Zoo is smaller than I remember, but they are making efforts to make a much needed renovation. Park was clean and has a petting zoo for the big and small kids.

I love to go to the zoo with the family every Easter it's a nice tradition!
Everything was great. The animals were happy, enclosures well cleaned and decorated, and knowledgeable staff. I can't wait for 2015 when the penguins get there :D
Not worth 29.00 was not many animals out this is my 2nd time going I will not be returning back boring place walk around all you see trees no animals
Would give 5 stars but it felt like half the exhibits were under construction
Tough summer, with construction on the elephant, giraffe, and lion habitats limiting access to the animals. But still tons for the kids to see and do.
One of the oldest zoos in the country, and still worth visiting.
Awesome place to bring a family. Much better than the National Zoo
Amazing park i got to see how the bear digs for the rabbit and eat it in-front of me it was disgusting but something i never have seen before
Great place for both adults and children. Good layout and the improvements are exciting. Can't wait to go again.
I like the ability to rent a double stroller for $9. It made walking around much easier. The displays with all of the animals are nice. I wish it wasn't such a hike to make it to the Africa and Maryland exhibits, and I would like to see more water bottle filling stations and shaded areas to stay cool on hot days.
It was fun but there was way to many people!! There should not be 45 schools at once! But it is fun!!
Always enjoy running the zoo zoom at the MD zoo in Baltimore though during the winter months you don't get to see all the animals. Kids enjoyed visiting the giraffes inside.
Such a beautiful zoo!! Friendly staff! Clean restrooms! If you re a goat lover like me, theres a goat corral! Endless goat petting!
We had a great time at the Zoo. We should have paid more attention to the hours as we went on Sunday and they close at 4 but otherwise it was great
The zoo is a great way to spend a few hours with the kids. There is a play area near the entrance, and an area for group events like parties. The actual exhibits are a good walk from the main entrance, but a shuttle is available that can accommodate strollers as long as they are folded.
The new elephant and giraffe exhibits are great, and there is a booth were you can purchase food to hand feed the giraffes and elephants, although animal cooperation is not guaranteed.
The food court is expensive and lacks variety, but the zoo let's you bring outside food in a small cooler. Seating area is adequate, but it can get busy and hard to find a spot for large parties to sit together. There is a merry-go-round and train if the kinds are tired of looking at animals and walking.
Membership is not required but recommended due to a very low annual price and perks like local restaurant discounts, event discounts, and early admission on the first weekend of the month.
My son wants to give today's visit 1000 stars. The penguin feeding and new African section were our favorites
The place is very fun to hangout in. There are a lot of animals and if you don't want to walk all the way, there is a station with a huge car that drives you to the other half of the zoo. There were so many interactive activities there and the workers were very approachable and nice. Not only that, but the exhibits were very interesting because you could look at them from diffrent angles in certain ways. There are places for children to hangout in and I think they would really enjoy that. Definately take your kids here.
Had a great time despite the covid stuff going on. The zoo is doing a great job with keeping everyone safe while at the zoo and most of the exhibits are still open.
Charge full admission and main attraction not available and I want not inform of it at gate
What a gem! I love this zoo more than the DC zoo. Yes, you have to pay for entrance, but it's so nice. Loved it so much we got a membership on our way out!
I have a great time with my little sister after 25 years.
The Maryland Zoo is a good place for family and friends there are many places to relax.
I went in late May and most of the animals were not in the exhibits. However, the giraffe feeding area was well worth it. If you plan on going mid week just remember that school field trips tend to go too
We love this zoo! A companion membership, penguin adoption, and penguin encounter... we're definitely hoping to visit multiple times this year! The penguin encounter was awesome!! It's so nice to just walk around here too even when most animals are off exhibit. Cant wait to go back when they're back on exhibit!
This zoo is an amazing adventure. There's incredible animals at each turn, and knowledgeable keepers! I love the new lion and elephant areas. Food here is pricey ! If you will visit often or live in the area get the membership it's worth it.
Nice zoo would have given 5 stars but didn't get to see lions
Miss of the animals were not there. No lions, no bears, no tigers and no elephants!
Nothing to see here except many "animal is currently out of exhibit" signs. The manager is super rude pathetic man. Wasting of time, losing of good mood... Example of what a zoo shouldn't be
very expensive some exhibits were under construction. and I feel like they should tell you at the gate before you pay what you will not be able to see. I brought my great nephew all the way from PA, to specifically see lions. snd the exhibit was closed but we did not find out until after we paid and got inside.
An amazing place to visit as a date or with family. The idea of discounted tickets in winter is amazing, and while some animals weren't out due to the weather, it was still a nice day out for everyone
It had been such a long time since I have been to the baltimore zoo, but I must say they are doing a great job! The new additions to the zoo were amazing and the animals came right up to us!
My daughter was married @ the Mansion House. Beautiful setting, great staff & Lilly the penguin was delightful!
Very nice walk but not the best zoo I have been too. Alot of the animals were unavailable.
We loved it, went for my daughters birthday and she had an amazing time, minus not being able to see the lions due to renovations. But we will be back again.
Great zoo, habitats are expanding. Animals well cared for, habitat keepers very knowledgeable. Food service needs updated menu and employees at food service need basic communication skills improved.
Awesome place worth the visit can't wait till they open the new open range exhibts next year. Also they serve beer what can be better than beer and penguins
All of the exhibit updates are so nice, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. What a wonderful day out with the family learning, and checking out all of the new exhibits. We will be doing this again.
This was the worst zoo I have ever been too, the animals were all put away, there were just workers in all the cages. Also, they didn t even have any exciting things because everything was SHUT DOWN, without any warning. Worst day ever. Don t go here.
They really need more animals and a major upgrade. I haven't been to the Baltimore zoo, in years. Still a great disappointed. Baltimore really needs to step up there game. If you want people to be excited about living some place, you have to make the place exciting.
I haven't been there for a while and was disappointed that the place shrunk. What was there was rather good though and most important, my son enjoyed it.
Enjoyed the Zoo Zoom Expedition 8k. Very scenic. Challenging course.
Prices are reasonable enjoyed seeing the animals so cute and clean there
Penguin Yoga!
Meet a penguin ambassador (Tetra was ours, and she was super friendly and interested in us) and get early access to the zoo to walk around uninhibited.
The zoo is always well staffed and the animals are well taken care of. (The ethics of sentient beings in captivity are another conversation). They also have a well-coordinated breeding program for the penguins as well as the critically endangered golden frogs.
We love the zoo! Some of my personal favorite parts: the rhino, the new lion enclosure, the giraffes, the okapi, the penguin house, the polar bears, and of course the chimpanzees. It's relatively small, and it's a hike down to the actual animal exhibits if you aren't taking the shuttle (which isn't offered during the pandemic). It can't compete with the National Zoo, which is bigger, better, and cheaper (free), but it's good zoo nonetheless.
Great place to visit with the family. Be prepared to spend though. Those items in the gift shop aren't cheap.
Fabulous! This a a really great zoo, it's very natural and pretty with the atmosphere of a nice park. It's a very pleasant place to stroll around, not to even mention the wide variety of well done animal exhibits. Definitely not just for the kids.
I'm sorry I didn't go to the zoo, however, I did go to the park and just sat, caught some shade, and did some reflective thinking.
Under alot of exhibit construction right now but I know it will only improve our future visits to the Zoo!
Haven't been here in awhile....good to see the kids smile....the prices on the food though....are expensive
It's was good with a nice assortment of animals. The penguins are cute.
A little pricey I thought, but love the place. Lots of animals. My kid loved the day out!
Pretty fun, nothing's changed in the last 11yrs since I was last there though
Nice visit. Fun time with my grandchildren. Clean bathrooms. Food is really good!
A solid "average" zoo. ...A few closed exhibits, nothing too exciting, but certainly meets expectations of a zoo trip, especially for kids.
Expansive kids area with tree slide makes this a great draw for families.
Great zoo! There is currently construction going on, but there is still so much to see and do. We have a membership and will definitely renew.
Love the Baltimore Zoo. My family has gone to the zoo for years. Love seeing all the animals. Very clean friendly place.
I gave 5 stars because we are so blessed to have a Zoo in our city (Baltimore) period, it might not be the greatest zoo in the world but we don't have to travel to another state or country to see beautiful wild animals in person!
Expensive as hell better off to go to a O's game or Ravens game
I haven't been here in years but good place to go with a date.
The improvements from the last time I went 8 years ago are outstanding! Can't wait to go again!!!
Went there for a job interview, been there in the past,be back when the weather changes.
It was wonderful and the polar bear bear exhibit looks nice and the lions were outstanding . We also love the penguins who waddle and slide. the experience at the zoo was very educational and the staff was really nice.
This zoo was small, quite empty, and on the whole, uneventful. In my opinion, it is not worth the entry fee, but for a younger child, it may be many times more enjoyable. Therefore, child-friendly.
What used to be the Baltimore zoo, is now the Maryland zoo and has been for a number of years. A lot of positive changes have taken place, the exhibits are better and they have more animals than they had a few years back. The elephant exhibit is undergoing an expansion, so we couldn't see the elephants, but that section is due to reopen on June 22nd. It is a great place for adults and kids alike, and it is mostly handicapped accessible. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because how rude a woman in one of the concession stands for snacks was towards my daughter. It was rudeness of a level that was totally uncalled for, as in if she hates her job that much, she should just quit and definitely not work with the public. But other than that we had a great time!
