Rude and inefficient, waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged for fingerprinting and I was told to wait in the waiting area without asking the purpose of why I was there. 2 hours later I am called up and told I need to go to a different building to get my fingerprints done. Each interaction the officer was incredibly rude and hostile.

My car and purse got stolen today. Yay me.. anyways I called to see the process of how everything works, and the dispatch named Stephaine was nice but kinda annoyed when I asked her I haven t received a call yet about my car.. anyways, she told me if they couldn t get hold of me they d leave a voicemail, well I explained I don t have a voicemail set up because my service plan for some reason it won t let me set one up. She proceeded to ask me how old I was, I told her I m twenty-one. And she says well it s time to grow up and get that taken care of, I have to go and take a 911 call now. Stephaine why do you feel the need to say that? You were super nice explaining things and then say that? Like my car got stolen and my purse today for one and for two because I don t have a voicemail I m not a grown up? I m disappointed on why you would say that? What was the need? The point? I get you may hate your job and get tons of the same questions but be more sensitive about others when their life gets turned upside down. No, I don t want her fired her I want her talked about for saying that whether she wasn t trying to be rude or not. It s still not necessary.

For the first few years of living close by this station, I had to call them at least once a week. They ve always been quick to respond, professional and respectful. They and south metro fire responded when my neighbors cat escaped and fell into the storm drains. They went above and beyond to get the car back. Even after a murder, a bomb in the creek tunnel and random gunshots the detectives are always very professional. Thankfully after the increased presence in my area, I haven t had a reason to call them for a while now.

Always great and helpful when needed. One issue is the speed traps just North of Arapahoe on Colorado Blvd across from the fire station, on Arapahoe at the bottom of the hill of Colorado Blvd sitting on E. Nobles Rd and sitting shooting radar at Clayton and Arapahoe.
I realize there are a FEW times it is life safety, but it is obviously a revenue generator.
I still give you guys 5 stars when things get serious, but you get 1 star for speed trapping to hit revenue goals.

Please bring back appointments!! I showed up at 7:30a because the website said they opened at 8a and they were already full with walk-ins. I tried to explain I lived 2 hours away and the guy asked where I lived. When I told him where I lived he argued about the distance instead of offering help or at least a suggestion as to when to show up. I work full time and can only come into town once a week, much of my day was planned around this. Good luck trying to get anyone to answer the phone or call you back... Update your website or bring back appointments please!

Jail needs urgent inspection. Unsanitary conditions, ignorance from medical workers here is dramatic to inmates. Cells and units are dirty, cloths and beds not laundered for a while. This place needs city and county attention. I saw few inmates with very bad medical conditions and staff ignoring them. Cant believe we leave in 21st century. Its a shame!

The officers that work for this department are out of control with power. As a lady that was the victim and to have a officer puff out his chest at me in intimidation is uncalled for. Really wish we had good people to call for help. Then if you call to say you being mistreated the person answering the call is no help. Making me repeat myself over and over they say dont talk to me like that is out of this world. We have no one to call for help. Sad world we live in

Officers or whatever they call themselves pull over our truck and like a dogs start looking in cargo we a hauling suspecting we have something illegal. Brake door seal enter inside and search without warrant. Then when they did not find anything start do inspection on the truck . One of the violations was hydraulic brake tubing improperly joined or spliced.. FYI semi truck we have DONT HAVE hydraulic brake tubing. I know they needed probable cos to do paperwork for this stop . But they dont understand how much cost to company to have officers mistakes like this.

I was walking my lobster on a leash down the street and a police officer drove by and saw my lobster and he asked if I was okay and why I had a lobster on a leash at 3:30 AM and so I said, It s ok. I m disabled. Code 4, officer. And he smile and drove away.

We called when my brother in law stole my husband'...

We called when my brother in law stole my husband's service truck. The officer seemed to have picked sides before he knew what was going on siding with my brother in law. Made false claims against my husband and told us because they were brothers once my husband's brother took the truck it just transferred ownership. That officer also let my brother in law and his friend completely strip the service truck of work equipment and the stereo system. Then in May my family was in a rollover accident putting my husband in the hospital for three months and in that time my husband's sister came with an officer to take my 15 year old step daughter when i asked if she could refuse he told me she was under age and had no choice. When my husband was out of the hospital we tried to go get my step daughter back but the officers told us it was her choice to stay there and we had to go to court. Also while my husband was in the hospital his father, brother, and his sister stole his c10 toter truck, a car trailer, and his service truck when i cought them in the act and called the Arapahoe county sheriff's department the officer that called me back couldn't be bothered and allowed them to take my husband's property. Now we cant get it back and have to go to court.

Right now with all that is going on, it seems appropriate to call out the good police out there. DS Matt Schambow helped me through a tough situation when all he wanted to do was give someone a warning for parking in a disabled spot. Thank you for that, and I am now a happy and a permanent resident of Arapahoe County.

I just dealt with an arapahoe county sheriff. I was parked in a parking lot for the day with my Rv. He respectfully knocked on my door and informed me that the owners of the lot don t want RVs parked here and how he understands it s hard to find a place to park. He was so very respectful he had said we could stay the rest of the night and he also gave me other suggestions on where to park and we had about a 10 minute conversation about rvs and the type he and his wife owns. He was a breath of fresh air and I wish I had his name to leave it here. He was patrolling thee Chinese man movie theater maybe you can extend my thank. Thank you for understanding and being such a personable respectful officer and human being

On Monday February 4th I stopped at the Arapaho Walmart for a few groceries and left returned to my truck in the parking lot to find that all of my tools had been stolen. I run my own contracting business, I work 7 days a week with 12+ hours a day driving around the Denver metro area just doing my job day in and out to help support my 2 daughters. It is obvious that I need my tools to do my job and I have spent the last 5 years accumulating some of the best tool sets in order to make my days a little easier. Without my tools I have no job.
When I saw my tools were stolen I immediately went back into Walmart to have an employee check the cameras to try and figure out who had taken everything from me to make a quick buck. The employee was able to track which Walmart customer was the thief and even had records of him buying groceries at self checkout with a credit card.
With that information I called the Arapahoe police and told them everything that had happened and all they needed to do was go to Walmart mart and pick up the case file which the very helpful wall mart employees made sure to have ready by 6am on the 5th. I called the station around 7pm to see if anyone had any new leads on thief and they told me that nobody had been to the wal mart to even pick up my case file. Now that it has been 24 hours who knows where my tools have been sold or taken to. My hopes for getting them back and continuing working is belittling every hour. I really wish there was some more consideration put into my issue as not only over $_,____ worth of tools had been taken but also my job.

I think it s hilarious how you guys haven t commented on the multitude of misconduct comments, but the one speeding ticket you say you were speeding here s proof this is proof you read these comments. How about you retrain and supervise your officers? They seem to be doing a terrible job if the masses are scared of them. Or at least respond that you don t care, because ignoring these calls for justice is doing just that with actions. And you know what your momma said.

My review reflects an interaction I had with an Arapahoe County Sheriff deputy whose only role in the department is to monitor traffic. Thankfully that is all "Deputy" Brett Sears can do. He pulled me over for expired plates. Understandable.

However, I've NEVER met an officer or deputy, especially a traffic cop, that acted with such authority to the point where he yelled at me. He is unprofessional and I could tell the reason why he only monitors traffic. In a high stress situation, he would probably shoot someone for reaching for their wallet after asking for it.

I've been pulled over for the same expired plates before and I was treated with respect and empathy. In fact, he understood my situation and let me go knowing I couldn't afford any more tow fees, etc.

I do not pose a threat to the public nor is having expired plates put the public at risk. It's just another way for the state and city to rake in more money from tax payers.

"Deputy" Brett Sears, I hope you learn how to speak with a level of professionalism, not authority. I respect officers, in fact I wanted to be one, and I lost respect for the Arapahoe County Sheriffs Department when I met Brett Sears. Empathy goes a long way. I will be filing a formal complaint.

This place really needs a cleaning and customer service training- the lady who answered the phone was horrible and just rude. I was told to mail in my documents and I did a month early. I called about a dozen times and never got a call back. Once I did got a hold of someone in the permit department they told me I was late and they stopped taking online applications 4 weeks ago when I submitted mine 9 weeks ago. When I told the lady this she said very rudely if you haven t received an email then I didn t get it When I told her someone confirmed they got it and never processed it she got very upset and just kept repeating her self and hung up on me. I spoke with the gentleman the day before who told me she is off on Mondays to call Tuesday. I see why no one wants to deal with arapahoe county. If you hate your job then maybe you should quit!!!!

Arrived at the sheriff s office to submit a traffic collision report, of course I had forgotten their lobby would be closed due to Covid, but they had phone numbers to call for an escort to let you inside. Turns out the lady at the desk said she wouldn t accept any accident reports because they had to be mailed in. I asked if someone could just come collect it, if I could place it in a deposit box somewhere, or just slide it under the door. None of those options were possible. Which means I had to drive back 30 minutes to the post office just so I could mail in the report and it would make its way to the Sheriff s Office WHERE I HAD JUST BEEN. Another utterly inept government department

I've had the unpleasant experience of dealing with this sheriff's office on three ocasions, all of which were less then what I would expect of those dedicated to serving the public. The first incident, I called for information for a towed vehicle and once they realized it wasn't in Arapahoe County, they ended the call with zero information. The second time I was stopped for expired tags and explained that I had not yet received my new stickers but the officer didn't care and cited me anyways. I went to court and the charges were dismissed when the officer failed to show because he knew he wrote a baseless ticket. Lastly I went to report a hit and run and the staff in the office acted like I was wasting their time. This police department is hands down the worst one I have ever dealt, from they're job performance to basic manners.

These folks have nothing better to do then drive around empty country roads in an effort to speed trap...good for you guys. And that isn't even what's bad, officer was jerky and definitely felt more important then he is. My father and grandfather were Chicago cops for decades and they never behaved that way. Maybe because they had real problems to handle. To the officer that pulled me over: you are a poor example to the profession and I encourage you to shadow some of the most respected officers I'm friends and family with: CPD.

Update: I have no shame for getting caught - it is what it is - but clearly getting a little feedback on social media is hard for you guys. Sorry to hear that.

I am sad to write this review but I feel it is necessary. My uncle in Iowa starting threatening my mom's life so she had to get a restraining order against him. The Iowa sheriff's handled this very well. Since he could no longer threaten or go near her he started to contact me in Colorado from Iowa. Eventually after trying to reason with him I had to contact the Arapahoe sheriff as I know he has firearms. After many tries I could not even get a sheriff to come see me to review all the texts. He had been threatening to come see me and even send people to my house. After many tries I was told by Jamie Wright that since I would not block his number and the texts were not threatening that she will be closing the case. I am unsure how she knew they weren't threatening as she would not even come review the texts. I did not block his number as I feared he would then just drive out here as he had threatened as I had explained. Eventually the sheriff's office from Iowa was able to put me on the restraining order in Iowa. I feel its moments like these that could have gotten me or my family's life killed by simple lack of response from our law enforcement. I pray that this is seen and understood by this department and new policies are implemented so that our citizens can feel safe and protected and not just blown off and ignored.

Just watched a video(YouTube) of 3 very unprofessional officers that were disrespectful to a citizen pulled over and very aggressive to a citizen filming the incident. Is it your policy to identify to a citizen upon request? Seems like it would be a bit difficult to file a complaint without names and badges. And, is it policy to return someone's licence by throwing it on the ground and making the citizen bend over to pick it up?

Granddaughter was seriously tailgated on s Broadway by deputy I know is badge heavy. He then gave her a ticket for 5-6mi over speed limit. She was going 5 under due to snow slick conditions. Shame on u, deputy. Wish u had worked for me. Other than that, great people, great experience. Sounds like it's changed the last couple year. I would enjoy working IA there now!! Thanks to all the good ones.

Obviously a tyrannical agency. My brother is going through DPD academy and they re a solid organization. Focused on safety and true law enforcement. Arapahoe county cops are just sitting around waiting for law-abiding, police-respecting citizens to do small infractions they can collect money from. That s where all the money s at. A tremendous amount of my tax dollars are spent to train and pay police to perform law enforcement. But this organization wastes their expensive training by spending every day sitting in their cars, waiting in special places to catch people going about their day. They re merely tax-collectors . It s sad that young heroes like Zackari Parrish get killed while dealing with real crime, and old sedentary officers like 9449 continue to prowl the streets (clean, wealthy, and safe streets only, of course). Any officer or organization with respect for themselves or their community, wouldn t engage in this foolish behavior. I m very supportive of police, especially more so with all the anti-police sentiment lately, but this lunacy makes it difficult to support the police. I work hard every day, running a profitable business that relies on voluntary customers. You should give that a try, lazy 9449. I don t have to answer for your long life of extortion, but you will.

Short version. Me and step daughter playing, mothe...

Short version. Me and step daughter playing, mother in law comes in. (Who we all moved in with to take care of, because of the multiple personality disorder.) Start bad mouthing me, so I say to the child, let's go play down stairs. She scream, grabs her arm and jerks her in the air. I then grab my mother in laws arm, make her let go of the child, then take the child down stairs. MIL, says she's calling the cops; respond: fine I'll call the cops. Cops come find her at fault. Child sleeping, me and my wife mad about the night, but go to sleep. Woken up by cops knocking on the bed room door. All they say is can we talk to you outside. I go outside, handcuffs and off to jail. asked why I was being arrested. Nothing. Turned out mother in law just made a bunch of crazy none sense up. She said I drug her down the hall by her hair, pinned her down, and punched her face in. Except she didn't have a single mark. Told the arresting cops to find the previous police report and they just told me I was a liar. In jail, they took my blankets, said I'd get more, which never happened. So slept on plastic mat and that's all I had. Told them I didn't have a cup, they pointed towards a used dirty cup left behind. And that's the cup I got. So 3 days in jail based off a false police report. Also had my series 66 test scheduled during my jail time. Also had taken in out 10k small business loan to start up a company going after gov bids for security cameras. And on top of it all, me and my family was now homeless. Me and my wife were sleeping on a friend's couch and our daughter was sleeping on a chair. So we gave up custody, because we were now homeless. Oh and can't get a place to rent with felony assault charges pending, which 6 months later. When the attorney finally got the first police report. Everything was dismissed. Arapahoe county police, have ruined my life. Fact. Ruined my life.

I wish I could give them 0. I appreciate law enforcement and what they do however Arapahoe County Sheriff s Department is the reason law enforcement agencies have tarnished reputations. What qualifies as police work now is sickening. You wait 40 minutes for an officer so that they can do absolutely nothing besides hand you a case number. No investigation, no questioning of witnesses and don t ever call on a Saturday evening, because you will wait for 45 minutes on an emergency call for an officer headed this direction from Deer Trail. Contact the Sargent to file a complaint and you ll get the best excuse as to why his officers cannot be held accountable for not even bothering to investigate before handing you a case number and going on their way.

I live at club Valencia on Parker rd. In the last several weeks sheriffs have been circling my apartment complex late at night, 1am to 3am, with their spot lights on the building in everyone's Windows while they sleep at night! Now that it's hot out and the Windows are open for cool night air it seems like it's every night yet there's no crimes being committed, no fugitives at large and on the run, this is completely absurd! I understand some of my neighbors may not be the most upstanding citizens but in the two years I've lived here I have not seen or heard of any crime here. Every night my entire apartment lights up like the sun and my dogs bark like mad, like they should, I am rudely awakened as are my neighbors and the officers pass by so incredibly slowly it's nearly a minute before it passes. These officers are making a statement in doing this. It feels like a police state or a war zone with These bully tactics, this makes me and everyone else I've spoken to about it feel like we're prisoners. We're free tax paying homeowners in this community! That's right, free hard working American citizens just living life. Everyone here is quiet and mindful of others in our community and we demand the officers who have been terrorizing us at night learn how to do the same and be respectful of the people in the county that employs them! I've had enough of this and it's getting worse!! I'm writing this tonight after being rudely woken up once again with this but this time the officers cruiser stopped just past my home for over an hour for whatever reason and when I looked outside the officer was at a vehicle prying open its doors breaking in and setting off the alarm!! I have no idea what the objective was behind this but when I looked outside I saw the officer breaking into my neighbors car, yes BREAKING into the car with no one else anywhere in sight. I assume my neighbor wasn't home since he wasn't out there. I looked outside to see what was going on right in time to clearly see as plain as day the officer circle the car with his flashlight on foot, then break into the car setting off the alarm, and proceed to illegally enter the vehicle with its alarm sounding to do God knows what! Is this something I need to worry about when I park my car and go to sleep at night? Will they pick my car to break into tomorrow? This is like living in a POW camp just waiting for it to be you. I honestly don't know what was going on or why I saw what I saw but that car had been there in that spot for a day or two so it couldn't have just been in some crime and here the police are breaking into it in the middle of the night and waking up the whole neighborhood in the process? It absolutely can NOT be legal for the police to do that? At least I hope here in America, people's property is safe and protected from such disgusting displays of disrespect for people's property to the degree of vandalism by a public servant clearly disregarding the law and completely abusing their power! Is this officer just another sovereign citizen with a badge. I knew what I was seeing was so illegal I was afraid to go ask what was going on in an attempt to look out for my neighbors property! If an officer is willing to damage someone's property for no reason in the middle of the night I've got to fear for my safety as a witness to it to the point I knew it would put me in great danger just to go ask what was going on. This man has a gun, a tazer, other assorted weapons, and is trained to hurt people and their breaking the law! This is a terrorist! One cannot help but feel like their community is officially being overtaken by armed thugs at night! I will inform my neighbor of everything I saw and not let this go without an explanation of why that officer stopped and randomly pried open that cars door until it popped open and set off the alarm at 3AM when nothing was happening and no one was around! The sec camera on my patio has dozens of late night light ups, it's a solid history of harassment. Do I need to meet with an attorney to get this to stop? I hope not!

I got pulled over today on 26 of May, 2018. That isn't the issue. The issue today is how I was treated by the officer. I was pulled over at County Line and Holly. On County Line there are very few turn ins to safely get over so I'm not holding up traffic and also the officer is safe from traffic, too. When I saw the officer behind me, I had already missed the first turn to sagely pull over. I waved to the officer letting him know I acknowledged him and drove less than half a mile to a safe turn in in a shopping center right at Colorado Blvd and County Line. The officer scolded me for not stopping immediately even though I gave him my honest reasoning as to waiting until a safe area to stop. I only had his best interest at heart and made it clear that I had no ill intention. Deputy Sheil was out of line with his attitude. If my neice had been with me she would no longer trust police like I have often told her to. I was nothing but respectful, and to be disrespected by a servant of the people and the law just goes to show that not only our tax dollars, but the officers in charge does not have the publics best interest. Deputy Sheil, badge number 08022 should be written up for poor attitude.

Deputy Mike Stokes
Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office thinks he can do whatever he wants. He does not enforce the Law that we the people hired him for. He enforces his personal law. Colorado is not a stop an ID place. but Deputy Mike thinks he is above the law and treat citizens however he likes. He is a dangerous person.

There is NO justification to mock another human being.
I could not help but overhear two employees of the Arapahoe County Sherriffs Department loudly cast judgement on and laugh at another individuals hit and run report.
Regardless of the details of the alleged accident and report, these employees must understand and respect the repercussions of mockery and disrespect.
When one chooses a profession to care for the people of the community, one must do some soul searching. Do I genuinely care about people? Do I choose do cause harm or good?
Mockery is Not Ok.
These above employees were two females working at the front desk.

Waited to get fingerprints done for 2 hours on Monday. If the office is aware there is an influx of working residents needing a service done to make a pay check they should be more aware of our time. A 2 hour wait time for a 10 minute process is unacceptable and there should be more fingerprinting officials to create a more acceptable wait time. It s sad that Arapaho county treats its hardworking citizens this way.

Just watched a vid of 3 deputies hassling a man for, apparently, nothing. Guy was just walking a dog when cop stopped him and demanded ID. More deputies showed up and outright lied about Colorado ID laws. Then they fabricated some nonsense about an old warrant. Costumed bullies grabbed, cuffed, detained the poor lad. Eventually they had to release him because they had NOTHING. Arapahoe County seems like a good place to avoid. Spend your money elsewhere.

The officers come to the property all the time regarding noise and even provide their reports to the leasing office every monday

It's unfortunate that one bad cop can ruin the reputation of an entire department. Officer Stookes or Stokes or whatever your name is, stop terrorizing our community. Just because your 6'8 with a gun and a badge doesn't mean you can assault and physically harm the citizens of Arapahoe County. Breaking my wrists and then mocking my disabilities is why people can't trust the police anymore. If your into violence I'd suggest joining the military. Actually don't. Trust me, you'd never make it.

Allow me to go into detail about my experience. As the victim of a violent crime I was not expecting the response I received. Victim's advocate Portia Watson and district attorney Cori Alcock Christofferson made a horrible experience even worse. Days after the crime was committed Portia Watson intimidated me and my family with threats. The victims family! Who does that?!
It gets worse. Cori Alcock Christofferson made sure my family paid the price for suggesting that their victims advocate was not doing a proper job ADVOCATING for the victim. Cori has ignored all concerns related to my case. As a 60 year old woman I don't feel safe. I don't feel safe when I see a DA office led by a psychopath who intends on furthering her political career on the backs of victims. I'm disgusted the Cori Alcock Christofferson has not been fired yet like Portia Watson.

This department is the epitome of Abusive,Corrupt, and Labeling on Innocent Law abiding citizens that act contrary to their to Draconian and Fabian system of a Criminal Enterprise. This along with their "Police State" agenda, and the misnomer state representatives and state senators are "political puppets" that have egregiously stripped away our Fundamental protection rights of this republic. Here is a concrete and prime example of the criminal disservice and injustice handed down by their Draconian and Fabian Laws/Statutes. I was literally Arrested,Handcuffed,Incarcerated, and Prosecuted for a single slap to my now ex-wife's buttocks! A fourteen year Juvenile delinquent step-daughter, called this in and had me thrown in Jail. I, ultimately was exculpated of all Criminal offenses at a cost of $1,005.44. Again, she had me rearrested 2/12 years later, and I was Acquitted and cost me $3,449.93 for my criminal defense Law Firm. In closing, please remember people, these "public servants" are NOT your friends or allies, but a "enhancement revenue " based solely on profits at the direct cost to the populace/public.They are abuse, corruption, harassment, intrusion, and labeling of your person. Please, I urge you to ascertain and extrapolate the well oiled Criminal machine and judge for yourself! The judges, district attorneys, investigators, detectives, and the police for the vast majority are demented, sordid, and pathetic opportunist. The state senators, state representatives, and state legislation are the catalyst that implemented these Neo-Fascist, Socialist, and Police State laws/statutes into our lives with very limited regard for the irreparable damage and destruction on individuals, families, and innocent parties that are predisposed to their Bias and Prejudicial system base with Impunity and Protectionism for the bureaucrats and plutocrats inclusively!!! I, along with my family were attending therapy and these judgemental and double standard Laws precluded me from rendering assistance to my family pre arrests. (Justice Network National Legal Representative, M.S., double B.A., United States Armed Forces Veteran with Two-Honorable Discharges and Three Service Medals, Political Candidate, Former Professional & World Class Athlete, and a Advocate against Government abuse, corruption, and the sheer Ignorance and pugnacious attitude toward the voting public that are their "Employers" that pay their exorbitant union salaries) Jeffrey J.Kicia

This department is full of tyrants, on multiple occasions I've been trailgated for miles, I've seen the same done to others, I've seen them yelling and screaming orders at citizens and the traffic infractions are used as revenue and not as a tool to train the public. Douglas County and The Town of Parker are great examples of the way public servants should perform on the job (they are always there for the people, not to get the people) take notes from them please!
