Every officer in the building was rude and treated me like I was below them. Not a word of kindness, not even a hello

Dismissive and condescending officers acted like they were all ready to jump me and arrest me for asking if I was in the right place to have my fingerprint cards filled out for my background check. They cut me off from finishing the full question and one of them circled around behind me staring a hole in the back of my head. This is not a place to go for any kind of inquiry or assistance.

I'm a father who's daughter was arrested for public intoxication just before Thanksgiving. The arresting officer, officer Downs, went above and beyond the call of duty that night. He made every attempt to find other avenues to get my daughter to a safe place. Unfortunately, it was not possible. I received a phone call at 1:30 am from the officer, who found my number in my daughter's phone to notify me of the situation. I was 2 hrs. Away and could not offer assistance. He was left with no other options but to take her to jail to sleep it off in a safe place. I am deeply grateful for this officers empathetic actions. Thank you officer Downs. Your a credit to your badge, your community, and to your brother officer's.

I realize everyone s experiences are going to be different day to day and with different members of the department. I believe we can all learn something by understanding that the sheriffs department has a job to do for Public safety and the community. I found in my experience was very positive.
