As of Wednesday, Oct 7th it is only open Saturday and Sunday for mass. The architecture is beautiful from the outside. Amazing details. I'm sure the inside is more grand! I wish it was open for public. There were a lot of people outside. Socially distancing from each other and wearing mask. It reminds me so much of the cathedral my famity and I went to growing up.
Was closed at 14:00, which church has such opening times? Then everyone who wants to visit the church comes in this small time window, great in covid times.
I ve never experienced such rudeness by church staff members. I have recently moved here and was planning to become a parishioner. Most likely won t. It might help if they treated visitors like members of the faith instead of the disdain that was shown to me and visiting members of my family. It would have been better to have the doors locked completely. It would help to have staff there who appreciate being around other people, especially in a church.
Make sure you are able to plan your visit. There was a wedding when I went to visit so only saw from the outside (which there is nothing to do nor see) and the giftshop.
Always an excellent place to stop and enjoy the sights and enjoy the scenery. Definitely worth the visit.
Churches are allowed full capacity and yet Archbishop Wester is STILL keeping people out of mass by limiting attendance! We tried to attend Sunday mass here and the doors were locked four minutes before mass started. Something is very misaligned here.
Mass to church was the first time I've been to mass in a year being fully vaccinated I feel safe
The historical vibrance and the aesthetic detail in the architecture, the beautifully roses and the labyrinth to the left of the entrance are three of it's aspects I appreciate. The one saint and really only one I have been fascinated by is St. Francis with his love of animals and the natural world. This is a cathedral worth preserving to say the least. Enjoy.
I really wish it was open. Other than that it has a beautiful exterior. I love the architecture.
Beautiful cathedral. We overheard a guide saying it was repainted for its 400th birthday. That s impressive...if we heard it right. The gift shop is large with a huge selection of items. Definitely worth a stop.
