I like the ability to rent a double stroller for $9. It made walking around much easier. The displays with all of the animals are nice. I wish it wasn't such a hike to make it to the Africa and Maryland exhibits, and I would like to see more water bottle filling stations and shaded areas to stay cool on hot days.

The zoo is a great way to spend a few hours with the kids. There is a play area near the entrance, and an area for group events like parties. The actual exhibits are a good walk from the main entrance, but a shuttle is available that can accommodate strollers as long as they are folded.

The new elephant and giraffe exhibits are great, and there is a booth were you can purchase food to hand feed the giraffes and elephants, although animal cooperation is not guaranteed.

The food court is expensive and lacks variety, but the zoo let's you bring outside food in a small cooler. Seating area is adequate, but it can get busy and hard to find a spot for large parties to sit together. There is a merry-go-round and train if the kinds are tired of looking at animals and walking.

Membership is not required but recommended due to a very low annual price and perks like local restaurant discounts, event discounts, and early admission on the first weekend of the month.

The place is very fun to hangout in. There are a lot of animals and if you don't want to walk all the way, there is a station with a huge car that drives you to the other half of the zoo. There were so many interactive activities there and the workers were very approachable and nice. Not only that, but the exhibits were very interesting because you could look at them from diffrent angles in certain ways. There are places for children to hangout in and I think they would really enjoy that. Definately take your kids here.

I went in late May and most of the animals were not in the exhibits. However, the giraffe feeding area was well worth it. If you plan on going mid week just remember that school field trips tend to go too

We love this zoo! A companion membership, penguin adoption, and penguin encounter... we're definitely hoping to visit multiple times this year! The penguin encounter was awesome!! It's so nice to just walk around here too even when most animals are off exhibit. Cant wait to go back when they're back on exhibit!

This zoo is an amazing adventure. There's incredible animals at each turn, and knowledgeable keepers! I love the new lion and elephant areas. Food here is pricey ! If you will visit often or live in the area get the membership it's worth it.

very expensive some exhibits were under construction. and I feel like they should tell you at the gate before you pay what you will not be able to see. I brought my great nephew all the way from PA, to specifically see lions. snd the exhibit was closed but we did not find out until after we paid and got inside.

An amazing place to visit as a date or with family. The idea of discounted tickets in winter is amazing, and while some animals weren't out due to the weather, it was still a nice day out for everyone

Great zoo, habitats are expanding. Animals well cared for, habitat keepers very knowledgeable. Food service needs updated menu and employees at food service need basic communication skills improved.

All of the exhibit updates are so nice, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. What a wonderful day out with the family learning, and checking out all of the new exhibits. We will be doing this again.

This was the worst zoo I have ever been too, the animals were all put away, there were just workers in all the cages. Also, they didn t even have any exciting things because everything was SHUT DOWN, without any warning. Worst day ever. Don t go here.

They really need more animals and a major upgrade. I haven't been to the Baltimore zoo, in years. Still a great disappointed. Baltimore really needs to step up there game. If you want people to be excited about living some place, you have to make the place exciting.

Penguin Yoga!

Penguin Yoga!

Meet a penguin ambassador (Tetra was ours, and she was super friendly and interested in us) and get early access to the zoo to walk around uninhibited.

The zoo is always well staffed and the animals are well taken care of. (The ethics of sentient beings in captivity are another conversation). They also have a well-coordinated breeding program for the penguins as well as the critically endangered golden frogs.

We love the zoo! Some of my personal favorite parts: the rhino, the new lion enclosure, the giraffes, the okapi, the penguin house, the polar bears, and of course the chimpanzees. It's relatively small, and it's a hike down to the actual animal exhibits if you aren't taking the shuttle (which isn't offered during the pandemic). It can't compete with the National Zoo, which is bigger, better, and cheaper (free), but it's good zoo nonetheless.

Fabulous! This a a really great zoo, it's very natural and pretty with the atmosphere of a nice park. It's a very pleasant place to stroll around, not to even mention the wide variety of well done animal exhibits. Definitely not just for the kids.

I gave 5 stars because we are so blessed to have a Zoo in our city (Baltimore) period, it might not be the greatest zoo in the world but we don't have to travel to another state or country to see beautiful wild animals in person!

It was wonderful and the polar bear bear exhibit looks nice and the lions were outstanding . We also love the penguins who waddle and slide. the experience at the zoo was very educational and the staff was really nice.

This zoo was small, quite empty, and on the whole, uneventful. In my opinion, it is not worth the entry fee, but for a younger child, it may be many times more enjoyable. Therefore, child-friendly.

What used to be the Baltimore zoo, is now the Maryland zoo and has been for a number of years. A lot of positive changes have taken place, the exhibits are better and they have more animals than they had a few years back. The elephant exhibit is undergoing an expansion, so we couldn't see the elephants, but that section is due to reopen on June 22nd. It is a great place for adults and kids alike, and it is mostly handicapped accessible. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because how rude a woman in one of the concession stands for snacks was towards my daughter. It was rudeness of a level that was totally uncalled for, as in if she hates her job that much, she should just quit and definitely not work with the public. But other than that we had a great time!
