I started using this clinic around the time I moved to the area based on the reviews, and I'm extremely happy with the decision. Their prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and professional, and Dr. Dulaney has proven to be extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and an all around great vet. There's the tl:dr of our experience, with more detail following.
On one of our very first visits, I brought a concern to Dr. Dulaney that my dog Chaz had been urinating more frequently and in the house, which is unusual for him. She performed a urinalysis, and the results showed "abnormal cells". She recommended an ultrasound, which revealed that my dog had Transitional Cell Carcinoma, an extremely aggressive bladder cancer. Because it was caught so early, we were in the position to be able to attack it on all fronts, surgery, chemo, meds...the whole gamut. I read horror stories on many different forums where people had taken their pets to the vet with similar concerns, and they were written off as persistent UTI's, given antibiotics, and sent on their way, when in the end it turned out to be cancer and wasn't caught until much later. Dr. Dulaney took my concerns very seriously, and was educated and knowledgeable enough to recognize such an abnormality with the performed tests, and from my understanding the abnormal cells that were shed were not in a large quantity.
Unfortunately, my dog ended up passing away from the disease, but I am confident I had more time with him than most because of the early diagnosis. While I worked with a specialist on most things cancer related, I continued to bring Chaz to Dr. Dulaney in for check ups. I had tons of questions and she was always extremely patient and thorough with explanations, whether I was asking during an appointment, a phone call, or just dropping in...which I did all of these, frequently. I never felt rushed, or like she needed or wanted to be doing something else. When the terrible day came that I knew I had to let Chaz go, she provided a wonderful recommendation of a vet who could come and perform the procedure at home. And lastly, she sent a beautifully written card, with a picture of a black Pomeranian on the front, just like Chaz.
I will absolutely continue to use Dr. Dulaney and Arbor Animal Clinic for my other pets with confidence, and highly recommend them to others.
