What is Cultural Resource Management?

Cultural resource management (CRM) is a process that involves identifying and preserving cultural resources such as archaeological sites, historic buildings, and artifacts. CRM aims to protect these resources from damage or destruction caused by development projects or other human activities.

Archeo-Tec's Services

Archeo-Tec offers a wide range of services related to CRM. Their team of experts can help with everything from site surveys and assessments to excavation and analysis. They also provide consultation services for clients who need advice on how best to manage their cultural resources.

Site Surveys and Assessments

One of Archeo-Tec's primary services is conducting site surveys and assessments. This involves identifying potential archaeological sites or other cultural resources within a given area. Archeo-Tec uses state-of-the-art technology such as ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and magnetometry to locate buried artifacts or structures.

Excavation

If an archaeological site needs further investigation, Archeo-Tec can conduct excavations using traditional methods such as hand digging or more advanced techniques like remote sensing technologies. They follow strict protocols when excavating sites so that they do not damage any artifacts or structures.

Analysis

Once artifacts have been recovered from an excavation site, they are sent for analysis at Archeo-Tec's laboratory facilities. Here, experts use various techniques such as radiocarbon dating and DNA analysis to determine the age and origin of the artifacts.

Consultation Services

In addition to their fieldwork services, Archeo-Tec also provides consultation services for clients who need advice on how best to manage their cultural resources. This includes developing management plans, providing training for staff, and conducting public outreach programs.
