very good.

I regularly meet family and friends at Artisan's Restaurant as the food is consistently good and the people friendly with excellent service. Love their eggplant and their ahi tuna!!

The food was just passable, portions irregular and service sucked. When paying this much for a la carte, do not use plastic glasses or serve grated cheese in a cheap container, tasting like sawdust.
Very disapointing. I would not go there again.

Awesome! It's a little pricey, but if you go during their specials you can get some good food for a good price!

Very accommodating. Arrived with a group of 12 without a reservation, was seated within 20 minutes. Staff was fantastic and so was the food.

Excellent food, exceptional service, great date night! Ask for Josh, he was awesome.

Side salad was a real serving of salad, great house dressing.

My boyfriend and I tried this restaurant for the very first time. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was absolutely delicious.

I been here for 1 hour and 20 min. Im a single person who ordered a burger. I dont understand. If you value your time don't come here. Im still here btw waiting on change. Ridic

This place used to be good. My family and I have had many occasions at this restaurant over the years. We recently celebrated my daughters High School graduation at Artisans restaurant. The menu was very limited and way overpriced. My $30 crab cakes were the worst I've ever eaten. The mashed potatoes definitely came out of a cardboard box and not one of my guests for dinner was able to finish eating. It was not only a tremendous waste of money but an embarrassment. We will definitely not be eating at Artisans anymore.

Wow. Im so disappointed in how much this place has gone downhill in the last 5 years or so. The menu is minimal, the prices are maximal. I used to love this restaurant but this is not that restaurant.

The food was great, we had the sesame tuna appetizer which was very delicious and for dinner I had cesar salad which was also amazing. The place was very nice and our server was very kind and helpful. Definitely recommend this place!

Every time is better then the last. From the apps to desert the wine to the service... Everything was perfect and delicious! Recommend the black truffle raviolis and the creme brule awesome flavors

Great food and atmosphere. No rushing here, you can relax and enjoy yourself.

The food is always excellent and very consistent. They do change the menu up a lot so if you find something you love, get back there quick to enjoy it again. There is usually a salmon or grouper dish that is always amazing. This may sound strange for an Italian restaruant, but please trust me when I say the hamburgers are the best in Ocean County. I know, I know it does sound like a joke. It is not. The burgers are awesome.

Went at 2pm on a Thursday, so it was not busy at all. Server was polite but the food took extremely long - 40 minutes for grilled cheese, salads and a burger. The burger did not come out correct either. Won't return.

The food was Great a nice atmosphere.it is a fine dining restaurant.

We have lunch here at least 2-3 times a week!
We completely look forward to seeing Eddie either behind the bar or taking care of us!
He s professional, funny and always remembers what we like to eat and drink!!

Title: Great place to dine, poor decision for large parties.

Overview: This is not a negative review - Artisans is a good restaurant and has good food. We would gladly eat here again as a family or small group (8 at the most). Just don't plan any big parties here. The main reason for my 3 star review is because of the seemingly bait and switch of the rooms for our party and our overall experience. The food was definitely the saving grace.

Experience: We've heard good things about the food at Artisans, and due to its proximity to the church, we decided to book them for the celebration following our daughter's baptism.
When we originally met with a man (we are told he is one of the owners apparently), we were shown a spacious room in the rear of the restaurant. He was confident that it would easily hold our expected party of about 60-80 people, as each table back there was set comfortably for 12 people, and there were 6 tables presently set. We ended up putting down a deposit of $200 to hold the space for our party and work on the menu/ attendance.
Once we made our decisions and received our RSVPs (70 people), we went to the restaurant to make our menu selections and final payment.
When we got to the restaurant, we were told that another party had scheduled for the same day and they had more people - and so, our party would be moved to the front room of the restaurant. The front is divided into TWO separate rooms with a door in between! When we asked about the back room and how we were the first to book, they told us they do large parties up front all the time just fine. Now we had to decide on who we had to separate from our family and friends, and totally rearrange our seating just days before the event.
Day of the party -
Seating was TIGHT.
The booths barely fit 4 people. We had to squeeze some people into tables to accommodate.
They ran out of highchairs - despite us telling them beforehand that we would need 9 of them, we were assured that they had us covered.
They ran out of plates at the buffet - there were more available (they had to go get them), but they didn't notice until 4 or 5 of us started to congregate at the end of the buffet, and we finally said something about waiting for plates.
The wait staff asked our guests if they wanted any drinks from the bar, without telling them that it was a cash bar! We caught it pretty early, but we were presented with a tab for a table that had already left. However, considering we had a few no-shows, the management waived the bill, which was nice.
Despite all the ridiculousness, our wait staff and hostess were very gracious and accommodating, and the food was very good.
All in all, it was a chaotic experience, but again, the food ultimately saved the day - and that's what it's all about, right?

Good brews! Get a flight but make sure to try the winter lager if you like spiced brews. The giant pretzel is amazing... Can't wait to go back and try the food. Good place to watch a game as well.

The appetizer was amazing! Sea scallops with a creamy sauce. The 2 meals were not good at all. I had the Salmon over a type of rice, very bland. My friend had the spinach pocket thing, it was like spinach dip with a crusty outer layer, belly ache was a result. The price was ridiculous for what we got.

Very sparce menu ... food took forever and so did drinks and there was no one there . I could understand if the place was packed but there may have been a total of 3 tables. They brought out a table center piece as a birthday candle and didnt have regular sugar for the coffee

Half priced apps...house brews were great...couldn't finish meal, but left with leftovers!

I ve passed this place many times and always say, we need to try it. Well, yesterday, my sister and I went for lunch. We both ordered appetizers, salads and shared a dessert. The shrimp cocktail was amazing as well as the wings. The salads were fresh and delicious. The dessert, warm brownie with ice cream was worth the indulgence. My advice is to definitely give this place a try. We will be back.

Nice place, not a lot of meal choices but the food is really good. Good local brewed beers. Price is good too. Nice for family or large groups.

For as much as I spend time with my girlfriends, when I have my lunch dates with them we visit our special place Artisans!! Our special lunches are always so welcomed by our server Eddie!! He knows our arrival schedule, has our table ready and our special food order already written down!!!

Not only do I recommend Artisans, I would also recommend requesting Eddie as your server!!! He is the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!

I meet here with a group of friends usually 1 or 2 times a month. The service, food, and drinks have always been top quality.

We went to Artisans for Easter Brunch. Some meals were good, the others only fair. My son's steak was very small and overcooked. Service was good.

Had my sisters repass at this restaurant. Guaranteed 25 had a nice private room . The food and service was excellent.
